Emily is an incredible trainer. She talks to her dogs the same way I talked to every dog I had, with a great deal of love and respect. I had a very strong bond with all my dogs and I see that bond with Emily and all her beloved dogs. Best trainer on youtube!

I'm really happy to see you address older dogs or dogs with different abilities. My step-dog is a 13 year old minpin and just can't do what he used to do.

Our Chihuahua/JRT mix would do the "jump up" when she was young but now that she's a senior we do a "climb up" where I'll bend down and she'll put her front paws on my arm and I'll support her rear end as I lift her up.

I taught my petite cocker to jump into my arms for emergency situations. Now if she feels really uncomfortable ina situation with other dogs, she will often come over and ask to be picked up. We started when she was quite young....kind of running up my legs with my arms outstretched......then a higher counter height chair...advancing to my standing with my knees bent then hopping off the back of the couch into my arms. It was a layered behavior but oh, so worth it.

My 55# standard poodle loves to play “keep away” which to her is, “I dont want to come in the house, and you cant make me”. Too many distractions like squirrels, chipmunk, rabbits, etc. We keep her attached to a 25 ft lead when shes outside. We do not let them outside by thenselvs. Any other time, i can put the harness, collar and lead onher, no problem. I also groom her myself

We have that issue with a golden doodle, we make sure we keep it on our terms as one day something may happen badly. We do these recall games day in and day out on and off with each of us so she gets we are more fun that what else could happen. Can be frightening we with wildlife and or traveling and they get away. Praying for good things

I suggest teaching go between your legs to put the harness on or collar on if your dog isn’t to big when loose to replace the jump up behavior. And for not wanting to come inside went outside, I suggest having the dog on a shorter leash like six or 10 feet bring high-level reinforcement go outside with the dog give the dog a treat the dog back to you into the house, feed to treat and then release back to spend a very long time outside. You could also make a smaller yard so the area that your dog goes into is not like acres of forest but a smaller yard that you can then have the dog loosen instead of on a leash, but making sure you call them also for treat and then release back out. Or call in from the back yard means a quick sniff put the front on a Leash_ so listening up you means access to a more exciting environment potentially than the back yard
