In this video I get the new V5 Arrma Notorious and take it for a spin and learn how to drive this RC. Its got a lot of new parts and upgrades plus all new electronics! This thing is a beast! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
"Why you complaining about the stickers"...."Cuz stickers are supposed to stick!" LOL, great answer.
That’s better 😊😊 I’m sure all of us who voted for the Notorious wanted/expected you to get the V5 - you look and sound so much happier 👍🙂🙂👌
Thats the one I have now. I cant wait to get it dialed in.
I think I figured out why I like watching your videos because you’re having so much fun it’s fun to watch!!!!!!!
Thanks thanks 🙏
Glad you are enjoying this one alot more! They did a great job with the upgrades. Awesome!
Man you have hands down the best RC car channel. I’m pretty new to cars and trucks coming from FPV quads and I’m learning a BUNCH from from you so your work is much appreciated sir!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad my channel helps you
Just shows how much difference a decent radio makes.
Yep.
What's a good radio in your opinion?
@@jeremiah1528 Oh there are a lot. I have a Spektrum DX5c that I use on some of mine. I hear the Rugged is good also.
@@outsourcedrc thank you...
@@jeremiah1528 DumboRC x6 controller and receiver. That is the fastest and highest quality feeling controller I've ever had. There basically is 0 delay..
Been waiting for this video. Thoroughly enjoyed and great information
looks great ! glad youre happy with the v5! Looks like someones done some mad hooning in that car park haha !
happy RCing!
Love the video!! I'm so happy you got the v5 and like it. Looks to be a great fit for your driving style! Also, if you go thicker center diff fluid, you won't need nearly as much punch. It will change not only the launches, but how it flips in the air. The rate of change of the rotating mass of the front wheels in the air makes a huge difference in how it handles mid air flips. Once i upped my center diff fluid, double back flips became much easier. And I made a ramp based off of your 45 degree ramp. Also that front flip in the grass that was wicked cool happens super easy on this truck whenever you back out of the throttle on even a slight down hill. Keep on rocking on the videos!!! Love your channel and has helped me get through Covid!
Thank you! I'm glad my videos have helped. Thats what I'm here for.
Just watched a few of your videos and subscribed. I enjoy videos where they are informative and people just having fun and not destroying these r/c cars right out of the box.
You have the best RC videos on CZcams. You’re so much more likable than the typical other channels, never annoying, you don’t yell and act obnoxious and you don’t act like a know it all. I appreciate what you’re doing. Keep it up!
What’s next for you? Upgrading any of your Traxxas models, maybe? The latest thing seems to be the Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0. It’s pricey, but it looks like a lot of fun and it’s different from everything else you have.
For some reason - in my mind I was thinking construction of some sort was your day job, so interesting to hear you’re a graphic designer. Not sure why I thought construction...was just a hunch. An incorrect one, though.
Thanks. I just make videos I would want to see.
I'm going to do some tuning and upgrades to this Notorious.
I do graphics for fun. I actually drive a tractor trailer for a living.
As always great video. Gland you like your new V5. Arrma RC's are awesome. Thanks for sharing. John
Thanks!
I'm so glad you explained the turning thing. I've done absolutly everything I can think of to get it to turn better on power. I can stop now. haha Thanks I learned something today.
Very nice, keep your wheels/stickers on tight, that black Notorious is looking good man
👀
Those arrmas are monsters flat out, scary fast. I love it
Excellent insight and I love your opinion throughout this video series!
You are one of the best in the biz! Love your stuff!

I dont know about all that, but thanks!

I got into the hobby a month ago. Bought a traxxas raptor and ECX monster truck second hand but in great condition for fair prices and im hooked. Now im contemplating an arma and came across a couple of your videos. Instantly subscribed, I really like the depth, energy and overall vibe in your videos. keep them coming 💯 🔥
Welcome to the hobby! And Thanks!
On my Notorious and my Kraton I ran 60K F, 500K C, and 30K F. Just a suggestion. Im glad you gave Arrma another chance following the V4 video. Although it took a lot longer than I think it should have at least Arrma finally listened and swapped out the electronics (especially the garbage STX2). I currently have the V4 Kraton with a ton of upgrades and may get some of the V5 parts for it to finish it off. But for now I have it perfect. Like I said I am running the above listed diff fluids, a 15T pinion with dual fans on the motor. When I first ran the 15T pinion the ESC was over heating and shutting down. What I did to fix it was install the stock Maxx ESC fan into the BLX185. This fan has a higher amperage and spins a lot faster and is a direct fit. Just had to swap the connector. That solved the over heats and its the perfect combo of punch and speed using the 15T pinion at Punch level 6.
