- What separates average and good bowlers is the ability to have an optimal release. In other words, good bowlers can stay more behind the ball before the release and have more chances to strike, or at least get more pin counts. If you want to elevate your level from average to a good bowler, whether you are one-handed or two-handed, this video is for you.

I just discovered this lately during my practice and league, I never knew that there was a video regarding "OPEN HIPS" vs 'SQUARE HIPS" and this video VALIDATE the LEVEL UP ADVANTAGE of doing OPEN HIPS, awesome. Thank you
We are on the same boat 🚤😁
Great tip! You just earned my follow! Keep the tips coming!
I will keep it coming! There’re more to explore with this sport. Thanks for dropping bro 😎
Gosh, you are just telling the naked truth where most of us have never been taught. A big thank you!!
Yay! I finally shared this naked truth after 12 years of bowling. I'm so happy to do it :D
Thank you! Believe it or not, I have been bowling 1-handed for 60 years and will be attempting, as a 73 year old, to switch to 2-handed this summer. If nothing else, it will help delay my other arm from moving to the side, help me open my hips, and lower my shoulder at release. My primary goal is to get my hand behind the ball, rather than on top, so I can produce more area on the lane and increase my strike percentage.
Sir, my honor to have you here. 60 years of bowling is such a long time. Your validation is amazing!
Great video!
I love the way you break down abstract bowling concepts into simple principles and visuals. The way you construct your script as well shows cogence and thoughtfulness, with a really great pace of narration (which I think is impressive, considering the assumption that English is not your only/native language?). Thanks for all your hard work, man!
Your comment makes my day bro! :D English is not my native language. You are right. I will keep this pace of narration in the up coming video. Your feedback helps me a lot in improving my future video and English :D
I'm leaving for bowling soon. If this works. We're breaking the internet with this video.
Let's break the internet bro 😂
Did it work? 🤣
Easier said than done
Did it work
This is actually spot on. My arm always came behind me. I still averaged 190-200 in league. But this could’ve helped back in my day
Now you know it! :D
I had the same experience. I messed around with bowling 2 handed for a practice session and then when I went back to one handed my hips and shoulders were in much better positions.
Yahhhh bro, I can feel yah. We are on the same page :D
I am glad to watch videos similar to this one. Because it is telling me that when I was a much younger man if I wanted to I could've turned pro. Even though I wasn't a 200+ average bowler. That is because there were things that other bowlers better than me were doing that made them better than me that I wasn't doing. But I could've starting doing all of those things and turned pro of I wanted to.
Yes we can turn to the pro if we want, sir! I believe so. We shouldn't resist our capacity to grow :D
Great video.
For most of my bowling life, I struggled doing wrong things with my left arm. Probably would have helped to do some practice two handed bowling to fix it.
What helped me a lot was getting two pound weight that wrapped around my wrist. Which allowed me to be more aware of where my arm was.
Only the past few months is my left arm finally where I really want it to be, in front of my body, with shoulders open.
We are on the same boat bro :D I'm happy to hear that you found the way out!
Excellent video. It took me a hella long time to figure this out. Since doing so my game has elevated to much higher levels.
And hardly does anyone tell us about this on most of the bowling tutorials 🙁
Thanks for sharing a video for one handed bowlers too!!!
We are bowlers by the end of the day bro 😁 1 or 2 handed are just personal options. High performance , beautiful style and happiness are our mutual goals 💪
Great video! Thank you! I’ve subscribed. I’ve been struggling with releasing my ball away from the ankle. I’ve tried cupping the ball etc, but it’s still looking as if I side-roll the ball upon release. I had been consciously clearing my hip during setup too, so my swing was straight, but it doesn’t help either. I had been thinking that it could be my balance arm and was looking for just specifically THIS on CZcams. You’re a life saver! You’ve confirmed what I have suspected and now I know WHAT EXACTLY TO FIX, instead of second guess everything! So thank you!!!
And thank you for kindly saying that our body naturally ‘tend to clear the ball’. Somehow, it felt it wasn’t a bad thing, out body did do us good by doing its job or that it wasn’t our fault..😅
Hi Rosa, my beautiful lady. You also confirmed it :D It's not out fault indeed Rosa.
A really, really great video! Thank you.
Sir, long time no see :D So happy to see you again!
Great tip! This explains why my backswing goes behind my back. Will definitely try this!
