The commonwealth is an echo of Britain's once glorious empire. Established in 1931 and once a union of 8, it has erupted into a strong bond between 56 member nations.

If the commonwealth is to survive Prince William and Catherine need to do an extensive commonwealth tour like the queen has done in the past, of course when Princess Catherine's health is better. Now that the Queen has gone without the prince and Princess of wales promoting there charities throughout the commonwealth the monarchy has already started to lose its shine.

@@JGJGAGSG I think it has to do with the current system of voting in the UK, where an MP doesn't even need the majority of the constituency's support to win, just the most votes in general, and I've seen some MPs win a seat with less than 30% of the vote...

The monarch does not govern our country and has not ruled for hundreds of years. So it was a dumb comment he/she made
The English will have to come to grips that they are no longer in an empire. There is still a generation that lived in that empire. In 10 more years, that generation will fade away.