I just got back into RC... when I was 16 I had a team associated buggy. I love Arrma! I just got my first Arrma about 2 weeks ago and its a beast! ARRMA is the bashing king! Keep up the cool videos! btw... I would get an 8s Kraton before the 8s Outcast.✌
Glade u got you the updated one bud. They r way better than older ones .
Great 👍 Video !! Great Area for your RC by the way !
Glad you had a better experience this time 👍 If you go 500k in the center it won't bleed as much power to the front and you will be able to pull off standing backflips 🤩
Glad to see you got a current version. They are a great truck! I have found the tuck to be very durable. The body on mine has taken huge hits over and over and it's still in good shape.
Nice! How would you compare it to the granite blx 3s?
The slt3 doesn't have any sort of AVC. What is happening is the wheels are so heavy, that it is over powering the servo saver spring. I put a Kraton EXB servo saver spring in it, and it helped, but didn't completely cure it. Lighter wheels did, but then it isn't as precision controlled in the air.
Awesome show !! I love the Notorious. Truck of the Century !! My xmaxx 8s is collecting dust.
I own traxxas and arrma . When I got my v2 kraton I was amazed by its durability. My brushless erevo was a nightmare. Broke shafts all the time. Put mip shalfs in it then it would blow those little diffs they put in them. My favorite rc truck and buggy are kraton, notorious,4x4 slash,4x4 stampede, losi 5t, and hpi baja 5b. Both with full mod 34cc obr reedcase engines.
Awesome vid!! Just picked me up one this weekend.
Definitely the coolest thing about the arrmas is how well they jump. Lands so we'll
I just bought one 2 days ago....I love this rig...it’s my second arrma after my typhon 3s....so fun
It is a lot of fun.
Upgrading mine from a V1??? Love my Typhon 3s, so happy to see this comment.
I bought it yesterday. Mainly based off of your review.
Thanks
Finally got an Arrma since your Notorious unboxing. I now have both 3s and 6s Typhons. Gotta say, your love of the Typhon appearance sold me on it
HA. Awesome. I hope you enjoy it.
I bought a v4 Notorious in the beginning of 2020, and I love it. I'm not an RC expert by any means, but after a few upgrades (like the servo, servo mount, and new radio) it's incredible. I've sent it tumbling, I've sent it off dirt jumps, crashed it, brought it mudding, crashed it on asphalt, and I haven't broken anything luckily. Only thing is the knuckles for the tires keep coming loose, I have to tighten after almost every time I take it out
Mine stays broken so far lol
O ring mite be bad if loose every run
Hi Budd. I really enjoy your videos I learned alot thanks for that. I am 42 yrs old and I have a amazing nephew that I bought him a traxxs bigfoot he went crazy lol. But at the same I decided to get my first ever RC truck so I went with Arrma notorious 6s 5v I think it's a good RC for ppl yes it the proper way but main point you helped with my decision to purchase one. I can't wait tell get here damn UPS lol cheers Budd.
Awesome!
Loved this video man I’m going to buy this instead I really want the outcast but I’ll just wait for the new one coming June
@batyarearc Have you heard the Outcast new version is coming out in June then?
Nice video 🙂
About the battery tray: Well, there are 2 sides of the coin. I fully understand your logic that it is easier to use on the Traxxas cars. On the other hand, one of the main reasons why I never considered buying a E-Revo (or UDR) is the Battery tray. I hate the idea of the battery tray limiting me to special Lipos from a special brand. I have 3S Hardcase Lipos that I use in every car. Nothing wrong with your point of view though, this are just personal preferences. 😉
I got a Notorious for myself for Xmas and all my stickers were curling up as well. Fine with me. It's got too damn many decals on it anyway so I ripped most of them off. Also swapped the "Notorious" decals for the "ARRMA" decals that came with it. It's a great truck even with the 4S batteries I am running.
