I like the secondary camera addition on the ink fill. So far, the good jinhaos that I can safely say would be the 85, x850, and the 100 for qc and stuff. My 85 never dries out and writes very well, the x850 has a great finish, and the divots aren't too obtrusive. The 100 I don't like the design as much but it is reliable. I have not had drying or feed issues with these 3 models as far as I have used them. I will admit, aside from the nib sealing and piston on the lamy 2k, the jinhao 80 is definitely worth it. But the 2k has never been my fancy considering how expensive it is. Perhaps the jinhao 80 will get a metal body treatment sometime soon? I do think that if they increased their qc (seams, sealing) and the price by even 5 dollars, this would be an amazing premium pen. Platinum pens are great for sealing, their pen bodies, not too comfortable imo.
Hi, I love mine they are great writers. The clip is a bit poor constructed. For the money its a great purchase. The Lamy 2000 is definitely a way much better pen, no question about it. Great video, keep them coming Eugen.
I know I am late to the party to comment, but I want to say that I truly enjoy this review and agree on the observations. If I may add, that Jinhao can have its nib replaced by a Lamy nib, making it even better and given more incentive to the owner to move up and buy the real thing, the Lamy 2000.
Never late to the party - especially on CZcams. The party is always on. You are correct. You can use LAMY nibs on these fountain pens. I think (if I remember correctly) I am showing one of them with an EF LAMY nib on - I believe was one of the full on black versions. Thank you! :)
UPDATE: It seems that two of the Jinhao 80 I used have issues with ink drying out - cap most probably not sealing properly the nib. The green one after 1 week the ink completely evaporated from the converter and the black one always hard starts after a day of not touching it. The other two (red and blue) are working just fine. Bottom line, not all the caps on the Jinhao 80 fountain pens might seal the nib properly.
Chinese pens be like that. Mine also dries up after1 week of not using. Though I like the look and feel, I can't like it that I would get more. Moonman, aside from the t5 models, have not dried up on me anytime.

I agree - a better QC and a slightly higher price will still make this a great fountain pen.

awesome video, as usual!
Thanks Dean!
