Where's my #MorbiusMob at?? 👀
😁👋🏻

This is the most sincere, respectful and endearing negative review of a movie I’ve seen. Most critics would normally moan and complain giving no redeeming qualities etc. but you manage to make it seem that despite it being so bad, it does have some good moments and your quote at the end is pretty meaningful.
The weird "ehh" sound you made after saying "thank you for supporting the morbius mob" was truly beautiful
Out of all of the comic book movies I’ve seen, Morbius is one of them.
They must've saved so much money on craft services because Matt Smith filled up on scenery. In watching this movie, all I could think of is how much of a great pitch it was for a Morbius video game. This is most certainly from the era of "this deserves an underappreciated 6.5/10 tie-in with phoned in Jared Leto line readings."
The answer to super hero fatigue is certianly the revival of campy super hero flicks.
Sony is piggybacking on the success of the MCU and it's sad and pathetic I really don't like this idea of turning Spider-Man villains into heroes and antiheroes and then setting up the sinister six as a team of heroes as well it's just so strange. I also don't like that Sony is ruining Michael Keaton's Vulture character from Spider-Man homecoming aka the best MCU Spider-Man villain
All of the trailers reminded me not just of the 2000s pre-Iron Man Marvel movies, but of comic book movies from the '90s (I'm looking at you, Steel). I'm kind of okay with it hewing in that direction, honestly.
I was hoping that you'll do a video on the movie, glad you did it 😁
I literally JUST got out of a screening of Morbius (I was the only one in the theater) and I agree with you 100%. It's not good, but it's certainly not the worst CBM I've ever seen. It definitely has that 90s cheese vibe to it, and I feel it's no less silly than the first Blade movie. In fact, I thought the first half was actually pretty decent and entertaining!
I lost hope for the movie when Morbius got exposed.
I like the horror scenes in morbius the little that we got of it the scene with the nurse in the hospital was genuinely scary to me also I liked Matt Smiths character alot he was alot of fun to me I liked Jared Leto and Adria arjona as well they had good chemistry in certain scenes
Dude, this movie was actually good. I think people set their expectations too high cause I got exactly what I expected after watching the trailer.
Whats worse now is that no one is gonna take the character seriously
7:35 the best expression
Im going to check it out soon as i too love the marvel movies of the 2000s they were my childhood and i appreciate your honesty in this review
P.S i for one love Daredevil 2003 it is overly hated for sure and the directors cut is what we should’ve gotten
LOL The comic the movie's were made after is my child hood lol
@@SnappySnapfire nice yeah i was about 4 years old when Spider-Man 2002 came out and have been a huge fan of those movies since. The first comics i got into was ultimate spider-man i use to read them all the time in 5th grade i lost most of my comics from back in the day however i still own some re issues back when toy biz was making marvel legends they would give you a comic with every figure i still have some of those.
As a fan, I love the old campy films from the 90s Batman of Tim Burtons to the early 00s of Blade, Daredevil, Ghost Rider and Spider-Man, without them I don't think comic book films will be at the level it is today. I have yet to see the film, but I have read up and watched the post-credits scene that some have leaked out on social media. I'm gutted about the post-credits but I still want to watch it and get my take on it. I am a comic book fan so as long as the studios don't try to change a major part of a character I always have an open approach to watching a film for the first time. Hate when many craps on a film before seeing it but I guess that's part of life now so many will judge something before seeing it themselves it's a shit way of doing things. But regardless I think people should just enjoy these films until studio companies stop making them because the non-comic book viewer got bored watching superheroes fight.
I saw it a few days ago, it's definitely a better Marvel movie than The New Mutants and The Eternals. I wasn't bored at any point. But there was very little scope for what it should have been and Oh, it's the bloke out of Chernobyl every time I saw him!
But you're right, it REALLY felt like a '90s superhero/pre-MCU movie. If only Sony had the rights to Blade. :D
I was confused why the New York police were so obsessed with the murders and crimes commited on the ship, when the movie goes way out of its way to emphasize that it was in International waters, way out of their jurisdiction and was solely there so they could commit acts that would be illegal on shore.
I had planned to see it upon it's release here but we've had major flooding events which mean I'm going no where anytime soon.
Oh sorry to hear that, stay safe!
Great review, I haven't seen the film yet but now I feel like I've seen it in spirit.
Haha, that’s probably the best way to see it, to be honest.
