I used to be a huge police supporter.. This year alone I got pulled over 3 times for the 'crime' of having dark window tint. Got tickets all 3 times ($250 each) the 1st one, the cop saw a knife inside my car and treated me like a criminal.. "get out of the car, hands behind your back, patted me down and searched the car without consent. Wrote me the ticket and left me defenseless by taking my knife and pocket knife. I do delivery around the Boston area btw.. Lots of crazy around here...
The 2ndd time, I explained to the guy that I was in the process of getting a medical exemption, I even showed him my medical records that were requested by the doctor... he thanked me for opening all the windows as I always do when I get pulled over because I know it makes them feel safer, and gave me a ticket anyway...
The 3rd time, by a state trooper, I had the medical exemption signed by the doctor already, but it wasn't approved by the rmv yet... cop questioned me for like 5 min, went back to his car and came back with 3 citations.. warning for the tint, ticket for a cracked mirror and a ticket for the height (as he described it) he noticed how confused I was and said "well, you have to pay something" meaning, 'I didn't stop you in vain...
So, how many bad experiences do you need to have with an organization before you just say F them all.. now imagine millions of people who have been through similar or worse... what I'm trying to get at here is, the reason people hate cops so much is because of the cops themselves... they screw over their own communities with these ridiculous traffic stops and cry and complain that no one 'appreciates' them.
So from a previous police supporter, I now say F THE POLICE, I HOPE THEY DO GET DEFFUNDED!!!! I don't need them, I can take care of myself.
Let’s not pretend as if teachers and police officers ever received what they ought to. Before all the political stuff they’ve been severely underpaid. This hasn’t just started it’s been a long time coming and it’s a sad reality.
Cops make over a 100k in most metro areas and live way above the median and income in all others.

People can only take so much and civil servants are often punching bags for the public. It's incredibly sad because most are honest and hardworking people who do a very stressful job. Yet there are those who never been in those situations, or worked those types of jobs constantly judging you. I don't blame teachers, police officers, or any civil servants for leaving. The public loves to play the blame game instead of talking about actual solutions to problems.
@@stevenbritton6288 those people can find great pay as certified police for over $100k, the problem is they keep saying the words “I don’t…..”. I don’t feel sorry for anyone who isn’t improving their own situation.
Currently in the academy for the Birmingham PD, is it really worth it? I ask myself that every day as I wake up at the crack of dawn. There’s no respect for recruits, there have been 6 homicides over the weekend in the city. And half of the department is under the age of 30 and understaff over 300 officers. It was once a goal of mine but not really so much more. I’m currently at the half way point but I’m feeling a little discouraged. My life is worth much more than a paycheck and benefits; I want to live to see my children get grown and prosperous.
Just not worth it no more. Covid made me realize how short life is. Family is everything. There are far better jobs out there.

@@RJweblink No job is perfect but there are jobs that are higher stress than others. I have left several, not going to deal with mess on the job anymore. I have lowered my stress tremendously!!
I expected stress... but having my soul sucked and my mental sanity brought to the breaking point...with no sign things will improve or that I would advance in a meaningful way despite my excellent productivity or service (reported by others, those I served, and in data spread sheets)... you have got to leave.

Good cops quit because of all the bad cops. My father was an officer for 20 years and made sure I didnt follow him.
Good cops quit because cities have liberal policies that reward criminals that were arrested while endangering the officers that arrest them, whom also earn way too little.
How come other countries around the world respect their police, teachers, parents and elders but not America?
As one of those non-Americans, I can assure you, it’s not exclusively American cops-I will concede that they are the lowest of the low when it comes to police in a democratic nation. But Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand and a host of others are waking up to the police state and growing millions have begun to despise the costumed cowards occupying the jackboots on their throats.
They are ALL the Uvalde PD. They are ALL the Memphis Scorpions.

Chicago PD starts officers at $51,000 annually which is gross, net is probably more like $32,000. I make twice that driving forklift in a warehouse and I don't have to worry about my name being plastered all over CNN, or being thrown in prison or even killed for making a mistake. Chicago PD just attempted to hire men from it's trades unions who were laid off and they just laughed and said, "We'll stay on unemployment." You would have to be crazy to be a cop in America today, the pay sucks, the hours suck, and the environment sucks. No thank you!!!!!!

All I see the police do in my city is give speeding tickets. I mean, when we had a car stolen out the driveway, they didn't even come over. There are crazy high people under bridges running around.
I'm just saying...I'm sure I am missing all the violent come to my house calls. We could use more law and order dealing with social issues on the streets too.

If you're quitting due to increased accountability, which I'm sure is a lot of it, those are the ones you don't want with badges anyhow.
That's why they freaked out when someone mentioned taking firearms rights away from domestic abusers, about 40% of cops couldn't carry a service weapon anymore.

It not due to additional accountability but rather the job is impossible with a lack of community support. Our Leaders at every level have thrown the cops under the bus. 👎👎Cops have always been held to a higher standard & rightly so.
why teachers and principals? The problem with society is the lack of moral judgement and character. Teachers and principals are directing the nations youth to total depravity.
Maybe, just maybe if cops would get rid of bad cops they would get more respect.

I am curious what is your thought process. Do you think ALL officers are bad? There are good police officers as well. Not all of them are bad. They are never shown to the light and good officers are leaving while bad ones stay. The media never gives praise to good officers and only shows the bad ones. What do you think?

I went to school to be an Elementary Education teacher and worked for the district for seven years before I realized I can’t be part of the multicultural circus that was figuratively shoved down my throat. That was in 2010 and I tell any person that will sit still long enough how terrible teaching is.
Knowing several cops they all got into law because they were picked on alot in school. From them.

The military is having troubling recruiting and retaining service members. A lot of service members have been discharged from the military due to refusing to take the Covid shot.
That’s a terrible idea, and I don’t think many service members want the job of the civilian police. When a soldier kills someone it never makes the news. When a cop kills someone they are scrutinized by millions who don’t even have 1/4th of the details. I don’t think soldiers want to be in that position. Being a cop is a thankless job in this day and age.

More people die in preventable car crashes than are murdered. If cops are trying to keep people safe, they will enforce traffic laws. DUI’s account for a good about of homicides.
Plus, you have no right to drive a car. No where in the constitution does it say you have a right to drive a car. And the Articles of Confederation were superseded by the U.S Constitution , so those are irrelevant.
You may own a vehicle. But because driving is dangerous, you must be licensed to drive. The State can take away your license if you suck at driving.

People only post videos about negative experiences not the positive ones. 99% of officers have never brutalized anyone and nobody pays them any attention. People only ever see what the worst of the worst officers do and think this is typical of all officers. It isn't.

Some police officers let the power get to their head; they are actually criminals in uniforms. However, the majority of them who are quitting are actually great officers who don't see the need to do their job because of the uprising against police. I have been profiled and stopped many times for made up reasons and I've never had a criminal record; actually one of the crazy encounters was I've been pulled over twice in the same night going home from the gym. I don't want to play victim here but police harassment is real and I see why it's an issue in the black community.
