"I'll be like Oprah, only better." All I could think was, "You get a husband! And you get a husband! And you get a husband!"
Everyone gets a husband! 😂
I'm annoyed by her but that's the point. Perfect casting.
I like how Emma's professionalism slipped ever so slightly when Alex came in the room. Says oodles about their relationship. They have clearly known each other for a while, because Emma becomes a bit child-like around him. Playfully affectionate. I approve of this adaptation.
This is like that one time when I watched The Lizzie Bennet Diaries and got absolutely nothing done for a week....sigh...
heh. heh. heh. same :/
I binge-watched LBD during my finals... oops.
3 days, with adding poe party . . .
I need you now to create Sense and Sensibility.... oh how I would love pemberly digital to create Sense and sensibility
HELL YES!!!
YES PLEASE! SENSE AND SENSIBILITY!!!
I was JUST thinking this! BUT...who would be the better choice for the primary “vlogger” to tell the story through, Elinor or Marianne? Marianne would possibly be more fun to watch it through, but when reading the book, it feels like Elinors story, like it’s through her eyes...either way I need this!
Yeah, it's definitely Elinor's story. Most of Austin's heroins have good sense. Mind you, I always loved Persuasion the best. I feel like the fact that the characters are older, and that it's their second chance at love, makes the story more compelling.
Give Edward a backbone and I’d love to see what they do with his ex, who has her claws dug in
Ok, just realized I'm again in a Pemberley marathon: rewatched all LBD ( and related), and now started rewatching Emma. Guys, you REALLY need a new webseries, like, now. Getting my fix in other channels is not enough for the addiction you created. Seriously.
right on!
I know! Its been forever
Little Women was so bad. If you haven't looked into it, don't. Or go for it if you want to see something REALLY crash and burn. So bad.
Liz Harper to be honest, the beginning was brutal, but it got better later on in my eyes
Wasn't it a separate channel owned by someone else?
I COME FROM EPISODE 72! And WOW, what a journey awaits you viewers!!!
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR EMMY WIN, YOU AWESOME PEOPLE!!
Girl you are me
So this is the more realistic adaption of Emma, more realist than Clueless.
DID YALL SEE THE ENGAGEMENT RING COMMERCIAL WITH THE ACTORS THAT PLAY ALEX AND EMMA
IT WAS SO CUTE OMG
No! Do you have a link?
so cute!!!
please do an Anne of green Gables version of this or something like The lizzie diaries... I hope to see more of your works ~
Have you seen Green Gables Fables?!
@@kamanonickname nooooo 😱🥺
Anybody else rewatching this after the latest episode to see how far Knighthouse has come?
And Knightley in this adaption reminds me of Johnny Lee Miller, who is my favourite Mr Knightley yay!
I come from episode 64, and wow have things changed
Ya I came back here after watching that episode..... LOTS of things have changed.
I really hope you do an interpretation of Persuasion, I think it would be amazing!!!
Just saw Joanna (Emma) and Brent (Knightley) as a couple in a diamond ring advertisement. The people overseeing the chemistry test between these two knew what they were doing :)
I didn't even know this existed until now...why was I not informed! Thank god for Tumblr.
Hmmm. Rewatching for the 3rd time. I think their office uses Domino from the Gigi mini-series!
AHH YES GOOD CATCH
Went back to see what Emma used to be like. And my god she's changed...
Rewatching! At first I stopped watching this because it seemed really fake compared to TLBD, but this Emma really grows on you. I'm loving it!
Watching this right after i watched LBD series
This whole webseries adaptation of classics is interesting. I’ve watched The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, The Autobiography of Jane Eyre, and The March Family Letters, which were all based on books that I had read. Whereas I haven’t read Emma, so this should be interesting.
Did they delete the Autobiography from Pemberly, I can’t find it?
Thanks to your comment I watched The Autobiography of Jane Eyre, it was quite amazing though different! (A bit disappointed with the ending, to be honest, but really great overall)
@@fancyfree535 The Autobiography of Jane Eyre was not a Pemberley Digital production.
Re-watching this gem since the series is almost finished ( :( ). Can't believe how much Emma changed! Amazing acting from Joanna. I actually starting to like EA more than LBD (fangirls, please don't kill me).
Can we just acknowledge that Joanna Sotomura (Emma) and Brent Bailey (Alex) are dating in real life now? It's pretty much the best thing in the world.
And Hank Green is at it AGAIN! Adapting works of my favorite author and poking at my forever-aloneness with ridiculously attractive men ...... Damit Hank I think I love you
ps. the alpaca approves
so who else is marathoning emma approved because of episode 64?
I can never get enough of the Emma and Alex chemistry. Please make a new web series! I miss seeing new content.
