ROTF Devastator remains my favorite, minus the wrecking balls (though they do still get a chuckle). Even though he's just a big, lumbering beast, it fits for a hundred foot tall robot called _Devastator._ He was terrifying and had one of the coolest CGI transformations in the franchise imo. Though I can understand why people might dislike it, it was certainly different

I agree. Movie version definitely gave us a realistic definition of a Cybertronian combiner. Chances are, when a team scouts for vehiclrs, they will have different colos, thus when they finally combine, Devastator looks multicolored because of all the different vehicles. Three red vehicles, two gray vehicle, and six yellow vehicles, creating a combination out of twelve.

The constructicons were one of the best combiner teams in my opinion, especially Thier unique designs,like long haul and scavenger,hook,and I like how shattered glass devastator uses g1 ratchet color scheme
Bruticus and Devastator are my favorite Combiners hope Bruticus can make a live action appearance

My personal favorite is Bruticus. The individual parts are just so intelligent and their playable missions in Fall of Cybertron were super fun! I can easily imagine a battle with the Combaticons constantly combining and uncombining Bruticus to confuse and overwhelm an enemy.

the constructicons has always been my favorite combiner team. they aren't disloyal like the combaticons, utter psychos like the stunticons, arrogant dumbasses like the aerial bots or totally forgettable like the technobots and the protectobots.
they always felt like a proper team. they had different personalities but it never interfered with what ever the job they were given. and they took pride in the things they created. so yeah, nothing will ever beat the OG team.
I tend to forget, is Menasor the one who sounds like he has his nuts in a vice?
He goes like;

To think that the Constructicons were engineers who were supposed to do the creating but their combined mode, Devastator, is for total destruction
If you build it up, you can break it down
ROTF Devastator is unmatched. The amount of detail and overall design is so unique, it’s what arguably drew me to wanting to learn more about Transformers as a kid. To this day my favorite combiner, the Constructions especially Hightower and Scavenger/ Demolisher are my favorites design wise with how elaborated and Inhumanoid they are.

I think that rotf Devastator is the worst thing in the franchise but to each there own, I guess.

To be honest,I really liked the energon/super link combiners,I know the limbs are repaints from each other like combiner wars silverbolt,but I actually liked the combined designs of them, especially bruticus and superion, devastator,I hope if we can see an energon reissues of the combiners
RoTF Devastator will always be my favorite, I just wished that Bay and his studio team would've been able to make him more prominently featured in the film like they wanted to initially, but there really isn't much you can do when you had to render over 11 *million* polygons with the best that 2009 computing had to offer.
it's my favourite too, and, fun fact, it seems like it's based off of "The Beast", which was the Dinobot's original combiner form before it changed to Volcanicus, and it combined in a similar way to the movie, just in a more liquidy way than wires

I had the big revenge of the fallen devastator toy and it was pretty fun sure the limbs didn’t have their own robot modes but I still enjoyed it. I also don’t mind the design since it goes with what they were trying to do with the Constructicons in general in the film with the whole freaky monster robot modes.
But yeah if only they didn’t do the whole “Enemy scrotum”.
I always loved Digilaut's take of the Constructicons cause everyone looks unique and one of them is a Junkyard Dog.
(BTW, they did do Alt heads, one based Headmasters' Unit, the other is VERY much inspired by G1 and its one of my favorite Devastator head designs)
Personally I think the devastator from revenge of the fallen to me, felt like a transformer named devastator, a hulking beats which could devastate battlefields
yeah, I agree, except when they put it to bad use, heck yeah, hulking beast, but with ahem "scrotums" and taken out by missiles, bruh, those parts pisses me off

Correction: Despite the subtitle saying "devastator", TFwiki, TF movie fandom website and more says its Brawl (a combaticon).
I've come to the ultimate conclusion about the choices from the Michael Bay live action movies: he just didn't care. He named him Devastator because he has the mentality of a teenage boy and thought it sounded badass. He also had no respect for the franchise.
Would’ve liked to see Animated Devastator, would’ve been funny to see Bulkhead become a part of him and be a sort of unofficial Constructicon! My favourite design though for Devastator would have to be his Devastation one, the cell shading mixed with Generation One was good!
In my opinion, I still think the live action Devasator version is the weakest one. Though, Constructicon Maximus is my second least favorite because of the lazy components but different colors. G1 devasator still the best one and to make the very first transformers combiner in history.
It is confirmed that bulkhead would have combined with dirt boss ,scrapper and mixmaster to form devastator in TFA season 4.
My favourite Devastator was from IDW05. Where I and the Constructicons, becomes Devastator. They were great pawns.
Hound or Jetfire would be a good tier list to do next for design

Honestly, my favorite Devastator has always been ROTF Devastator. I like that it’s much more unique to G1, and I like the ideas that went into its design. But I think what would’ve been awesome to see in the Bay films would be the Combaticons to be properly implemented into at least one of the films.
I also like the beasts aspect in the bay films.
I would think it would be cool if Bruticus was a griffin.
@@ericm.8110 they really had another chance to implement the Combaticons in TF5 with Onslaught. I mean, I can think of a way that Quintessa could’ve brought back the dead Combaticons and maybe even make new ones to help with the final fight.