Haha that was awesome! Loved that flip of luck you had coming down the hill haha! 😂💯👏 Rippin through those leaves was cool too. Psh, who needs a rake? 😆 Glad to see you had so much more fun with the V5. That v4 might not be much DIFF-erent 😁 than the V5 if you get a new radio. Take care, looking forward to the next rip! 👊👊👊😈👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺
Man, thumbs up for counting the frames per second and the 6 frame pull to show how much latency
Yep. Its nearly instant.
one of the best reviews i have seen.
Thanks!
Another Great Video. I have the V4 and this version looks Great. Arrma does always step up. Im learning how to Jump no where near your skills.
It takes practice.
Great vid man🤘🏼🤘🏼🇺🇲
AVC is the correction system. Its the last dial on the top right side where your other trim settings are on your transmitter. Thicker center diff fluid should help keep front tires on the ground and less ballooning
This Notorious does not haveAVC
It's just the weight of the wheels. It actuallylooks pretty cool in my opion. My Notorious is on of my favorite trucks.
Wait what YAY!!! I did not expect this at all.
The batteries take a pounding when you have the punch seething on Max!
Try punch on 7, that’s a good compromise between power and run time. 👌
Great video by the way, best I’ve seen on the V5.
I'll mess around with the punch.
I like that you like it 👍love arrma cars
Looks better than the first version. Thanks for the update video. It isn't a Trashas Stability Manglement. And It isn't Audio Visual Control either, but back knob on the radio? AVC/Steering Rate? Yeah that is your Greek samwich gain adjustment.
I run 200k in my center diff on my Maxx to help with torque loss because I’m running 26/46 gearing. It’s crazy that it still wheelies when going full speed if just barely tap the trigger. I did an 8s swap and it was just ridiculous almost did standing backflips with the wheelie bar on.
Great vid. Have fun, don't be afraid to bash it!
Up
....
😁😁👍💯💯
Hi! Seems that you are quite happy now with the new V5 👍
The TSM effect from the front wheels in the air comes from the type of tires. Nothing to worry about. On big big jumps it helps to keep the rig stable in the air. Looks odd, but when you land they are straight again. Punch 9 is a lot. I do my extreme jumps on level 4, how it comes stock. With 1,000,000 in the Center this rig makes standing backflips 😁
Over all this rig is intended to be a stunt truck. The Kraton is the same thing but with longer wheelbase and turns under power like you would expect.
Also you can get the tires as low profile (from the Outcast 4S) with improves handling in terms of turning.
Have fun and bash on! 😘
Thanks! I'll play around with the Diff fluid.
Felt like I should share this. I dreamt about the guy buying your V4 😂 it was all cool, he liked it and knew all about the V4 before hand. He said as long as he drove fast enough you didnt didn't notice the lag
Now you have really experienced an Arrma💪. Welcome to the fam. Started back into the hobby with a Revo, ditched it to my Step-son quickly in favor of my Notorious which has evolved into a beefcaked Kraton 😁
Oh and you can fix the steering with some washers under the servo saver spring. Or get a V3 tube and a H.R locking collar (that's what I have). Hard to control. I run a Ti spool with 20/42 SAGA ⚙ being pushed by a tp 4260cm and CC MMX8S.😳 Now that's hard to control😉😎👊
@@Crewchief227 Wait, so its the servo saver causing the wheels to turn in the air during flips?
Sounds like you had fun with it. It is a stunt truck. You could really upgrade the chassis on the Notorious.
Sounds like you had a real fun run and that's the point of rc
In my opinion it makes it easier to control with thicker diff fluid in the center. I run 1 million on my notorious. Oh.. and I think the batteries last he same, time just flies when you’re having fun! Lol
Ok thank you
My hobby shop said today Spektrum is coming out with a new charger in a few weeks & it’s supposed to be much better than the current one.
We’ll hang in until it comes out & will pick them all up together
Thank you again

I’ve seen a few videos on Arrma vehicles (like Kevin Talbots) and I’m glad I went with the E-Revo for my big purchase RC. I love bashing it and have no fear of losing radio control with my 2 year old nearby. I can send it on jumps and it’s built so well. I really enjoy your honest videos. Keep it up, I know it must be a good amount of work to put them together.
Awesome 👍😎 I really love your videos 🙂
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing 👍
I’m glad you had a better experience the second time around because that is a lot of money.
