I’ve been trying for so long all morning to get my remote to connect to our tv. When I finally watch your video, and even though I did the same exact sequence I did in the past….it worked. I don’t know why but it’s finally working with all the functions enabled for the tv…..

Thank you so much for this tutorial. We had gotten this remote for an older tv & never got it to work. Years later we now have an ONN smart tv & the remote has been misplaced. ONN was not on the code list but by using the auto code method I got the remove to work....yay! I was not able to turn the tv on to set the remote up. The tv turned on during the 1st run of 10 codes. I left the TV on and started the setup process over to ensure I got the correct code stored. I am very pleased! :-)

Thanks simple an easy. I can finally turn my tv channels. I got a tv from someone as a gift had no remote. Got this remote from walmart. Love the light for when its dark.

Thank you I got this remote and used the manual to do the auto code and it worked but after I stored the manual somewhere and idk where it is....then as i was cooking i grabbed the remote to turn up my show cause I couldn't hear it over the pan and i somehow deleted my stored code so this really helped and I'm saving this vid incase it happens again

It should as long as it's the tabletop model. The Roku stick doesn't work with IR or HDMI-CEC. 😔

Any suggestions for programming a vcr/dvd combo unit, the vcr half specifically?
HI, I believe you have to program that as if it were 2 stand alone units. Just for fun I used a Sony for example (I didn't know your brand) and the codes for a vcr were different than a dvd.... Any of those buttons will program to whatever device code you put into it. So use 2 buttons, 1 for each device. They are not bound by the label on the button. Hopefully that helps...

This worked like a charm! So grateful. My old remote has an "info" button. When pushed and regular tv was on, I could see what program was on (banner popped up across the top). This remote doesn't have that feature. Or does it?
HI Kelly.. It doesn't look like it. Have you tried the star button or others even if they don't make sense? I doubt it, but I usually press buttons to see what they do..

Thank you. No where else on the internet does it explain the app1 app2 buttons. Youve done me a service. I had the manual to program the remote along with the master code list, but was stumped on getting those buttons to work. Unfortunately for me neitber button will do anything, but at least i know for sure its not my fault! Thank you again

I have the GE universal remote
Usually when you get to where you can type in the password, you use the arrow keys to bump the cursor around. There are also options for capital letters and numbers as well.
