- Hi and welcome! My name is Melanie and I love to crochet plushies. Today I talk about my very first experience at an Artist Alley of my very first ever convention where I almost SOLD OUT of my entire inventory!! I apologize in advance for the shaky footage, this was my first vlog with my new camera and I'm still getting used to it 😅 Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by and showed support that weekend, I will definitely be applying to more Artist Alleys and conventions in the future :')

Just know that you don’t need validation from others because when you have down days, it creates that feeling of not being validated, like the doubts may come and so forth. You’re already validated on your own, gifted and successful. ❤️👏👏👏🙏
Yay!! I'm so glad your first artist alley experience was such a positive one. Here's to many more in the future!!
ahh it was so good seeing you Erica 🥺💝thank you!!
I did my first artist alley last week and it was an amazing experience. I live in France, and even tho it was considered a big convention it wasn't as crowed as in your vlog. I'm pretty happy with the money I made, a lot of others vendors came to bought plushies or bucket hat and all my friends stopped at my booth during the weekend to buy somethIng and encourage me. My neck was hurting as hell sunday night but I will repeat all over again if I could. People were so sweet and it definitly set my mind about doing more artist alley in the futur 🥰💜
I'm glad you had a good first artist alley experience! I only vended once at Anime Weekend in Atlanta because it's far away from where I live. But I def agree people were really nice about my plush prices. I also bring my merch back and forth because I don't trust leaving my merch at the con overnight. I love seeing another plush artist on YT and sharing their artist alley experience! I look forward to seeing more!
I purchased the sea otter plushie from you! So glad to have helped make your first artist alley experience great!
A lot of them sold out in this convention especially, some even made mid 5 figures in profit after selling out inventory! Crazy.
You’re really aspiring!! I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile, I’m currently trying to stock up on anime plushies as well, because I’ve been wanting to try this out!💗 thank you for the inspiration, and good luck on your journey!
as someone who's done cons since 2010, you're doing amazing right from the start! your prices are spot on, and honestly could probs go up another $5-10 all around and still sell out! you have such an amazing variety too, i'm not surprised you had such success!! you're going to have such a wildly different experience from one day markets if you pursue more conventions. you could EASILY sell the Appa for $300. can wait to watch your journey!!! congrats!!!!
Your work is so cute Congrats for your first alley 🎉 it's would be good if you can make little crow from haikyuu maybe keychain it's would be super cute💕
Beautiful work Melanie. All the best for the future. Can I suggest that as you sell out of items bring others down from the top to display at eye level
aaaaaaa obsessed with your stock !!!!!! valorant , spyfam , pokemon , sanrio , atla !!! i love it all and so glad i found you through this vid , also so happy your first artist alley went well for you ^o^
I was at the same con with you with crochet plushies. Glad you did well
Just a suggestion, when you're items are running low spread the remaining items out. Put individual price tags on your items.
ohh! so i you were the booth that was empty! its nice to see what your booth looked like full
aw congrats! I'm also a crocheter, and I had a similar experience at my first artist alley :) Glad you had such a good experience
Dang...now I wish I knew how to crochet, but I don't have the patience for it. Good on you for selling well!
I am so so happy for you!! Knowing that you’ve worked so hard, until the night😅. It’s so amazing that people came back and that your product got stuck in their head and they had to buy it. love those stories. It’s inspiring because I want to join a convention and it’s hard to figure out how much inventory to bring, but it’s inspiring to make more than enough, also for the next event. 🙃I’m going to follow you and I’m curious about your next steps.
Aw im really glad that your first Artist Ally went super well!~ I always enjoy coming across other artist as well that enjoy making cute things ^^
That's so exciting, good for you!
Sounds like an amazing weekend! Congrats! Now you're starting from almost scratch again, good luck!!
I am soooo very proud of you! Keep going and never give up!! You are amazing!💚💚💚
I do that all the time too! Get off of work to work more, but this time on my business!❤❤❤
This is so cool. I was excited about the idea of becoming a vendor at Sakura con. I sent in the forms but I haven’t heard back if I’m accepted. But I heard a lot of bad things about it. But I love crocheting and I just started this year, back in April.
I'm so happy for you!! This was a very nice video to see🤩
Oh wow. I am so glad for your success. You totally deserve it! I wish you the best in future conventions. 🧡💜
OMG That's amazing! Congrats!
Question: how do the customers reach the plushies that are high up? do you have to go around the table to take the plushies down for customers?
Wow! That is so awesome! I am so happy for you! I can relate. I have watched a couple of your videos and I admire your skill level. I am now a subbie. I look forward to seeing more of your content I'm the future! Happy Thanksgiving!
Woo! Nice video.
OMG everything is so cute, congrats on everything ♥ I wanted to ask if you don’t mind, where are your patternns from? Everything is so cute ☺♥
I agree you good girl blessings
I'm so happy you did so well! Your display looks so nice!
thank you!! 💖
Congrats
I've noticed with cons most people myself included will save up quite a bit of money to be able to buy something and not really worry about it
haha took off work to work, samee
this has inspired me to really do a market event of some sort but I'm too scared
What would you recommend making to sell at these that don't violate trademarks etc? Do you find that non-con items sell just as well? I'm considering 2 different artist alleys next year
How much time did you need to make all of the plushies? I' m willing to try for the first time that kind of events, but I'm scared that I' don't have enough time to prepare.
where did you buy the big blue display shelves?
Hi! Was this an exclusive event, as in were you the only crocheter?
Where do you find these cons in Atlas?
Hi how are you doing today