Once you've tried it, please let me know the result bro :D
Also be sure your push away is straight out - and in any event not out toward your bowling side. For example, not out at that break point. BUT keep your hips and shoulders facing that break point at all times from set up to release. I was pushing ball out to my right side a bit and then the ball went behind my head then it would come down and out to the right too far.
Be sure your push away is straight out => I agree with you Richard. I do exactly what you say. Are you using the pre-set alignment? Meaning you turn your body and hips towards the target direction.
Damn! another great and useful video, simple tips as usual :D
Enjoy it bro 😎
Thank you🙏
Enjoy my friend 😀
Whoa! Learn something new everyday! 🤔👍
Yes everyday. I love it 😻
Thx u, great tip
Thank you for dropping by and leaving a comment bro. Enjoy the game! :D
I really liked your video on learning to keep NB arm out front, not coming around the ball, and keeping my hips open!
You know what Richard, there are some bowlers who keep NB arm out front from day 1. They even don’t know why they did that but they bowl really well. I guess they bring this technique from other sport to bowling. So this might be a success model which should be applied to many other bowlers. I believe it can save us lots of time to have an optimal release 😀
你真的很棒,提點了很多,謝謝!
Thank you so much for your support Jack! I do appreciate it. You motivated me to share more :)
i'll try it
Let me know if it works Michael :D
Thank u I will try this.
Please let me know your experience so that I can shape my tutorial for more bowlers :D
I will
Excellent advice what do you think if I move my none bowling arm forward then down ?? That's the still I do but I like your advice
Forward and down, sure you should try, that's the arm position of many other sports like baseball or tennis. I believe that bowling is not an exception :D
good thought, I tried throw two-handed just for fun and your explanation is good.
Great things sometimes start from something fun bro :D Thanks for dropping by
Hey man can you explain how you should hold the ball when initially setting up? I can’t find anything that feels comfortable.
Hi bro, do you mean holding the ball in 1 or 2 handed style? In case it is the 2 handed style, this is my initial holding instagram.com/p/CySymDqvXey/ Then I tuck my elbow in.
You can give me your picture or videos, I can have a look.
@@BowlismOutlaw Yeah I meant for 2 handed style. Thanks for the picture that helps a lot! I'm going bowling tonight and I'll get some videos for you. Thanks for the help bro!
@@BowlismOutlaw How can I send you a video?

Yes! She is my idol 🥰
Hi, is this tip also help when I want to release the ball near the leg? Bcs rn I have a habit to throw my ball on the outside😢
Definitely yes bro. When your hips are open, your downswing has more space to travel so it will automatically be close to your ankle without any effort. You are totally right! Let's try it.
Question- I have a timing problem as far as getting my trail leg out of the way for my swing thru. I feel that’s why I don’t get close enuf to my slide foot. Thoughts ?
Thanks for the interesting video.
@stevekeller3643: I guess you might be right about the timing issue but it's best that I can see your timing in a video. You can send me your bowling video if it's convenient thru my instagram: instagram.com/_happybowler102_/ . I'm happy to help if you need.
I have the same problem and can't get close to my ankle. Which I noticed is important when creating angles and trying to come from the left side, which I can do neither😅. Every time I try, my ball goes straight and then curves or continually goes over the second arrow
I can feel you. Many of my bowling friends have the same feeling but they don’t know how to solve it. I hope this tip might help them out.
팔보다는 상체의 기울기와 안쪽으로 들어오는 스탭이 중요한포인트같은데
Yes, we call it lateral and horizontal spine tilt :D It's a must of every bowler.
Korean translation: 네, 우리는 이것을 측면 및 수평 척추 기울기라고 부릅니다. :D 모든 볼러의 필수입니다.
How about that side step contributing to the open hip position🤔
No no, that side step is just my own improvisation 😜 not relevant
Two handed is goofy. Remember,m thats how we bowled back when i was maybe 8 years old. The plastic bowling ball that you couldnt put fingers in... to hit plastic pins.
Everytime I see two handed bowling... it reminds me of that. so strange
Yeah the 8 years old boy’s hand is still not big enough to hold the ball. 😂
와 엄청 많이하던 고민이었는데 여태 봤던 영상은 쓰레기였습니다. 내가 찾던게 이거에요 ㅠㅠㅠ
Enjoy brother 😎 Korea has lots of great and beautiful bowlers
It’s called “swimming” upon launch.
Exactly “swimming” or butterfly swimming 😂
Swimming , like the breast stroke underwater