Saw it yesterday. I wasn't expecting high class cinema but i enjoyed it for what it was. I'll take Vampire Leto over Society Man in Suicide Squad any day
As a Gambit fan Im glad that at least you got the movie you were looking foward.
April 2022: Actual reviews of Morbius saying why it's a bad film
June 2022: *IT'S THE MOVIE OF ALL TIME IT GROSSED MORBILLION DOLLARS AT THE DOMESTIC BOX OFFICE IT HAS THE CLASSIC QUOTE IT'S MORBIN' TIME*
I thought you can pretty easily split this movie into "scenes from a monster movie" and "scenes from a superhero movie". The monster parts were actually pretty great, especially Morbius' first transformation and subsequent attack. The superhero parts were incredibly bland. Not bad, like, I couldn't make fun of them the same way I could make fun of Venom. Just the absolute most obvious narrative choices were made with no effort put in to give them any depth. I also thought the echolocation visual effects, and the slo mo shots, were pretty great! I was reminded of comic techniques like speedlines and smears to convey movement.
I guarantee you if Spider-Man was inside it will be 10 times better because they could’ve made the movie focused on morbius and so how he could view Spider-Man rather as the bad guy and we could be seeing it through the villains eyes
I was waiting to hear your thoughts about this movie
It’s morbin time
I've been waiting for this review, and it's the only one I trust. I grew up with the old Hulk and Spider-Man shows and movies from back in the day, and the biggest movie back then was the original Captain America movie in 1990 (look it up kids), so I've been there for all the bad stuff pre-MCU. I liked Venom, so I'll probably like this. I hoped it'd be better, but it's Sony, so I kind've knew what to expect...
That's always annoying in any film that shows scenes in the trailer that you never see or spoil the ending in the trailer like Amazing Spider-Man did.
Man I read a mini series for morbius and I thought it was pretty cool. There could have been potential for the movie but from what I’ve heard that potential was wasted.
Do you think there will be a morbius 2
Thoughts on the kraven the hunter film
0:00 to 0:03
No josh! You can't say that! Aaahhhh😄😄😄😄😄
Worked for me, only thing was the extent of their superhuman abilities; WAY overboard.
Haven't seen it yet, but I love the character so I'll probably check it out
That seems like a fair review - I'm still very much looking forward to watching this movie...
But as for following you on Twitter - my fone is a Motorola C115, so that ain't gonna happen!
Stay safe, Josh. :)
I love the directors cut for Daredevil 2003
Milo = "maybe its the last one" 😂
I just wanted him to talk about plasma with every line.
Alright I'm with you mostly on the review I just walked out and I honestly thought it was meh/ok. I wouldn't see it again.
However I would not rank Morbius above ANY MCU movie(even Eternals). They're definitely more entertaining and enjoyable watches than Morbius.
Morbius is like the bottom of the Sony Marvel films.
I'm a morbius fan, but most of the stuff I've read of him feels like the writers don't know how to write him. Some of his stuff is pretty good imo! And I enjoy collecting and reading his books. :3 Still my favorite marvel character. ^^
Haven’t seen it, loved the review tho
Man you ve successfuly peaked my interest
I didnt enjoy venom on rewatch and hated venom 2 but i might give this one a shot i prob aint payin for it though
This version moribus remind of marik
I love how morbius does a bat hadouken in this movie I love that Powerball moves from street fighter and dragon Ball z are in movies like Shang Chi and eternals as well
I enjoy the Tom Hardy Venom movies in the same way I love the Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider movies
online people make everything a joke
Well, Excuuuuuuse me for not following you on Twitter...
I’ll start by saying that it was a solidly OK movie. I went and saw Morbius Saturday night with some friends. I went in with low expectations; Sony produced movie staring Jared Leto and no Marvel involved 😰
It was OK 👌🏼
We came out of it more or less saying what you said already. The pacing was too fast and kinda wonky editing. The effects were fine, if not reminiscent of early 2000’s super hero movies (mostly Sony). And, kinda 90/00’s vampire movie. All of this, if not compared to the superhero juggernaut of MCU (pre-End Game), leads to an enjoyable popcorn flick 🍿.
I’d even recommend it AND HAVE. It isn’t ground breaking, and unfortunately it will encourage Sony to continue making OK films with Marvel properties they still own. But, I liked it better than the two Venom movies and was impressed Sony stuck to the source material (Morbius the Living Vampire) much more than I could have hoped.
