    There's always been those rare instances when the right ensemble of musicians get together and do something magical and this is definitely a perfect example of such!

    Danny and Buddy one of the best pairings that I have encountered.... both at the top of their game

    There wasn't a guitarist who could keep up with Buddy Emmons or Danny Gatton but they both could challenge each other and absolutely keep up with one another. They were a perfect fit and as a team they upped the ante for all steel & standard guitar pairings to follow. Nobody has ever come close!

      Buddy Emmons was quoted saying that Danny Gatton was the only guitar player that ever blew him off the stage and there was nothing he could do about it. That’s saying quite a bit!

    Along with everything else he does that blows me away.his use of different tones.how on earth does he get that Hammond organ sound.i don't recall anyone else who utilizes it.he was the man he really was.

    Even the greatest players in the world eventually run out of chops..not these guys just when you think they've painted themselves in a corner there's just another trick to get out.incredible

    any idea if Danny Gatton is using a Leslie cabinet for this recording?

    • @Hachimedia
      @Hachimedia  Před 9 lety +2

      +Otto Kriete - Yes he was using a Leslie Cab powered by a prototype Fender tube amp they had given him to try out.

    • @haloskater24
      @haloskater24 Před 7 lety +1

      Hachimedia do you know the name of the amp ?

    • @Hachimedia
      @Hachimedia  Před 6 lety +2

      It was some kind of souped up prototype Super Reverb, but I seem to recall six 6L6 power tubes. When Danny got the head from Fender it didn't even have a case, so he made a case for it out of barn wood. You can get a glimpse of it in this video at around 4:00 behind Danny's right shoulder. czcams.com/video/W9G5k92Ppw4/video.html It looks like there's an echo-plex in front, but you can get an idea of the size of it. It was a beast of an amp.

      I had a guitar-Leslie that sounded just like the one Danny is playing in this recording. I used it with a Gibson 335 guitar in a trio + singer group. It worked great, and made my guitar-work seem so much better, that sometimes I got up to sounding about 1/100th as good as Danny. I
