Thanks it worked I have almost the same remote and a Sanyo tv the auto code search worked. I just kept remote aimed at tv and hit 1 right after it turned tv on/off

I could... I actually don't have one of those laying around..
GE Universal Remotes are made with a simplistic design, and a simplistic guide on how to work with it. This 8 device remote is probably the best way to go. Now I'm not saying you should get this specific remote, but it fits my hands comfortably, it's got a good design to it, lightweight, the whole remote from the front to the back is all the same, nothing is cut off, like the 4 device remotes, buttons are easy to navigate, and just everything else about this remote is great. I have 7 devices on 1 remote:
One TV
Sony Blu-Ray Player
Orion VCR
Pioneer 5 Disc DVD Player and Surround Sound Speaker System (which the DVD part is broken, so I only use the sound)
Roku Player
RCA Converter Box
and a 4 Device HDMI Connector.

When setting up you universal remote i have a 3way split cable so i dont have a direct cable box will i be able to set up my universal remote been trying for 2 days. Any ideas?

For the eject button (to DVD players) press the shift button, press the guide button, and the DVD player should eject. For the eject button (to VCR's) press the record button, just be careful about pressing that button, always check the tab on the VHS, but you should be able to eject with that button.

How do you know when it has found a code in the auto search method? Did the light do anything different?
Hi, actually no. The remote doesn't know whether the TV is programmed or not. It's only sending out codes. The TV should respond by turning off if it's on, or on if it's off..

i have this remote and im trying to set it up to my Venturer Coverter box, but its not working, i looked up the code and everything also i dont know if what i should press during setup (like: CBL,SAT, ETC.)
Sorry for the late response, your comment was lost in the mix.. Yes it should be under cbl or sat... But I think with GE you can put the device under any button. If that brand is listed and you've tried all the codes,.. did you try the auto code search?
I have the exact remote all the buttons are the exact same and everything except for it says qfx where it says GE on that one will it still be the same codes
Most likely it will.. It's like the old Montgomery Wards TVs, they didn't make anything! It was Sharp, RCA, Zenith, etc... the TVs were always the same as their counterpart, just the name plate on the front was different!... :-)

Hi! Where is the zoom button on the remote? Or how do you adjust the picture ?
You might be able to access that from the TVs menu.. TVs are different so I'm not sure where in the menu..

Does this remote work with the AMAZON Firestick?

My old fios remote broke and the new one does not have the same feature as the old one. My problem with the new one is that I cannot turn on the receiver with the tv and stb. The old remote (after programming) I could just press the power button and everything turned on. Does this remote have that "just press power" and everything turns on? Thanks
My guess is no. If you have the manual you'll want to look there and see if this remote can do a macro. A macro is a pre-programmed sequence that you choose and will do what you're saying. It will actually send out two or however many sequences you need.. I don't think this remote can do that, but i'm not 100%.
I somehow deprogrammed my remote from dollar general, GE brand identical to yours on this video. I have Magnavox Smart TV made in 2018. I cannot find the codes. Can you help me? Please.

Can this remote work the smart features and allow me to connect to internet on a 55 inch LG 3D Cinema smart tv?
Most of these basic remotes will have a problem with the smart features of your TV. Your best bet is to get a remote that's teachable. But that means you'll have to have the original remote to teach the universal the commands if any of them turn up missing..
Is there a eject button on this remote for the DVD player?

It should as long as it's a brand that will work with it.
How do I get my DVD menu button to work? I've tried all the codes for the brand dvd recorer/vhs player I own, but when I enter the code that allows me to play, pause, stop, fast forward my DVD the menu button doesn't appear to do anything whenever I press it. I also point at my device when pressing the button.
It's possible it's not completely compatible. The only other thing you can try is the auto code search and see if it'll hit on a code that'll bring up the menu.
Did you press the setup/shift button and then press the info/menu button?

Probably not.. but are there any codes for Acer? You could try auto code search and see if it hits on anything..

Is there a way to change the aspect ratio with it? I have an old RCA tv; like pressing the right/left arrow only keeps it a Normal ratio, but nothing else changes.
Yes you can usually access the aspect ratio through the menu within the TV.. Most TVs are different, so not sure how to navigate to it on your particular model.

What if I got a tv/ dvd combo? It’s a Slyvania and all codes aren’t working
You could try programming in the tv and dvd as 2 separate devices. Program in the codes for Sylvania TV, and use TV as one device and a Sylvania DVD and use that as a 2nd device. Im not for sure it'll work, but its worth a try.

Make sure the Roku tv can accept a IR signal. I think it does, there should be a link to the codes in the description... if not, it's easy to google this remote and get its codes.

So we just got a tv and when I was figuring out the panel. I accidentally locked the IR locks.
I bought a universal to try and unlock it, its not working. Any tips?
A. Sikor. I’m sure it’s going to vary with different TVs ... but it should be in the manual how to enable/disable that... if you can’t find it in the manual try to google the manufacturer and how to unlock IR... if that still doesn’t work... there’s always returning the tv if u just got it... but if u like the TV that’s obviously a last resort... there might even be a tech support number in the manual... I wish I could be more help, but without seeing the tv it’s hard to say.

I highly doubt it'll work on something like that... This remote is made for consumer electronics like TV, VCR, DVD stuff like that. I think there are some computer codes on some remotes for computer towers, but not a converter like you've described...

I'm not sure, I don't have a ONN TV here to try. If there's no code listed for ONN, then you could try a auto code search.

What works with a onn roku tv?
What works? As in a remote? Onn does make a universal, but most universals should work. However, they may not operate the smart features.
I have this same remote with a brand new LG flatscreen , I press the setup button till red light comes on then TV, then power , so the red light blinks about 5 times then just stays on forever unless I press the power button again then blinks 5 times or so then just stays on Forever.

It almost sounds like you've initiated the auto code search? I'm just guessing. Check the batteries are they fresh? Do you have the code list? Usually a GE remote is pretty straight forward, press the setup button until the red light stays on, press the device button, enter the code. The red light should go out and it's programmed.

HI, DVD players are going to be different, but most have a main movie menu where you can select the different tracks on there. Whether or not this remote can access that menu, I can't say. Did you try all the codes for your particular brand of DVD player?

Yes for sure. It's an IR signal which is basically light.
What if you can't get the power button to come on. The TV does work just not the power button. How can I program the remote if I can't turn the TV on bye the power 🔘 button
HI, the manufacturer of the remote "recommends" that you program it with the TV or device turned on. However, it'll work either way. The remote sends out "power" codes. These codes will either turn on or off the device and are not just "on" or "off" if that makes sense.
Okay I have been googling and googling and googling about this remote that you are displaying because I have it in front of me... Does this remote have a b backlight or is it backlit? Its not working for me. I have a Vizio smart TV and it will turn off and on the power but it won't let me select any apps to watch. Please help!!!!!
This remote isn't made for a smart TV. It's also not teachable, ( I don't think). Most remotes aren't made for a smart TV, but they can be taught the commands if you have the original remote. But you need a remote that has learning capabilities.

I was trying to program to my dvd player using auto code search but it just programs it to my TV and turns it on each time, but yes the tv is off and it still does that instead of the dvd player that is on as instructed
Hmmm.. You should be auto programming using the DVD device button. If you're doing this and it's still turning on the TV, maybe ignore the TV and see if you keep going will it hit on codes for the DVD? Just a thought.
