  • Triple FAT Goose Hyland Down 3 in 1 Jacket Review - High-End Arctic Parka
The Triple FAT Goose Hyland Down jacket is a high end, Artic ready down waterproof jacket. I tested this puffy in all kinds of conditions here in Colorado. In this video, I was using it winter camping in 8-degree temps with only a t-shirt. That is nuts! Seriously, it was cold AF out and all I was using for 14 hours was this jacket and a t-shirt.
There is 8 ounces of 750+ fill down, plus a 20K waterproof breathable membrane jacket in this parka. The WPB jacket is actually more like a softshell in how it feels and sounds. Just listen to the video, there is no crinkle sound.
This would make a great urban jacket for cold weather. Yet, it passes the serious outdoor test as you see in this video.

I got their Huron parka this year and I absolutely love it. 15.5oz of down plus a fur ruff and waterproof with magnetic closures. Amazing!

I went with the Chenega II $700 parka and absolutely love it. I'd have to test it in the snow now!

Another great video. I've hesitated buying a 3 in 1 since I've heard about losing heat through the zipper area since there is less insulation near the zippers while zipped in. Any issues with that ? What are your thoughts ? Thanks again for the great video.

Reginald, you are awesome! Thank you for the kind words my friend. To answer your question, I did not find heat loss in that area. This 3 in 1 is TOASTY! Hope that helps you stay warm!

Nice review, I especially like how you not only give the size of the jacket, but along with your height and arm length; very helpful! Are you affiliated though? Thanks!

Thanks! I really hope those details help with others finding the best sizing. We are not affiliated with Triple Fat though. They did sent this over for us to test. Thanks for the stoke!

Yes my jacket I don't feel does the best in rainy conditions with the fur around the face. I think on the wet days or day of the storm this type of jacket that you are now showing is more appropriate. Usually the day after the storm especially if there's increased cold and wind is when I would go back to my normal arctic coat.

Bought a couple TFG jackets and coats in the 80’s, they were the warmest coats I’ve ever owned! They clearly weren’t $800+ back then...more like $100-$150. But I guess I’ll have to shell that out if I want a new one.

Hello! Things have definitely gone up in price over the years. Here is the ost recent one we reviewed for them and it is half the price of this one.

Is this jacket good for -40 in Lapland?

Wow! That is dang cold! I have not used it down to that temp. But it is quite a bit of good down. I suppose it also depends on what layers you are using as well.
