I can understand your boy's choice fully as the the musical background in a family influences mostly the kiddies. My youngest son was an absolute fan of Chris Rea (Driving home for Christmas), in the age of TWO!!! Nowadays, as an adult, he plays a masterly Blues Harp, my daughter uses to sing in Choir Projects and my oldest son plays Guitar, as far as he is not limited in time by his IT-job.
