    Hey Twins, the DJ is Eric B and of course, the MC is Rakim, they are from Long Island, NY. This duo definitely left their mark on hip-hop culture. They have classic hits, such as, paid in full, microphone fiend, and follow the leader. Rakim was like no other, lyrically and delivery when he came into the rap game. He is a living legend.

    Listening to Eric B & Rakim's "My Melody" first would have given you some insight to some of the lyrics in this record. He references it a few times and you have gotten more bang out of the "7 emcees" line. Back in the day we went crazy over that line because of the release order of the records

    Rakim’s rhymes were so unique and complex at the time that he was actually laughed at when he first spit a lot of these rhymes, and advised he should change his style to be more marketable…but he stuck with his guns and laid the blueprint for the Nas’, Jay-Z’s and Eminems that would come later.