Yeah. I had to pay even more for this one because I sold the V4 at a loss.
thanks for changing my mind on what truck to get hehe
You are welcome!
Great videos guy 💪🏼
Thanks!
The front bumper lol "DO NOT BASH. BLAST"
Thanks for the video. Did you just swap the V4 for V5 or did you get the V5 as well?
Kinda swapped. I sold the V4
Probably the Inertia of the tires and weak servo saver, my slash 4x4 does it too and I don’t have tsm
Just ordered the same truck, glad I did after watching this.👍
It’s fun, but I have to fix it all the time.
@@outsourcedrc I don't mind fixing them , but all the time can get old fast. The Arma big rock v3 has been a great because of its durability, way less down time way more fun.
Your doing a great job on your channel
Great presentation😎
Thanks!
Just got my Notorious, dang it's a fun little truck!
Runs with my exb’s and keeps up no matter what I throw at it…
6S is the sweet spot for me, where “the fun lives” and the SWB Noto/Outcast rigs are their best stunt trucks. So much fun and surprisingly durable! The only thing that you’ll need to do, for skateparks even, is reinforce the body (fiber tape/shoe goo/flex seal combo is bulletproof) and then replace the stock shock stand offs with the EXB versions. The stock ones break fast with big air on concrete.
I made the mistake of trusting some reviewers about some arrm cars and got ripped off. 800€ down the drain for the outcast here in Spain, for all the 6s EXB and BLX lineup you need to buy an extra card to somehow program the esc and change a setting to not make the car feel like crap, have to refill the oil inside the diffs with proper weight to make the car work somehow fun and not explode the tires, the exposed center diff is a grinder for motor wires and pebbles, the arms are made of glass for some reason, they don't bend they break with the most mild crashes and now have to spend more money in rpm arms, the servo saver is just wrongly made, it is way too stiff and Im counting the days until it breaks the servo, you literally pay premium for an average product, mechanic simulator, that is not very different from most of the other rc cars in the market, not to mention dealing with these stupid straps for the battery and the body clips that takes like 3 minutes to take off or put on, just for the handy battery locking system and the reinforced cage/no body clip designs on the traxxas makes them automatically worth it, how people recommend arrma over any high end traxxas car or even losi is beyond stupidity, guess arrmas must be cheaper in the states or some people just want to work on their trucks for the sake of it.
And I thought: wow these cars don't look like they have half of the R&D traxxas has, but maybe if the community is so big with these, arrmas must be sick, terrible mistake.
Great video! What did you do with the first notorious you got? Are you keeping two of them?
I got Rid of it.
The stability management is AVC. It's spektrums version of TSM. The only ways I know of turning it off or lower is with something like the DX5C or better transmitter or install 2 bind plugs into the receiver, on in the bind port and one in the disable port (refer to the manual as I'm not 100% sure I said that right) to disable it completely. I have a DX5 Rugged and I turn it way down thru my remote so I never really needed to disable it completely.
As far as the newer version of your RC, it's nice to see you are enjoying it more. Did you trade in your V4 or do you still have that as well?
I got rid of the V4.
This RC does not have that AVC option.
Thanks for the pointers what do you think i should buy thus truck 6s or kraton 6s
I put 500k in the center of my kraton 6s. 60k front n rear, it’ll wheelie at speed and took a bit to get used to but now it double backflips off a small booter like yours with ease. Might be too much for the smaller wheelbase on the notorious/outcast
AVC setting for the gyro control .. should be clear in the manual. Nice upgrades on this V5
This one doesnt have the AVC.
I’m late to this video, but you did a good job! I have an older notorious with the old problems. They are probably not available any more, but I put an Axial Yeti buggy body on my notorious. It looks cool! I replaced all of the Axial stickers with Arrma and Amsoil stickers. The weird thing is the original Arrma body posts were all in the exact same location as the holes in the Yeti body, just slightly different hole diameter. Easy adjustment. It looks like a Yeti on steroids! I’d include a pic but I don’t know how. 🤔
The outcast is hard to beat, I've the V1 and never had a problem with it
My man is now one of the good guys ARRMA FAN BOY
Thats more like it! Now I want one again!
lol They are cool. I do enjoy it.
