In an interview the casting director actually said that they were very unnerved by Ewan's audition, he did make intense eye contact with everyone, and after that they didn't even consider anyone else.
So, that's exactly how it went down lol
It's so funny seeing him on screen sometimes, cause it looks like his head has been superimposed onto his body. Like it looks waaaay bigger than it should.

The cast of HotD might be one of my favorite casts to watch, everyone just seems to really get along and despite the fame coming with shows as big as this, they seem really down to earth.
