    Paul has had an amazing voice for decades. He's toured none stop it seems like with little breaks in-between.. Probably one of the hardest working bands in the world has alot to do with his voice along with other issues that comes with age..

      @@thomascavanaugh5895 Paul actually ruined his voice when he played Phantom of the Opera. They had him learn a different technique. I've seen KISS over 75 times with the first being when I was 8 in 1977. There's no way this was Paul live as it sounded great.

      I have to disagree with hum ruining his voice with learning to sing differently for Phantom. He sand properly during that run, and that won't ruin your voice. My opinion is when he first had the vocal surgery, he didn't take enough time off. He had the procedure and then was at on tour within that same year. I wanna say 6 mths but I can't remember. He should've taken off a year and then work with a vocal coach to make sure he wasn't damaging his voice. It was weird, I saw him on his solo tour, and he sounded amazing, and then just 2 years or so later he started having serious issues. It just happened so quick. But Paul will never say what was wrong and/or what happened. He keeps a wall up between the public and his personal life.

    Paul Stanley is one of my favorite singers of all time. Major vocal problems were evident since at least 2008. By 2018, his voice was basically completely shot. His performance of Love Gun in Barcelona that year is an example. On the 2018 KISS Kruise he started miming to backing tracks. He sometimes sings some of the vocals - such as the first verse of Detroit Rock City. These tracks were then used starting on the End of The Road tour that started in 2019 and continues until December 2023. czcams.com/video/VPDFQoqLN40/video.html

    If you listen to the early kiss albums and the 80s kiss albums now what I noticed about the 80s kiss albums is that not only are they some of my faveroutes but vocally wise seem a lot more challenging to sing and certainly combine that with the constant touring over the years it has definatly taken a big toll on Paul’s voice but I’ll give him credit up till a few years ago kiss had been doing fantastic shows and you could tell it was live not pre recorded

    As far as the lisp, I've noticed that since the '70s. I always attributed it to his microtia and being deaf in one ear. I am no speech expert but I noticed that many hearing-impaired people have a similar impediment. Regarding his voice, his "stage" voice is very different, much higher, than his speaking voice. It must have been a strain over the decades. His recent Motown covers album, where he sings in a more relaxed voice, seems to me to be more in his range, for lack of a better term.

I was lucky enough to see Paul's solo tour in Sydney and he blew the roof off the house that night vocally speaking. Now that was Feb 2007. I still remember watching letterman 2009 and it was the first time I became aware his voice was having problems. He was in my opinion the greatest singer in rock before that. Ngl that backing track or paul's chorus vocals sound tuned to hell (and with tuned I mean like production went over the vocals)

    I think the lisp is the result of being deaf in one ear since birth.

    Sadly, most of what your hearing is pre-recorded. He doesn't sing all his songs live anymore. Only 2-3 per show. That said have a listen to my voice. I don't practice that much. Maybe you could use one of my songs for training (on what not to do!)

    When you are constantly critical of all other bands and even your own band mates. Carma may come to you. Paul has had horrible things to say and I.M.O. he is paying the price. That was a Covid show. Funny they screwed the fans who payed for V.I.P. packages.

    These are a bunch of old men, probably hit musical menopause and have harmonic imbalances. He's down a full step at least. I think he does have a lisp. Maybe Gene bit his tongue and he felt the pain?

    The problem with Paul Stanley's voice is he was never a proper singer. Paul was a screamer and he has screamed into a microphone for 50 yrs. Paul never took proper care of his voice and he never used proper singing techniques. Now I know Paul had surgery on his vocal chords but that was because he didn't properly care for his voice. Other singers in his age range don't have problems with their voices because they took care of themselves. Kiss needed to retire about 15 yrs ago.

    • @rickr2029
      @rickr2029 Před rokem +2

      Thomas, in part you do NOT know as much as you think you do. Paul most certainly DID have proper technique and he gives the credit I believe to SLS Speech Level Singing. It is well known that Paul was a student of SLS of which was Seth Riggs outfit. I recall hearing Paul give credit a LOT to his proper technique as a result of his training with SLS. If I am not mistaken this was around the reunion tour or possibly before but Paul would always get hit with the question of how he kept his voice in such good shape. And the answer would always be the same.