AVC is about the same as TSM. Truck looks good. Been debating one of these but not sure. Like the style of the body. Dont care for the look of most of the Arrmas. Have owned about every Traxxas vehicle. Only things holding me back are how easy Traxxas stuff is to get...and dont want to change battery/charger set ups. Diving into a new brand is like the initial cost of getting in to the hobby initially. I enjoy your videos, thanks for the honest reviews.
Thanks!
It will do front flips on good ramp . But punch setting brings it alive
After watching ur erevo video.. I fell in love with it... Was contemplating kraton v4 and erevo 2.0 last time... I ended up getting the erevo after hearing I have to get aftermarket radio receiver for it. But erevo is a hoot to drive... Nevertheless, I buy it knowing it would need extra care and attention anyway.. Parts at my place are aplenty too for erevo.. Whereas kraton has to back order ... So I'm happy...
Thats good. its always good to have what your local hobby shop has in stock.
I got the same batt. I love it
The outcast is wheelie beast also. You can wheelie it out of site lol 😂
Typhon V5 drives insane. You need one 😎👍
I agree
Just wanted to add another comment. I decided to get the same V5 Notorious. Im stripping all my aluminum and other upgrades off my Kraton V4 to put on the Notorious V5. This video was one of the reasons I decided to get it. And its my Christmas gift to myself!!
Great vid n I was also wondering about ur v4 notorious what’s your plans for that now
He probably returned his for this V5
I got rid of it.
great video! hey quick question. How long did the 6S battery last on your average run with this? Cheers in advance
I don't know. I never keep track. Its not as long in the Notorious as it is in the Typhon though. It feels short.
would stiffening up the rear help, cool video!
I'm going to toy with some settings.
You can get a blow dryer and hit the stickers to get them to stick a little better... stickers annoy me too. Maybe ill get crazy and get custom airbrush on my next body
Looks much better than the first attempt. Nice to see the second chance to try it out.
Yeah I didnt give up on it.
@@outsourcedrc what’s your thoughts on the arrma typhon V3 or the V5?
@@jimshackelford_icu812 I have not looked into it, but I am guessing they did the same thing they did with the Notorious and upgraded some of the weak points. I'll find out tomorrow actually.
Now this is how your first review of an Arrma should have been ! Great job , I could tell 5min in you were very happy now . My V2 Noto ( tactic radio ) , has all the V3 chassis upgrades , I run mine with 20k in the fr / rr diffs , and 300k in the center , punch 5 . Perfect recipe IMO . Try on 4s , you'll love it to !! Wait til you ad the wide kit and metal shafts and hexes ,.....oh that's not this truck LOL !!!! I had the Maxx when I got my Noto , and it basically ruined the Maxx for me on how this is much more stable/planted/controllable/etc . It's to bad you didn't live close to me to let you try my Talion / Mojave / K8S to really see some of their lineup !!! Feel free to watch some of my vids .
I'll check them out!
@@outsourcedrc Looking forward to more vids from you with your new Noto !!
My man! I'm brand new to the RC world and I was really on the fence between traxxas and arrma. From my research and this video I've finally come to a conclusion. I think traxxas is more durable and stable. Arrma is faster (more punch) and more practical. Practical in that I'm not trapped by traxxas and their proprietary battery set up. I was really looking at the felony, but you got me thinking about the notorious. Great vid and happy driving!!
Traxxas is much better for people new to the hobby. If you get a Notorious, be ready to work on it. I break it all the time. The Traxxas Maxx is one of the best starter stunt RC's out there.
Nobody is trapped just solder different connections on.
If you find it wheeling too much you could turn down punch which will ease that a bit. The notorious is definitely a bit wild with the swb which is why I personally went with the Kraton
I bought a senton 3s batteries and all. put tons of money into it. and every other run I was breaking sh!t. I bought one of these and said BYE to the senton. hands down the NOTORIOUS 6s is one of thee BEST purchases I've made.
Nice wheelie
I'm actually getting ready to buy the Traxxas Hoss... I've watched a lot of videos between you and a few others and I think that I like the Hoss the one that I've liked the most...
Its a fantastic little RC. I love it. It also impresses everyone I demo it for.
My thoughts take all 1_4 off the shelf to b fixed it would suck to buy version 1-4 and your new and got to all that back n to it just to get a good rc love the platform but the remote chassis servo have to pass for now great video man
Thanks for video
Love the videos
Nice bro !
