I could just easily make an entire video just to talk about the guitars in this track, but maybe that would be too technical.
To make it short tho, the guitar bass and drums are obviously another huge reason why this track is such a banger.
Kinda crazy that this is just a band made only of 4 members, they sound WAY too big for that!
It reminds me of Muse's sound also, another band that sounds ridiculously massive despite just being 3 people. Good stuff!
Ayo if you liked this maybe check out: Yoru wa nemurerukai? its AJIN's OP and it sounds really cool imo. Also i believe its written for the show.
Also your vids are fire... Im not very knowledgable in terms of music, but your videos explain it in laymens terms which to me is invaluable because I really enjoy music, but dont really know how to describe it. Keep up the good work, I look forward to your next video!
Every instrument goes so wild
I mean, I'm sure people will watch it even if it's "too technical" 👀 Guitars are cool 🎸🎸
This sounds like a perfect twitter short video........
Several months later, and 'The Rumbling' is _still_ at the top of the heavy metal billboard charts, what a song
Several months later and the switch to reggae still fucking suckerpunches me in the face lmao
@@UzumakiJD It's funny how they even show the colors of the jamaican flag.
@@theLikou1 i think its ethiopian flag
@@theLikou1 or...just the colour of smoke gun that Scout used to use in SnK
@theLikou1 @@thetop6340 You're both kinda right. It represents Rastafari from Jamaica which claims the Ethiopian flag.
This OP is so well written, it perfectly gets the vibes of SNK. Such a masterpiece !

Finally it's here.
SiM's got a lot of really good tracks. They went all in on this one, but their other songs are worth checking out too
It's kind of cringe that despite the title saying Attack on Titan you're still using the Japanese name and THEN abbreviating it on top of that. It's like no matter what the reality is you're still stuck in the headspace of thinking watching something subbed and calling it by its name in Japanese makes you more interesting or cultured.
@@goodguyguan3412
You made an excellent troll post. Nicely done. If people took you seriously, they'd have a huge list of obvious retorts to chose from.
Examples being:
1. If you want to talk about facing reality, you should face the reality of your shite punctuation. I had to proof read this just to know what you were getting at
2. There is nothing wrong with abbreviating long titles, so I'm not sure why you made a point to address that. If they said "AoT", would you still be crying?
3. They never said if they watched subs or dubs, this is an assumption you made
4. To expand on point 3, you are making a lot of assumptions about someone's mentality, based entirely on 3 letters that they typed out
5. It's pretty cringe to call things cringe
6. (I don't speak Japanese, but) the localized name never made sense to me. My understanding is that the grammatic particle "no" usually indicates possessive traits. In that case, the Japanese title should probably read more as "Attack of Titan". And the main character's own titan is referred to, in English, as the "Attack Titan". I have not seen the new season, but IIRC, the original Japanese dialog literally says "Shingeki no Koyjin". In that case, how the fuck does the English title tie into that?
7. If you know what they were trying to say, then does it matter?
8. This is a channel for discussing music. Stop whining about parallel topics
This is not an exhaustive list of responses, it's just what I could come up with at a glance. But I hope it demonstrates how stellar your comment was for leaving itself open to half-ass retorts. Once again, as a troll, a commend your efforts at starting an argument. Nice work.

2:52 your take on the orchestration of the chorus is so beautiful i legit cried man
Petition to make this part an ost
Agreed!
You need some testosterone in your body, man.
@@HonorarySaiyan and you need some emotion in yours
@@HonorarySaiyan You need a father little boy.
I love how you break down stuff and show how the songs and instruments are played, it really helps me understand the songs a whole lot better, and your opinion and reactions are always great

ми не здамося 🇺🇦
Dont forget his drip too
Ikr!! Very well done
You saying the lead singer is Eren and the choir being the subjects of Ymir just makes me love this even more! Awesome breakdown
its wild how different the full version is to the limited piece they used for the OP
Just like JoJo OPs, the full version here brings the insanity to 110% and I love it.
It definitely was too much in terms of genres to fit the show I think, but that said the lyrics of the song stay loyal to AoT's story until the end which is very cool
@@AlexMoukalaMusic Agree 100%
When it went regae-ish for a second there i thought i was having a fever dream or something lol
@@xx_karl_marx_xx8594 That reggae/Ska part of the song came out of left field and came as a pleasant surprise. Definitely SiM doing a shout out to their punk inspired origins.
Anyone else hearing the difference between the op version and the first 1:30 of the full version starting at the "If I lose it all" part, or am I just hearing incorrectly?
