Brilliant interview. I've never really seen the real Ledley until this.
Incredible how Ledley dealt with the injury. I think I might have felt sorry for myself and got depressed. Especially given how ambitious he was to be the world's best defender only to be robbed of fulfilling that when so young (though he was still world class, amazingly). Very impressive character.
As a Spurs fan I marvelled at how he developed his defensive IQ to masterful levels to compensate. And at his supremely well-balanced two-footed ability. And how the hell was he still so fast? Ridiculous! An all-time great.

The King of White Hart Lane. It´s mind boggling to think what his status in the game (world wide) would have been if he hadn´t had his knee problems and injuries. He would most likely have been widely recognised as one of the great centre backs of all time. A story of what could have been, I guess. But easily one of the top 3 centra backs of Spurs together with Mike England - bad knee included.

Big respect for Ledley for not taking Rio's race-baiting question when talking about Sol Campbell being another 'black centre-back'. Ledley could touch on the same sort of feelings but talked about the area and social class he came from and not skin colour. There would have been black, white and several shades inbetween young men from Ledley's area that struggled, it wasn't a race thing at all.

I lived in Zagreb when Modric played for Dinamo, I first saw him aged 16 and he ran the show even at that age and Dinamo had some quality players then, he was the reason they sold the golden boy of Croatian football Krancjaer to their rivals Hajduk.

How bad were Spurs that even with Modric "dominating" one of the greatest ever PL midfielders, they still won nothing.
