    Love what Stephen A is saying. Shaq and Kobe don't have any beef because throughout the entire time they had their differences on the Lakers not once did they ever say some shit behind each other's backs and if they said anything to a reporter on tv it's because they knew they already said it to each other's face beforehand. They handled their squabbles like real men and whenever they had a problem they said it to each other and got it out the way right then and there, then handled business on the court. They explained that in their one on one interview. That's why they respect each other now and lowkey always did even during the beef, because they respected each other enough then to handle their beef like real men and you can be friends with someone like that after maturing because you can trust them.

      @@videoorgy right but Kobe "won them that game" only because Luke Walton stepped up, had 8 assists and was +18, the highest efficiency on their team that game. Kobe is highly responsible for why the lost the series. In games 4 & 5 Kobe scored 20 points, took 25 shots and was 32% FGP. Game 5, Kobe scores 24, takes 21 shots and is 33% FGP.
      Shaq on the other hand was way more efficient, game 4: 36 points, 76% FGP on only 21 shots. Game 5, 20 points on 13 shots and 54% FGP. So I'm not saying this tells the whole story of why they got beat but it tells most of it. The Lakers could've easily won games 4 & 5 if you give the ball to Shaq.
      Kobe will always be a great player but at that time I think he had a huge ego problem and so desperately wanted to be like MJ, his "mamba mentality or assassins mentality" ended up being a double-edged sword that cost his team that championship.

    Kobe has to remember Shaq is 6 years older! They were in a different physical position of their lives. He had a legendary orlando run before he even played with kobe. When Shaq won a ring with Miami, he was 34 years old. Kobe injured his achilles when he was 34, 35.

    Judging by how Shaq and Barkley looked when they fought, or any other basketball player or even football players I’ve seen TRY and fight, I’d have no fear either. Just because you big and athletic and play sports, don’t mean you got hands. 🤷🏾‍♂️
    Also, everyone blames Kobe for losing to the Pistons in 04. And he deserves a lot of blame especially because he ended up being a greater player overall, however, what Ben Wallace did to Shaq in that serious should’ve never happened regardless of what Kobe was doing.

    • @JohnDoe-ld7op
      @JohnDoe-ld7op Před 4 lety +1

      He pushed Shaq forward so Shaq couldn't do much. Plus the league made multiple rules to stop Shaq after the three peat.

      Hey Will, I don't know how much basketball you've watched in your life (not a slight at all since I know tone is lost when chatting on the internet). I'm going to guess though that you've probably watched your fair amount of hoops (collegiate and pro) over the years. What the Pistons did to the Lakers in the '04 Finals doesn't surprise me because as you've alluded to, the Pistons were a TEAM (and a damn good one at that). Billups, Rip, Prince, Sheed and Ben were in their prime All-Stars. They may not have been better individually than either Kobe or Shaq but they played as a team. The thing that stands out to me (and considering what Stephen A spoke on) is when you're indecisive against a really good team then you WILL have difficulty scoring, no matter how great your individual talent is. The '04 Lakers chemistry was shit and it finally culminated in the Finals when they faced a squad that played with unity.