Devastator, just like all cybertronians, is alien. He doesn't have to look like a giant human. His design in Bayverse is original and unique, it's a really good take on a giant ALIEN robot, who's primary purpose is to destroy stuff.
I don't care about g1 - it's boring and stupid, and there's a lot of it. Bayverse Devastator is interesting and unique, and I love him.
As someone who love other combiners like defensor,superion,menasor etc...,I actually quite liked devastator,he's really iconic,and his design is really great,and I think that combiner wars devastator is still a decent figure,I wish if we can a new devastator with a better plastic quality,plus I wish if animated devastator wasn't cancelled,and it's stupid how Hasbro said that it cancelled because it's expensive,and they are doing a impossible figures like haslab Unicron plus rotf devastator was also a reason why animated devastator got cancelled,rotf devastator is ugly and ruined the character in my opinion,I wish if other combiners can get the same attention as devastator

Prowlerstator was my favorite. Especially after Prowl has to come to grips with the fact that he's now deep down Constructicon Green and the fact that they literally share his memories. Prowl is basically Ratchet if he was a cop.

i had that mega power bot and i loved it. when you pulled the decepticon symbol down hed say a line and the buzzsaw in his chest would spin. he was cool
I'm surprised at how much I liked Zone OVA Devastator. He is like an upgraded futuristic version of our regular familiar G1 Devastator, with a cape, crown, and drill instead of sword. He is like Coronation Starscream compared to regular Starscream, except he didn't get evaporated by the likes of Galvatron.
A thing with Constructicon Maximus/ Classics Devastaor Maximus is that the toy is the most stable one out of the three combiners. It can pull off some good poses, doesn't need to have a leg doing the splits and has decent articulation. Bruticus Maximus comes on second place since he is a stable combiner but has his own issues and Superion Maximus....not the most stable one out of the group.
I find it comical that like the ass of devastator comes up as a tier determination factor. Also ‘07 devastator was actually supposed to be the Combaticon Brawl. I can’t remember why the name was changed though
You finally raking devastator,i would love you include war within devastator,basically devastator with cybertronian alt modes,unfortunately it only has one image from the comics,aslo the concept art only has black and white.
My favorite is one you denigrated, and that would be All Hail Megatron Devastator. If you bothered to examine it for more that a couple seconds you'd see the design is quite clever. They redesigned him so that you don't need external pieces to form the big guy. The treads, which are usually just sitting at the shoulders, now make the forearms. and the lack of chest piece is an extension of that. This version of Devastator is the minimalist version, and I kinda love that about him.
If you think about it when making Devastator, even with the updates that the toys have brought, you can't actually form Devastator without including extra pieces. The arms just pop up out of nowhere, The purple chest piece doesn't actually integrate into them and Hasbro had to turn them into weapons and accessories to justify them outside of the combined form. All others at most just need hands and feet added.

I was always a bit partial to the yellow G2 version-they were at least colored like real construction vehicles and not tennis balls.
Check the imaginarium art devastator statue or the gravity builder toy made by generation toys. They are the perfect modernized g1 devastators.
You know when I was re-introduced to Devastator in the Bayfilms, I looked at it and made me go “WTF is that thing?” and then though nothing of it but when it slowly clicked to me that it was suppose to be Devastator of the Constructicons, I couldn’t believe what the hell I was looking at!
You guys should add the cocept art for the movie devastator in which he was more humanoid.
"LET THE SLAUGHTER BEGIN!" could have been a great quote to use. And if you put something into the bottom Tier with this quote you could hahve said "Slaughter It".

I love the idw Prowlstator. Probably the most interesting thing thats been done with Devastator or Prowl as characters. The look into combine psychology was neat.

Sorry guys, but I don't really get it... """Devastator""" from 2007 Bay's Transformers movie, was named Brawl there in Italy, so I know him as Brawl in the first Transformers movie
The name "Devastator" was actually an editing mistake. Brawl is his real name, and he's called that in all the merchandise, comics and games. During production of the movie, one of Brawl's working names was Devastator, with the name Brawl being decided late in production. Sadly, the editing department didn't get the memo.

I think, much like Wreck-Gar and Prowl, Animated would have likely given us a different yet inspired update on Devastator's design. It's a shame everything, bar Bayformers, sticks too closely to G1.
My Best Devastator is from TF: ROTF, I like to get full dark mustard colors palette, eyes to be Light Red and Contructicons too.

Apparently rotf devastator had a very fitting name. He would “devastate” the animation teams computers and crash them whenever they tried fully rendering him 😅.
I prefer the Jinbao Oversized Gravity Builder design. It's like what G1 felt like when I was 6.