@@arcturionblade1077 It fits the concept too, reggae usually symbolism peace whereas the lyrics mentioned about how thing were back then when they are young and innocent and living in peace
That reaction when the growls kick in is basically what we all went through. Something we didn’t know we needed.
check out the Footsteps of Doom track from this season too, it's the most magnificent track of the whole series and thats saying something to what we comparing it with.
It's exactly captures that moment in the story and has such detail in the sound you dont even need visuals to know whats happening
The violin adds so much to the song.
@@music79075 yes you can just feel the terror and horror they building up! And the bells ringing towards end signifying that the end times have finally come for the world just chef kisses
It is just bad how they are not using the OST well this season. Great musics, terrible implementation.
@@theLikou1 you couldn't be further away from the truth 🤣 they are using the soundtrack amazingly and elegantly, you think you would do a better job by playing YOUSEEBIGGIRL evey 5 seconds? 🤡
@@DamageMaximo They are not, and you can't make a dumber argument than "BuT Can YoU do BettEr?". Just shows how you're not capable of even have a decent discussion, so talk about the use of a soundtrack is way out of your league, kid.
Rumbling is one of the few openings i didn't like at all first time i heard it but after hearing it couple of times its became one of my favourite
Yes, me too! Every time I hear it I like it more. It fits the show so well.
I feel like you can make that case for several of AOT's later openings. Specifically Rumbling, My War, and Red Swan. Not that they aren't great from the get go, but they get even better the more you watch the show and listen to them.
Look into Guilty Gear, all of it's music is like that lol
rumbling is one of the few openings that straight up blew my mind on the very first watch
@@FrizFroz
Yes that's true but i don't like the middle part in rumbling nor the visuals
Videos not done yet, but I have to say it's a treat to have multiple segments with Alex's vocals. Keep up the good work bruv
Damn, Alex stays drippy in every video 🌊🌊🌊
You're an inspiration, man, keep up the great work!
The Rumbling is a metal-heads paradise. It gets you hyped and it is just so badass.
All the AOT openings are great, and I appreciate them all. They fit in well thematically, and gladly choose not to skip them every episode.
people who skip openings are not people, they are irrational animals
Idk man, i feel like most people who like the opening are non-metalheads, and most people who don't really feel it are people who listen to metal regularly and aren't so easily impressed by the heavy parts
@@DamageMaximo wrong
There are two ops who are not good
The lyrics is over the top, they condensed the whole meaning of this season into a lyrics and which is kinda crazy.
But yes finally talk about the music itself which is a pure gold, the instrumental are wild, the guitar and drum are fantastic
The Eren-Subjects of Ymir meaning actually fits really well!
The panic of the eldians in Marley trying to warn the marleyans of the incoming threat, but in Eren's and the Yaegerists' perspective, it sounds menacing, like they're announcing their imminent victory.
"Rumbling! Rumbling! It's coming, rumbling! Rumbling!"
Aw I was hoping to hear Alex’s opinion on the “tearless, fearless..” part but hey great breakdown !
Glad you mentioned that this song is for the story. Most other anime songs are like what you said....just cool songs.
Not only is this song crazy hype, it is talking from Eren's mind it would seem.
This song is just so full of emotions it really gives chills down my spine everytime I listen to it, you can feel the anger but you can feel the sadness, its just pure perfect madness!
I'm in love with SiM's music. I hope more people check out their other songs too. Super good. Also "The Rumbling" is my favourite AoT opening both visually and musically. It's perfection for me.
I urge people who only know them thanks to "The Rumbling" to check out their other songs.
Yeah Rage of Bahamut was what introduced me to SiM
I did and I'm in love with "A" and "Baseball Bat" who have both become some of my favourite all time songs
I LOVE "Devil in Your Heart"!! It's also perfect for Chainsaw Man
@@Holocoasterr I love "A"
As someone who loved Metal for decades I also thought it was just some angry edgy teen related, but especially the lest "Beware" spoke to my soul. I've read the manga, and this is the perfect last opening, when Eren just screams outro the drop and the heavy base, you will feel it. Every time.
I've been in love with anime OPs for decades and I always love when an OP is clearly specifically written for the series it's used on. Great video as always, Alex!
You know it’s good when Alex lets out a “Shhhheeeeeiiiiiiiiit”
Attack on Titan never misses with music. Every intro song has fit the part of the show it plays during so well. Also from what I had read, most SiM songs are ska sounding. I love that they managed to sneak in a reggae beat without it sounding too out of place.
I'm not even a fan of AoT, but I'm so glad it became a perfect place for SiM to show their half whimsical, half insane beats to such a massive audience.
