Good grief, WHERE did you do the bridge scenes?!?! I didn't know a TNG bridge set existed anywhere, at least not one the public could use!
@@nakyer Thanks! - I built some of it from scratch, borrowed the command chairs from USS Riker's Beard (a Facebook group) and the rest is CGI.
Very much in the tradition *and* spirit of Star Trek, unlike some 'professional' incarnations of the franchise. Well done!
@joe v You're very welcome! Thanks for watching :-)
This is great. The story, the acting, and the special effects were as good as a professional production. I absolutely enjoyed this.
This. THIS. This is Star Trek. I would pay to watch a series based on this crew.
Thanks very much - you're really kind :-)
This was good because it used the same formula as The Next Generation, which is arguably the best Star Trek next to the original series.
Indeed..🤔..So Say We All Sir!! 🖖
Your comment is the only reason I gave this one a chance! 😊
Absolutely!
Those were the best fitting uniforms I've ever seen in a fan film. Well done whoever was in charge of the costumes.
Thanks Deshon. That would be director and the wardrobe department.
That's funny! That's the first thing I noticed as well. What's with that in Fan Films?
They especially fit well on the first officer ..YUM
Your starfleet uniforms actually fit. That puts you so far ahead of so many other fan films.
Thanks for commenting and watching.
Except 'Prelude to Axanar', perhaps.
A Fan Production where the people can actually act! Very Very Impressed!! Congratulations!
Thanks for the positive words!
Watching in 2023. I loved this. Great story and crew.
Thanks Chad!
Fitting this level of storytelling into the 30 minute (15 x 2) time limit imposed by CBS is very impressive. The beats felt snappy rather than rushed. Great job.

Thanks very much - it's so pleasing to receive such positive words.
I noticed the time limit was ignored as well. Kudos. CBS has the dumbest contract lawyers money can buy.

Thanks for watching Shannon and the very positive comments.
Agree…👍
I just heard about this fan film today. I thought Star Trek was dead since Nemesis. Because what is officially shown today as Star Trek via streaming platforms, such as Discovery or Picard and others, is called Star Trek, but it is not.
Today was the first time I watched REAL Star Trek again. I thank you for that. You are great filmmakers.
Amazing Fred, thanks for watching and commenting!
I actually like those shows. And TNG is Star Trek to me. TOS existed to inspire, but TNG got it right all around. TOS did the best they could with what they had and we hadn't even been to space yet, but the actors, stories and most importantly, the ideas were solid & inspiring. But TNG got it right in every way. But I gotta be honest, Discovery might be my #2. Followed by SNW.
That is me however, either way, we agree that this production was amazing & we love it.
This is actually one of the best TNG era fan fiction movies I've ever seen
Thanks Scott - really appreciate you watching and being so positive about the film.
Special Notice :
During the filming of this episode
That no Klingon's were harmed or endangered .
Ha-ha! Very good! Thanks for watching :-)
As any true Klingon would say to that. Qapla!

"Many came to realize that religion was the beginning of our civilization. To excize it would be to deny our own history." and "beyond Logic lies faith." Powerful quotes!! Love it!!
Thanks for watching - they are my original words too as opposed to actual historical quotes. There is a Martin Luther King quote in there though.
Great Star Trek Captain’s quote:
“We must live together as brothers or die together as fools.”
Thank you all for this very impressive Star Trek fan film.
🖖🏻🖖🏼🖖🏽🖖🏾🖖🏿
Thanks Mike. Yes, it is a quote by Martin Luther King. One I wish humans could abide by more often.

Amazing - thanks for watching!
I am SO impressed! I've never seen such a fan production that so carefully recreated the NextGen format. The edits, the types of characters, the musical climax to end each scene... all so well thought out. Even the lighting is exactly correct. And these fans... are they professional actors? Just wow!
Aww - thanks! Yeah we did our best to replicate the vibe of TNG - I'm glad you thought we did a good job! The cast were all professional actors, yes. You might want to check out our other TNG era fan film "Chance Encounter" here if you want some more: czcams.com/video/vuMFDtpjA3M/video.html

A stunning and beautiful tribute to the TNG era. As others have said, this was a true pleasure to watch. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and your kind comments.
Yes! Original characters in the TNG era. Plus nothing like exploring religious concepts in a sci fi setting.
Hey Kevin - thanks for your kinds words and for watching.
You must be an Atheist meathead
@@altha-rf1et Thanks for commenting. May your God go with you :-)
You know, I wish TNG could have happened perhaps a decade later. Perhaps then they would have allowed the known to be designed Data to seriously explore the design of humans.
@21stcenturyenigma Nonsense. Both are a pursuit of knowledge. One acknowledges faith, while the other, while depending absolutely on faith, is too arrogant to admit to it. It REQUIRES faith (that ANYTHING is knowable) to do ANY science at all. Religion is far more humble, admitting to faith right out on the surface.
Very well written and acted. True to the core of Star Trek. It was an absolute pleasure to watch this. Well done.
Thanks Jason, I'm really glad you liked it!
Thanks Jason - it's great you enjoyed the film!
This shows what can happen should religion be used for good, not for evil selfish purposes. Maybe that can finally happen today.
@@55Quirll Thanks for watching Isaac. We appreciate your thoughtful comments
This is proof that you don't need to "blacken" Trek or make it "edgier" in order to make it better or at least more competitive. Good story telling is just that and doesn't need an R rating ie Picard.
Star Trek made by people who know Star Trek!
I enjoyed this much more than anything on Paramount+.

