  • Zimbabwe Urges Citizens to Use Cycles to Commute | Firstpost Africa
An unhealthy lifestyle leads to multiple issues like obesity, incorrect posture and heart problems among others. However, Zimbabwe has come up with a solution to resolve these problems. The Zimbabwean authorities are urging citizens to use cycles to commute to their workplaces in a bid to not only solve health problems but also promote a clean environment. Cycling will also help citizens overcome the shortcomings posed by the lack of proper infrastructure as Zimbabwe reels under a broken public transport system and fuel shortages. It is also an economic solution for citizens battling hyperinflation and an unstable currency. To know more, watch our video.

Although it is indeed cheaper and eco-friendly to cyle, it is easy to tell others to ride/cycle for their everyday life interactions and commuting whilst you drive or at most are being driven in a fancy car bought with the poor taxpayers taxes.
Quick question, though: does he ride to work, or does he ride for the fun and health of it?🤔

Fuel needs to be affordable so no point speaking about fuel if the average person can't afford it

Can't provide the people that voted for him public transportation but want them to ride bicycles for their everyday lives. I'd like to see the mayor riding a bicycle along with his bodyguards to work😅

You cannot prove that cycling is healthy when there's no cycle track to ride the bicycle. Let cycling come as a choice not the last option

Again they pick the worst parts of Zimbabwe which you can count with one hand. Why didn't they show people in low density suburbs cycling and not those out of necessity?

Big joke! You would be taking your life in your hands should you be brave enough to venture onto the potholed roads and non-existent cycle tracks. Not to mention having to compete with the country’s chaotic traffic and maniacal drivers.
