If I want to set up a 578 or 857 for transmit encode and receiver decode, under squelch mode do I select Carrier or CTCSS/DCS? What's the difference?
Thanks, Ken
You want to select CTC. We hope this answers your question. You certainly don't want to select CARRIER.
NOPE! My AT-D878UV does have separate encode and decode CTCSS tone slots and on every other radio I own putting a CTCSS tone on encode and decode effectively results in TSQL and I should not hear anything on the receive frequency that isn't sending the correct tone. But this does not work on my AT-D878UV. It opens every time like a drunken hooker on the last night of fleet week. Found this out the hard way on an EmComm activation. Had to sideline all of my AT-D878UV's and they are offline until I can locate a fix. Unfortunately, finding a fix in the Anytone universe is about as easy as interpreting the dead sea scrolls. Especially when there are two completely different ways of addressing it. In the CPS you have 2 options. In FPP you have 5. And good luck making sense of that when your answer to the question is 0:48 seconds of wrong and unhelpful.

How does a new Anytone H T owner enter their code for Bridgecom University?
Hi John! When you got the radio, there should have been a sheet of paper in the package with the BridgeCom University code. If you can not locate that sheet, contact our customer service team and they can help you get access to BCU. You can contact them here: bridgecomsystems.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new
So how the hell do you enter the CTCSS? Be complete for god's sake
In the channel menu, click on a channel and a new popup showing up.
In that menu on the bottom you see the CTCSS options
