I was so afraid of trying them until I saw your ultimate care video on Cephs and watched it over and over again until I understood how to take care of them. Hey, I've emailed you guys, but I don't have an answer yet, but in just asking if I can settle a sarracenia Purpurea ssp. Venosa on a sunny west facing windowsill with a humidifier next to it. Same thing with your DC XL Venus flytrap! (Ive read your book multiple times over, awesome book)
You can but you’ll have to watch the plant to see if it’s happy or if it needs a supplemental grow light
Question: What if a caterpillar eats my carnivorous plants? Especially my American Pitchers. It could be a question worth answering!
Caterpillars can be a problem - munching away on random plants! We apply Bayer 3-in-1

Once they have started the flower cycle do you water from above from a can or stand in a tray until wet then remove from tray?
We water from above and remove the tray once they start flowering

and no seed torper(dormancy) is needed

Sometimes but usually not well
Do you guys scarify the seeds? I heard they just won't germinate or they can take upto 12 months to germinate if you dont so I rub mine between sandpaper until they turn grayish in color and then I sow them directly into a clay pot (to save me having to use a peat pot etc).
I did this last year and it worked great, but then they died through winter before they even flowered, I then sowed a load more seed this year using the same method, on 6th of march but still zero germination on them at all, which is so annoying because by the time they do germinate and become mature plants its just going to be winter again and before I know it they'll just die through winter, I love these plants and really want to grow them well, but for me its one of the only carnivores that seem to just hate me
I sowed two batches once, scarified and non-scarified, the scarified all germinated, the non-scarified also all germinated but took another three weeks or so before any sign of germination.
We scarify one end of the seed with a small whetstone and then soak the seeds for 24 hours!