BRAVO!!! Well done! ...and it's a horrible shame that countless millions are being given to people that care only about their own egos, while *you* produce this wonderful piece virtually out-of-pocket!

Cheers Norm for your constructive and positive comments. Much appreciated.
This 30 mins got more Star Trek as whole STDiscovery
Cheers John!
I dont get it, why be negative?????? Dont like discovery dont watch.....I always thought as a fan we were better then petty bullshit of the world.... guess not...
This is by far one of the best fan films every produced. I've watched so many from people who believe just because they make a Trek fan film it must be good (and their viewers oft times feel the same) but their shows suffer on every level, from writing to acting to design. You guys really upped the game. Well done all!!
Thanks for the your very kind comments!
Fantastic production! I liked how Starfleets morals were questioned as well!
Thanks. We thought it'd be fun to play devils advocate in a way.
Thanks for watching Jamie. Yes, we wanted some balance and good motivation in regard to the antagonist and Starfleet's actions.
Gods. It felt like I was 12 again watching Star Trek TNG all over again. Great fan production, WELL done.
Thank you Erragar - I'm glad it took you back! :-)
So glad you enjoyed it - wonderful comments too :-)
Found my way to this episode per CZcamsr Dave Cullen's analysis and recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Thanks for watching and the very kind comments!
Ditto!!
That's how I found my way here too! Definitely a worthy plug.
Dave's a good guy. "Me too" on how I arrived here to see this pair of gems. ... If Jennis (sp?) wills it, perhaps some day soon the darkness over the Trek universe (CBS's absurdly restrictive and authoritarian Fan Film rules) will be lifted. How out of touch with Trek values those are. Nobody is surprised that a soulless corporation doesn't get it, I suppose, but maybe "the last scroll" will make its way across their desk and somebody with decision-making power over there will decide it's time their company stopped being the bad guy.
Must watch that.
Good to see " Star Trek" still being made.
Cheers Mike
Excellent work, Gary and all people involved! This is absolutely true to the TNG canon, it is amazing. A heart-felt story again ("Chance encounter" already touched my heart) which perfectly captures the spirit of TNG, good acting by all actors, beautiful sets/props/costumes that fit seamlessly into the TNG-era, music fitting nicely, BEAUTIFUL CGI. A thousand thanks to all the cast and crew for this fan film and for keeping Star Trek alive the way we remember and love it (in it's TNG incarnation). I hope we will see more Star Trek fan films from you in the future. Keep on trekking.
Thank you! That is very gratifying to read. I'm glad it hit the right spot :-)
Thanks for the wonderful comments - we appreciate you watching the film and being so positive.
OUT OF ALL THE FAN PRODUCTIONS OF STAR TREK AND THE STAR WARS FAN PRODUCTIONS, THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST THAT I HAVE SEEN. I FEEL THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PUT INTO PRODUCTION FOR A TV SERIES
Thanks Brock
That was real trek. Do More. Forget the CBS Rules. They will be overturned.
Thanks very much :-)
Now we NEED a continuation of this series!!!
Thanks for watching and the positive comment!
I agree! More of this!!!!
I honestly felt like I was truly watching a lost episode of the TNG! This was so wonderfully executed. Great writing, acting, directing, special effects... Thanks for adding another chapter to TNG legacy!
Thanks Jarrod for watching and the very positive comments.
There is nothing I can add that hasn't already been said. This WAS Star Trek. Very very well done. Congratulations. Given that I am only seeing this five years after it's release, I certainly hope it spawned additional episodes as well done as this.
Thanks Wayne, I really appreciate your kind comments 😊
This is an excellent fan production. Its cored on a TNG-style plotline involving conflict resolution via diplomatic means, time travel, and seeking to understand alien's culture and belief system, just like Gene Roddenberry has wanted it.
It doesn't involved action-packed, dark, and gritty plotlines like JJ-Trek and Discovery, yet at the same time takes the idea of religion as a positive inspiration for scientific discovery and as a means to understand the universe seriously, unlike 'The Orville' which simply dismisses religion as a source of war, prejudice, and other things evil, which is often true, but throws out its the positive aspects out of the window.
I really like the cast members who are playing Starfleet officers. The actresses who played the captain and the XO did a good job playing TNG-era Starfleet officers, those who can be diplomats who negotiate with other aliens, anthropologists who try to understand their cultures, and detective/investigators who investigated a space incident/phenomena and tried to find resolutions to them.
Hopefully there will be more episodes featuring the adventures of USS Vigilance and her crew. If the quality of plot and the writing is as this good, it has a lot of potential as an alternative series beyond the Trek canon. Two thumbs up!!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment so positively. Cheers
I am so over JJ-Trek and Discovery. Like a bad dream on an alternative timeline that will hopefully be soon forgotten.
This is what StarTrek should be!
Kudos! An unusually sophisticated storyline for a TREK film and indeed compared to a good fistful of TNG episodes.
Much obliged David. We really appreciate your constructive comments and for watching.
That was so good! Your production value is insanely good, and both the acting and the writing were on point. I even got a little choked up when Jennifer was transmitting that final message. Really well done.
Thanks Mary for your kind comments and taking the time to watch our film.
This is what real Star Trek is about! In under 30 minutes you made me care about all of the characters and created an alien society that was believable. I wish CBS would get back to this type of story telling. Thank you so much for your hard work.
Thanks very much - we appreciate you watching our film and taking time to comment.
This is REAL Star Trek, unlike STD. Thanks to the team that created this.
Thanks for watching Rebecca and the really positive comments!
This was the best fan film I’ve seen so far. Great plot, wonderful acting, engaging characters, and a true to form TNG era story. I have to admit, I teared up at the nostalgia of the credits. Wonderful work, all of you
Thanks for such kind words :-)
This was so true to the spirit of Star Trek and genuinely better then anything made under the name for a while. I wish my mom could have seen this. Thank you so much to everyone involved in this production. I hope you all live long and prosper.
Thanks Mike!
I love episodes like this that lay the duality and incongruities of this future that Star Trek predicts but rather portrays in metaphorical genius from the inception of Gene’s brilliant mind.
This is where it gets you to think not of the future but of the present, my friends.
Drink deeply, and fear not the hard to swallow ideas brought forth here and take these learned lessons into your daily life and this society of ours under so much duress.
Bravo!
Thanks for watching James and the erudite comments.
Watched Star Trek TOS, as a child, when it first went into syndication about early to mid-70's. I'm 54 now and have watched every TREK iteration. In one way or another, I've, literally, watched TREK everyday for about FIFTY years. I think i've earned the right to express what IS or what ISN'T Trek. "The Holy Core" and "Chance Encounter" are absolutely STAR TREK. The stuff CBS is putting out most certainly is not.
Wow, thanks Sal Sanchez :-) I'm really glad that you enjoyed both our films so much. It means a lot. Thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting so positively, Sal. Means alot, especially from a bona fide Star Trek fan.