This op have story behind, emotion, rage and etc. Excellent job.
Thank you for covering this utter musical masterpiece, SiM's did good with this opening
The Rumbling is such an incredible song and love how you analyzed it!
This is why i love Your reactions. It is cuz they aren't just reactions. You're also breaking them down and you make your own examples and not just replay the tracks.
You definitely deserve a bigger following! The production value and effort of your videos goes above many larger content creators, mad respect!
I wholeheartedly recommend looking at more music from these guys. They have a fun blend of Rock, Punk, Reggae & Ska to their tracks.
First time I heard of them was the song 'Existance', which was used for the opening of an anime called 'Rage of Bahamut', but 'Blah, Blah, Blah', 'Killing Me', 'Whose Next' and 'Make me Dead' are well worth checking out at the very least!
Lidadada dada
I never watched much AoT (It wasn't my kind of thing) but this song is, as you said, amazing. SiM as a band are really good though, Japan has had some incredible bands like Coldrain, Survive said the Prophet and TRiDENT. It's great to hear your thoughts on the song as a whole though!
I adore SSTP and coldrain!
@@inugirlz4474 I wish more people knew of them, at least in the UK. They are super under-rated here so I try and sing their praises every chance I get
Yes 100% yes, I’ve been a fan of coldrain for a while. Survive Said the Prophet has also become one of my faves recently
Cold rain and Crossfaith are my favourites!!
Give it a second chance if you dropped it around season 1
I'm loving how more animes are getting exclusive songs for intros and outtros. It really steps the viewing experience up and I just love the idea of bands being excited to make cool songs for their favorite songs. It's such a bonus that these songs are typically massive slappers, like I swear The Rumbling and the 3red outtro for CSM make me wanna thrash till i fall apart 😩
Once upon a time, I thought nothing would ever top Guren no Yamiya, which is the first OP. That was changed by The Rumbling
Kinda prefer “my war” from the first half of the final season
It was topped by Sasageyo long ago brother.
OH MY GOD! I love your analysis! I've never seen someone approach an aspect of this series in such a concentrated way!
the way you made a short cover of each part of the song is so cool
Alex's drip levels up with his sub count.
I just discovered your channel and I gotta say, you are one of the few reaction channel that actually brings something to the table. Love how you recreate the parts from the songs to make your point.
I absolutely love how you explain the track so well!
Hell, I could watch a 1 hour video of you going in depth into any song, and I wouldn't get bored
I have been watching your video's as a lurker for quite a while now,but being a big AOT fan and seeing how you broke down probably one of my favorite openings for this show (as someone who is not even into heavy metal) makes me appreciate it even more. You have earned a new subscriber and a fan thank you for this.
Your reactions of sheer joyous laughter at the deep end screams and reggae break are the exact reaction I had as well and I love them so much
I love how each OP for AoT season visuals has basically spoilers of what the season is going to be like/about. It's perfect that a show so well thought out through to the ending (even if you don't like the ending, which is fine if you don't) has its OP thought out as well.
The change in tone (first few sound very heroic and upbeat to match Eren's will and motivation to take out every titan) to a more grim tone once Eren completes his change and makes up his mind in season 4 is my favorite part about the OPs.
Love this track and your analysis of it! Wife and I just bought tickets to see SiM live in concert and we can't wait to experience this awesome song in person!
Seeing you reacting to SiM music is super sick as someone who listens to SiM the rumbling has done so great to give the exposure so it's very cool seeing this
"Just to young innocent and ignorant" and the music behind it is my favourite part.
this song is so incredibly powerful, i'm really happy you made a video about it, thank you!!
This became my 2nd most listened to song of all time on Spotify!
I just started watching AoT in January and caught up yesterday so this was a very pleasant surprise. Thanks Alex!
You should check out the Footsteps of Doom track from this season. Its freaking amazing. It captures the emotions and atmosphere of this season sooo well. I don't even understand how someone can write music this goood
if you can react to their ending that would be awesome as well I believe it's such a complex and beautiful song
By far the best reaction sir, I'll have to watch more of your stuff! Not just because of your obvious research, but your obvious passion and business knowledge combined to make this enjoyable AND informative. A killer combo indeed!
Love these song breakdown videos so informative and interesting. Really helps with my own song writing to
Just the fact that you re create and present how it more or less looks in a musical and technical sense! Oh la Vache! Also i'm in my 20s did choir for 13 years but have learned from this reaction!? Like I used to think I had a good voice (subjective but simply based off the feeling of singing something and hitting the notes resulting in getting solo performances on different occasions) but when I was much younger, my dad would tell me that I sound like squidward which is ultimately why I chose to quit. I understand music and many of its complex elements, but I guess i've never heard someone give me an example of what 'nasally' sounds like. So yeah in addition to my increased heartrate, endorphins and excitement, i've learned something from your reaction as a "Music Producer Reacts-" vid. I have never actually gained from a "rapper reacts-" "metalhead reacts"- kinda video. So thank you Alex!
