Thanks to you, for your detailed instructions on programming the GE Universal remote. I had received a frantic call from my mother who lives in Orlando Fl, while I was in San Francisco Ca Bay Area. I first watched your video to familiarize myself with the programming process. I was then able to walk her through the process and she eventually completed the process correctly. Love the way you superimpose your image at the bottom corner of the video. How do you accomplish this?
I use a 2nd camera and a green screen to isolate my image from the background. I shrink the image and move it to the corner!... You're the 1st one to ever ask that! .... thanks for the comment... :-)

No, the fire stick works on RF signal. This remote is IR only, so it won't work.
@@JLPicard440 thanks a lot. Appreciate it. Are there any other universal remote control which works. When I got this one the guy at the store told me it will connect with fire stick anyhow it is what it is
I did one recently on a Phillips remote that has a cradle in the back for the fire tv remote to slide into. If you look at my channel it's the most recent one. The fireTV remote only has to be in the back, then the Phillips remote buttons will work the fire tv even though your not pushing any of the buttons on the back. That's the only one I can think of at the moment.

Does this remote work for a truck tv/dvd when I bought my truck it came with a tv in it but the guy he didn’t know where the remote was so I bought this universal remote hoping it would work but I have no idea wut I’m doing and the tv/dvd that came with my truck has no brand name so I don’t know what kind it is😩please help
HI, I would try to google your model of truck to see if there's anything about what brand TV it came with, unless of course they added the TV later and that's not factory. I would try the auto code search method to see if it'll hit on something that works if you don't turn up any search results.

I have TLC TV the remote has no numbers on it .
I bought a GE universal remote for two reasons .
1 ) To save the original by no ware n tare .
2 ) In hopes of using the number pad to change the channel .
The number pad dose not function to change a channel is there a way to fix this or do you think the remote is defective ? ( all other input works on number pad )
It should work. TLC is a pretty popular brand. I think RCA owns them. Sometimes a particular code won't work all the functions. Did you try all the codes?
I may have failed to mention the TLC TV is a Roku TV .
On the code list that came with the GE remote only has one code although there are other codes for different versions of the TLC TV .

Which button do you use to program a vcr
You can use any button to program any device. I would use the DVD button. If you have a DVD player then use the SAT button. It doesn't matter. OF course it's only a 3 device remote so if you have a SAT, a DVD, and a VCR, there's not going to be enough buttons.

HI sometimes a code will only partially work. If the input isn't working did you try all the available codes for your TV?
I have this remote working on my combo DVD/VCR (to copy VHS tapes to DVD). Main problem: cannot FINALIZE copied DVD. I see "DISK EDIT" on the screen, but cannot access by moving down to DISK EDIT command. Help!!
How to you get to the Finalize command? By moving the cursor with the arrow keys? Or is there a Finalize command on the original remote? If it's through the arrow keys, do they work for other commands?

HI, there's no way to program just the input button on this remote. For that you need a teachable remote. Have you tried all the available codes for your TV?

HI, you can probably get this to work on your smart TV but it'll only work the basic functions. You need a "teachable" remote to be able to program in those shortcut buttons like Netflix, .. etc.

Hi. Your video was very helpful. The only problem I have. Is when I got the code put in all the DVD buttons worked. Everything was fine. But. I have a DVD that has multiple movies on it. So I have to navigate. But when I went to push down to go to a different movie and I hit the channel button to go down to select it. It took me to a static screen. So it took me out of the DVD section and put me into the TV section. But I had the DVD button selected and not the TV button selected. So, please help me. I can only watch one movie and I can't do anything else but watch that one movie. Please help.
Also I have an extra (AUX) button on the upper right hand corner of the remote
Maybe try pushing the "Shift" button that doubles with the "setup" button and see if it will change the function of the up and down to work with the DVD?

Yes you're supposed to be able to. Have you tried all the codes to your device? If it's a smart TV, sometimes they can be a bit finicky and don't play well with universal remotes.
Do you know why I can’t change the input with this controller? I press input the list of options come up and I can’t cycle through them. Any help?
If the input options pop up then the arrow keys aren't navigating? Your TV might not allow you to cycle through them if the other inputs aren't active. Are they greyed out? Can you navigate them with the original remote?
@@JLPicard440 I lost my original remote, I did figure it out, the issue was that when the input menu popped up, I had to hit the set up key again to “shift” and then the arrows work. Thanks for the response tho, I appreciate it, this video helped me a lot
@@samrhodenizer4169 Arrgh... I had forgotten about the shift key. Some of the smaller remotes have that to get more functions out of the keys without taking up more space... Glad you got it going..

Actually, any button I press after the setup just doesnt work.
Did you check the batteries to make sure they are in good condition? Even a marginal battery will not work well when programming...
@@JLPicard440 sure did- I realized I was supposed to hold the sync button, I'm such a goon oops.
However I did manage to get it to work, too bad the TV itself started to bug out because of the age. Oops :)

I have the exact same controller and I am doing the auto search. As soon as the remote turned off the tv I hit 1 and it keeps cycling through numbers.
No it's supposed to stop. Did you check the batteries to make sure they're pretty fresh, this will sometimes cause programming problems..