I enjoy fan productions of TREK, STAR WARS, et. al., so I watch a great many of them. This one is superb. Really well done.
So worth waiting for! Efficient storytelling and plotting, decent actors, new TNG sets that fit perfectly into the canon (even Auxiliary Control!) and so much more. The discussion of faith is something S2 DSC hinted at but never truly explored, but you really do it justice.
The Bridge looks great! I know exactly how much you built, but the matting is seamless.
The scifi elements are an essential component and well done, but where the writing really excels is in the characters (just as with your previous productions). And the ending really surprised me.
All in all this is a classic Trek tale, I cannot congratulate everyone involved enough.
Nice one - thanks Matt. Be sure to spread the word :-)
Already done :-)

I really love how the got the feel of some of the regular less attention focused episodes. The cultural representation felt spot on. I'm a little late but, I just watched this 30 minute episode and holy crap I felt more in this condensed TNG-esque episode than anything on Discovery, let alone Picard. If you've never seen this, give it a watch. Totally worth it. I actually damn near shed a tear by the end because it actually felt like Star Trek.

Thank you, I really enjoyed this polished fan film. Well done to everyone involved. If this is the quality you're producing on a shoe-string budget, I cannot possibly imagine what you'd achieve if you were given just 10% of Star Trek Discovery's budget! Try to get some of the popular sci-fi CZcamsrs to mention this video, their followers will thank them for it. I like how the Female Officers have their hair up and have a sense of formality about them, like their Captain. Everyone stands straight and tall. The plot was good as well, and it suddenly went from zero to warp. Like Ron Burgundy would say, "Well that escalated quickly".

Rushed, no doubt because of CBS's silly fan film rules, but easily the equal to any first or second season TNG episode.

@@FixFilmsLtd I would have loved to see what you could have done with a slightly better set and uniform budget and the full 50 minute episode running time. It'd be interesting to see if you could have gotten up to mid-series quality. If I recall, CBS won't allow fully hour episodes under the new rules, which can make it difficult to do a full episode, and I also know they have budgetary restrictions.
@@KioAMVs That's correct. But the guidelines are understandable to protect the rights of the brand and product. Yes, it would be interesting to see what we could do with a big budget. If you know anyone who will make it so, then please put them in touch :-)

In regard to a feature length film we would love to do that. However, filmmaking, as you probably know is very expensive and we would need help raising a budget to make a bigger film - even a low budget one. I appreciate you watching and commenting so positively though. Thanks.
Fantastic work. Great job to everyone involved
Nice one, thank you!
I've always been a Treky . The New Ones are great . Never get enough . Right on Trek Fans .
Congratulations on an excellent story, good sets and visual effects. Well done.
Thanks for your kind comments and taking the time to watch the film.