Rewatching with popcorn and wine. I miss this Web series so much.
to all of you who are watching this for the first time... prepare to hate then love Miss Woodhouse! :)
Just finished Green Gables Fables, needed this to keep me breathing
I'm glad they got rid of the winks
Just finished my yearly Emma reading and I have to say, this adaption of Emma is one of my favourites! This and the 2009 BBC version with Romola Garai. Joanna Sotomura really captures what Emma means to me!
Eeee!! It's Emma! *fangirl squee*
Spot on with the characterization so far! Can't wait to see what happens next. Emma was my first Austen novel, so it will always have a special place in my heart. (Though P&P is my favorite...)
Having just finished the book, I decided to come back and watch all of these again.
She really has grown up SO MUCH. Though there is still a lot of development to go - she really isn't the same person in Ep 64 that she is here.
Rewatching this for the third time. I'll always come back to it.😂
I love Emma in general. She's a good hearted person that has flaws. Thank god for that.
So glad we didn't have to wait a year to see Knightly!
WHY DID IT ENDD!!! I'M GONNA MISS THIS SHOW SO MUCH! FRANKENSTIEN IS OK (shit), BUT NOTHING ON LIZZIE AND EMMA!
Anyone else rewatching because they saw Twitter and got excited?
I saw Alex on a TV commercial! I don't remember what it was for, but I recognized his beautiful face!
After Lizzie Bennet Diaries, now Emma Approved. :D Excited!
I love Knightley after 3 seconds.
Loved seeing you all last night at the CZcams Space LA. Huge congrats once again on the Emmy. I am officially hooked and plan on binge watching!
He is perfect, he totally gives off the one-character-in-a-musical-who-doesn't-understand-why-everyone-is-singing vibe.
One of my favorite things about Emma is how arrogant she is while at the same time being very good-hearted. Austen did such a good job of combining two traits most people assume are oil and water.
Emma doesn't blink...
John Green trained her well
I'm a massive fan of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and I really hope this is just as good. Fingers crossed!
Emma is my FAVE Jane Austen story. can't wait to see what they do with the adaption!!
OMG love it! So perfect. Clara Oswald what a perfect description of Knightley. So excited this has begun!
I read Emma super fast so I could come and watch this and deaaaarrrr goodness this is amazinggggg.
Emma's face…blinded me…
(And before I watch any more of this I need to finish reading the damn book…)
So excited for this!! Absolutely loving the Knightley/Emma dynamic from the get-go. Awesomeness!!
This episode gets better with each re-watch. Can't wait for the next episode!
i read emma over the summer and then watched emma approved. and now i'm rereading emma for class and everytime someone in class mentions knightley i think about alex and i kind of just melt and so now im rewatching instead of doing all the other work i should be doing
Awesome series! I vote Sense and Sensibility next!!!
I spent thirty minutes waiting for this to load on my internet and it was so worth it. I'm so excited for the rest of this - looking forward to having another one of these series in my sub box.
I just LOVE how they adapted this one!!! Tbh when I first watched a couple of episodes I thought I wouldn't like it - but I LOVE it now!
i really hope they do sense and sensibility after this!
So first Pride and Prejudice and now Emma... I hope they do either Persuasion or Mansfield Park next!! :D
Persuasion! Persuasion! Persuasion!
cagneychick182 Persuasion is the best one Austen has written, I really hope that's next.
I was hoping for Northanger Abbey :) but I love Persuasion and Mansfield Park too
MissCaraMint I agree. Persuasion is my favorite.
Persuasion, Persuasion, Persuasion! Till this day I have not seen a single Persuasion adaptation that I really liked.
These actors are GEMS. I'm so excited for this!!!!
I just finished watching LBD for the third time in two weeks and am about to watch this in hopefully one day. I can all ready quote most of the episodes, and finished rewatching it three days ago. NO REGRETS!
Rewatching for the 3rd time #noshame
+Keyziahah Long lol look who's back for the 4th time 🙈
This is my second time watching. I didn't finish the series when it first aired, I think i made it to 3 episodes. re-watching this after re-watching LBD and starting Frankenstein, MD (hate the actress that plays victoria) I can see this series starts out more polished and less corny, less awkward. I may even like this better then LBD.
So excited to finally see this episode after waiting for such a long time! I really like Emma and Knightley and love the dynamic that is already evident between the two. Just as I was wondering how long I would have to wait to see Knightley, he walks on screen so that was great! Can't wait for the new episode on Thursday!
I love it! The "ding" when she winks is, to quote Lydia, "totes adorbs!"
I do agree with others who aren't a fan of seeing the phone calls. It somehow loses that specialness you get when characters interact. So excited for this series!!
