Many have covered this one over the years to me this was Danny's swan song.his playing is so brilliant it's almost beyond comprehension.best version along with Santo and Johnny.

The title of this album could be his legacy. What a superb guitarist. Wow.

This song has many, many versions including a crackerjack by Larry Carlton but Danny's rendition is quite simply the finest I have heard. The emotional intensity is there alongside enough guitar virtuosity to keep all the musicians out there amazed. His genius will not be forgotten and I suspect he will become like a great many classical composers whose greatness only git conferred after their deaths.

The cover art on the album bring back memories as DANNY rips it up as my neighbors enjoy this GREAT music. I still have the L.P. love vinyl. This is the first album I bought by DANNY went and saw him in a little club in lower Manhattan the year was 1988 .was looking for a show to go to a friend who is a good guitarist said he heard of this GREAT guitarist but never listen to him he could not go so a couple of us went and we never the same my jaw is still on the floor. My brother enjoys a good guitarist like STEVE RAY VAUGHAN who my younger brother turned me into .He took me to see him in a small club called the CHANCE in POUGHKEEPSIE N.Y. about 75 miles north of the city. We stood right in front of the man .I was floored and still have not gotten up yet still looking for my jaw .so now I have the chance to turn my brother onto one of the GREAT ONE'S..got to go hope someone enjoyed the story.

@Cuda426Hemi, he committed suicide. Hard for me to find any humor in that, sorry

Yes, in 1994, suffering from a series of clinical depressions. To bad an intervention could have not been performed; once the Internet happened, he would have been a guitar guide (and god).

life is funny. Did he play too many notes he couldn;t afford?

Danny's life was not funny. A guitar genius he was. But whatever made him that genuis, also tore him apart. He didn't leave a note. With a wife and a daughter named Holly, you'd think he'd leave something to explain what and why he was doing.
"The Greatest Guitarist You Never Heard Of" read the cover of a guitar mag, with the cover story about Danny. He had plenty of people in the DC area who loved him.He didn't have to tour if he didn't want to. But a label just did not re-new his contract.
Reminds me. A King told Mozart, "Dear Mozart, too many notes." Mozart replied, "Just as many as are needed!!: Same applies to Danny. If it is too many for You, go listen to another guitarist!!