😩 Those post credit scenes with the Vulture though, ouch. Those were bad and really put a sour taste when leaving the cinema.
There's a morbius mob
I used to like a movie because it would never happen again. Dragonball evolutions didnt deaerve that.
Its a.good 2000s movie. Screw the critics
Boy
Wait, it was a bit??? I don't want to see Morbius in Sinister Six, but if the rumor about Sony wanting to do a live action Spiderverse with Knull replacing the Inheritors is true, I'd be more than happy to see him alongside the Spidey villains there.
As the biggest morbius fan have you ever morb?
the editing i would agree is what ruins it and the BAD action CGI but it had good bones
Indidnt mind the fil all that much. Wouldnt have hired matt smith myself but if you meed an ugly villain and Dafoe is taken, then that only leaves Buscemi and eccleston so Smith worked. But it wasnt all that bad to me.
Morbius the best movie fr fr (but jokes aside i might watch it)
The only movie reviewer I'd like to share a prison shower with.
0:26 sorry but I hate social media so I just subscribe to you on CZcams
Morbius was good. I enjoyed it
You work?
No, all vampires do not suck blood. The very first vampire never sucked anyone’s blood. He just impaled Ottomans on big wooden poles. i’m talking about Vlad the Impaler The inspiration for Dracula
When Sony makes a marvel movie it looks like a DC movie with marvel characters. Sony need to go ahead and sell their marvel characters back to Marvel/Disney. If it aint connected to the MCU I wont waste my time watching it.
I couldn't get past how actually stupid it was. A fuse goes out of a machine, kid uses a spring as a quick replacement, doctor says millions of dollars and engineers designed it and this kid is a genius for fixing it. He changed a fucking fuse. So much nonsense. So many parts that made no sense at all. It's the first movie I actually walked out of.
Morbius Mob 4 Lyfe
I went into Morbius expecting it to be goofy and laughably bad and a fun movie to roast but instead it was just fine. Like a slightly worse than average movie that was more forgettable than crazy, which was disappointing because I wanted it to be as bad as everyone was pretending it was going to be
Was the worst CBM in my opinion. Till FOX decided to do Kraven the hunter movie.
I've watched Fantastic Four and Morbius get butchered before my eyes. 🙃 I'm feeling cold on the inside.
I think Morbius is just aggressively mediocre, but it’s pretty bad in that respect
I think the only crimes of this movie are being too much focused. Venom 1 tried the edgy style and ended up being funny as an accident, where as Venom 2 tried too much to be silly and ended up being boring.
Your movie is gonna suck either way? Then make the best out of it. People will tear your film apart? Give them as most you can. Just look at Taika Waititi, his Thor movie sucks, but it delivers that entertainment where at least it can be fun to watch over how bad it is.
Put Jared Leto to steal from a blood bank, try to drink out of a squirrel or have a bat pet. Look at Matt Smith dance, do more of that. Have fun, it's ok to go out of the box once in a while.
Also: why not have Jared Leto do the soundtrack? Just put that full on emo teen goth black leather trenchcoat vibes and gives us that old vampire experience.
Good review, but this movie was done in before it even started production. Leto and Smith are two of the worst and most unbelievable actors in the business. Seriously, they’re horrible in everything they do because they can’t act. I watched it thinking about two better actors in these roles and turns out it could’ve been pretty good. Too bad.
#morbiussweep am I right! Am I... right?
I don’t know I’ll take a weird campy schizophrenically edited mess that’s at least distinct over a lot of the homogenized MCU material.
I wouldn't rank any MCU movie below morbius sure there are MCU movies I don't like stuff like Captain Marvel, Spider-Man far from home, Thor Ragnarok, black panther, Eternals, falcon and winter soldier, Hawkeye, what if but I still appreciate the creative in put in those projects because I can see marvel studios trying to make different types of films morbius even though I like it it's a bad movie that was ruined by it's editing and a shameless cash grab by Sony so they can hold on to the Spider-Man license for as long as they can and milk the Spider-Man franchise for every ounce of money
New Mutants totally takes the cake
👎💩
Jesus Christ loves you
I enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect, but I didn't expect it to be.
Thank you! I needed to hear somebody say something good about this movie because I actually liked it. I thought it was a fun ride, nothing special but not as terrible as everyone keeps telling.