YES! I was rewatching LBD when I saw a comment about an Emma (my favorite Jane Austen novel!) series. I am so freakin' excited. Now, do I finish my LBD rewatch or do I jump right into this?
do like me... just watch LBD later and watch this first hahahah
She reminds me a lot of their interpretation of Lydia Bennet.
Back here to give myself a refresher for season 2. So excited!
Just found the series, great dialogue, acting and writing gonna keep watching!
Are they using Domino? :)
I think so :DDD
Finally watching these after I finished LBD a little while ago. This one is pretty good!
Does anyone know if they're releasing any more? And when the episodes are uploaded?
Every Monday and Thursday at 9am, not counting occasional hiatuses. :)
It has just ended and I am drowning in FEELS.
Ok. I love this! And the actors are all REALLY good!
This actress plays Emma exactly the way I envisioned her when I read the book! She's not meant to be a likeable character, but that just makes me like her more.
Okay.. they just made some announcement.. 4years later... and Im... freaking out.... please tell me there are more webseries.. PLEASE
is it okay if i watch this if i never read the books...?
It's ok, but Emma is pretty good
cucumberbreezee Jane Austen created a character that "only she can like." Emma is supposed to come off as a selfish girl, with very good qualities. In the book, she has a hypochondriac father, who she is devoted to, but she thinks very highly of herself. Knightley is the brother of her brother-in-law and they are very old, good friends.
I absolutly love this! Knightly is perfect and the winking sound affect is amazing!
I've just finish LBD for the first time...I need more from Pemberley!
Why did they make George into Alex Knightley? XD But anyhow so far I like Knightley and I have always been in love with that character so much :) he is an absolute gentleman and I have always dreamed and want to marry a guy like him XD someday lol Mr.Knightley is my fav
+sayounara1232 i think it might be because of the character george wickham from the lizzie bennet diaries the same company that made this video blog modern adaptation cause of the success of that this was made so it has many of the same viewers and may cause confusion because of the direct comparison just a guess
omg so true
I am starting this now right after TLBD. Always been a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice books, movies and series, but not the same with Emma, tried the book and the movie and didn't like both, i'm giving a shot ;-; ~so far Emma is just annoying~
Ísis R. stick around for Knightley. I like him better than Darcy.
I love Pride and Prejudice and it's definitely a classic, but I must say, I've always had a special place in my heart for Emma. It's a great sort of coming-of-age story. I love the way you can see Emma making mistakes and falling for the wrong guy, it's a very relatable story. I'm looking forward to seeing this whole series!
Two months later I'm giving this series another shot. I didn't make it all the way through the first episode first go-thru but after that final exchange with Annie I think I'm hooked, at least for now.
Is Emma reminding anyone of Alison from Orphan Black?
Yes!! The Alison Hendrix-ness is strong in this one!!
Oooooooooo. Alex Knightly. Hello sweetie.
I really think each actor is doing such a good job portraying their character. Each is exactly how I would have pictured them! Bravo!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ALREADY!!!
Emma was my favourite Jane Austen novel growing up, and she is so far a PERFECT modern version of Emma, and I LOVE Mr Knightley - he's gorgeous and their friendship seems longstanding, comfortable, and believable.
Hooray! Thank you Hank, Bernie, et al. You've made me very happy. :)
Am I the only one that likes Emma more than Lizzie 😂😂
I don't like her. I had better read the book first.
Yeah that may be a good idea.
Excellent casting as usual! I really like Emma, in that she is a good amount of conceited and oblivious but also enthusiastic and charming. So excited!
Blinking at the end!! Priceless
I found you! I'm so excited to relive this and the P&P version.
Props! This is brilliant!! I actually had to recommend your channel on mine. I was just so impressed I had to share.
I'm so glad Emma is the next series project!!
I'm so happy you all decided to do Emma.
this is so awesome! Watching it the second time and reading the book and it's perfect!
SOOOO excited about this! I can't believe they made Emma!
THIS IS AWESOME!!! I love this story too and Hank did such a great job with Pride and Prejudice! Obsessed already!!!
The title is SO smart! Because that was Emma's problem all through the book, she thought she knew best and NEEDED to approve everything :) Love it!
This is is so spot on. Emma can seem oblivious but is not a bad person. She just has tunnel vision and does see what is obvious to others. Its going to be great to see the story unfold.
I'm so excited that this is getting started! I love it already!
I've seen this like ten times. I'm so excited for the next episode!
So excited for this series! Her personality it spot-on. For the first half of the book I didn't like Emma, but by the end I absolutely loved her! Can't wait to see where this progresses! I think I've watched this 5 or 6 times already...
