- Not the quickest review, but worth the extra few minutes. This is a very special review for a special guitar - a real life Gibson Explorer. It's pretty awesome, with one caveat; it's all in the video. Honestly Gibson, for $2k I do expect perfection, and this is SOOOOO close. But no banana! I really like those Alnico II pickups, and the action on this thing is super low. It's a fun video and I actually play some guitar in it (gasp!!!).

Your son is a great kid, shows what kind of father you are that he thought to spend his hard earned money to show his appreciation for his pops! It's a badass guitar as well!
Yeah, he really (REALLY) shocked me with this one. He was a teenager when I had to sell my original and he remembered how much that sucked. Just awesome.
I used to play your old Explorer - the pickups were so hot I bought some and installed them in an old Kramer (which is completely worn out now). They drove the tube amp to its sweet spot. Highly recommend. Keep up the good work Sparky.

Dude the Fretboard is Awesome! Like a flame ! Try putting some oil on it ! That doesn’t effect anything

Your son is such lovely! I use MONTYPRESSO Finishing and Darkening Wax to darken light colored fingerboards for your referece.