Oh wow. I love that you put the actual effort into your analysis. Immediate subscription.
BRO MAKE A FULL VERSION, THAT "lose it all" PART ROCKS
I love that you still have love for persona 💙💙
First time watching you and your analysis and personal was enthralling my friend. Instant sub.
I messaged you a while ago about how amazing anime ost’s are lol glad you finally got around to it. So glad you finally started listening to it now.
SiM also played for a few really amazing moments in Kiwami 2. My favorite was the 100 man fight which was such an epic way to cap off the Kiryu era of Yakuza games. The track is 'SiM - A', listen to it while working out for maximum awesomeness!
This was such an accurate analogy, you said most of the points that I was thinking myself. Good job man
I really like the style of your videos, keep up the good work!
you are the first music analysis channel that puts actual work into their videos, along with a great knowledge and nerdiness lol. Appreciate you man keep up the good work :)
Im ngl I wanted to fill this type of content niche a while ago, and i probably would have resented you if I tried and wasn't successful LOL. But now that I haven't tried im really glad you are taking up the cause and doing it really well
Dude one of the best reactions to any song ever! You broke it down and really appreciate the hard work the band put in! We would be music bros for sure!
Love your videos. Fantastic breakdown.
First time seeing one of you videos and I love how much effort you put into the editing and everything, keep it up man.💪
you’re amazing, did not expect this at all, but man i’m happy
The first SiM song I heard was Existence, and I recommend checking it out if you want to hear something else from them!
I love your take and how you break down the song! Got me on the first minute~ *subscribes*
Alex please please PLEASE release a full cover of the song, I loved your example interpretations of the verses so much
I really appreciate your professional comments on the song. Great video and breakdown explaining why it was so great.
Oooh been looking forward to this one!
Also waiting hard for you to react to Elden Ring's OST cuz some tracks have been so unconventional and weird with their composition they instantly grabbed my attention and I was in love lmao.
I'm playing it very slowly but already took note of some things I want to talk about in terms of its music!
Love the way you breakdown the video 🔥
I've been listening to SiM for a while now, and I'm so glad that this song just launched them into the Mega-mainstream. Super amazing video, keep up the good work
Ayee Alex with the Fur Coat, this song is amazing and I didn't expect you to make a video on it
I’m obsessed with this song and your coat omg
wish you talked about the rest of the bridge! my favorite part of the song (beyond that ridiculous chord change that starts the bridge) is that beautiful, quiet "if I lose it all, slip and fall, will you laugh at me?"
SiM has some bangers. They also made the Rage of Bahamut genesis op too!
Damn this is actually a reaction with so much work behind, I'm impressed man, quality content
It's just crazy that Attack on Titan's music is also relatable with Death Note...
If you know what I mean....
Both protagonists have to die to put an end to the both of the shows too.
Loved your analisys. It´s ambivalent like the protagonist for sure!!!
this is a great video, a reaction channel that actually adds to the content presented to them!
Sick editing, love the personal interpretations, and one of the few I have seen to appreciate the reggae breakdown. Well done.
I absolutely love this song. Jamming out so hard
Best reaction I've heard so far 💜
i love this breakdown
This dude knows his thing!!! Best review that I saw on CZcams!!!
I wish this guy made covers of songs they’d be so fire
You singing your own is so awesome for a reaction thank you!!
Yes I was looking forward to this
Dude you are so talented 😳
literally the boppest opening
really pumps you up each week
First time hearing Alex sing and my jaw hit my desk. Wtf he's so good.
thought it was just the usual "music something reacts" but you actually put in lots of thought and effort in this. cool video
Ottimo lavoro. Come sempre comunque.
This song matches so well with the visuals of the crowd staring up to the sky and then the reveal of the scouts on top of the wall when the song hits its climax
LETS FKING GOOOO!!!!!!
Fyi just randomly clicked this, I love you amazing break down as a producer, god like video editing. New Subscriber :) keep it up!
The song does so much. It’s epic, emotional and metal.
omg your solemn version of this song... IM IN LOVE
SIM has been one of my favorite jmetal band since Rage of Bahamut and their mix of reggae is spectacular
I was waitingggggg for this
This is already on track to be in my Spotify top 5
