Hey Shante. I always make homemade gravy too ( almost the same way) except I combine flour & water together and then pour into the pan. I think I’m going to try it your way next time. I’ve been married for 40 years and a couple of weeks ago I bought chicken gravy (jar) for the first time. Big mistake, I tasted it, threw it out and proceeded to follow my tradition with my homemade gravy. This is my first time watching you. Looks delicious!
Shante, you are right, young couples today are okay if the wives don't cook, the MEN do it or they go out to eat! Cube Steak is still a great meal and fortunately it has remained affordable. This is a great meal for a family. Love watching you cook! Thank you.

I am cooking cube steak tonight and ran across your video. My wife of thirty years left me going on 15 years now. She was a great cook and I sure do miss her COOKING. I still had Momma, so all wasn't lost. Mom passad away a few years ago and when you lose your Momma, you lose your best friend! Before she passed, she wrote me a CookBook in her own hand writing. She named it Vance's favorite foods. That book was my most valuable possession and I do mean priceless. It was leather back and I loved it so. Okay I guess by now you're tired of all the adjectives and glorification of Mama's book so I'm going to move on. I was fortunate to have gone and Mastered a few of the recipes and I have to admit they were pretty close to Mama's, but it's not Momma's.
Now the years have passed and the depression of my wife leaving me and my mother dying has lessened. its time for me to get my head out of my rear and start living again; So it's time to learn to cook girl. You are as close as I've seen to cooking like my Mom. I thank God I ran into your podcast and I will be following your recipe tonight and I want to see if I can knock my new wife off her feet with that seasoned rice and onion gravy. In the future will you please do me a favor I need the recipe for Mom's cracking cornbread, her tomato gravy for rice, and her homemade biscuits. Would you throw those items into one of your videos for me? If so I would be so grateful. Now as for your Husband, he is one lucky man. PS: I never saw you use the parsley that you mentioned. What do you season with that?
Oh my goodness this made me laugh and also made me cry so so inspirational. It's people like you that keeps me going. I LOVE IT and your enthusiasm to cook for your wife. Yes my husband's lucky I must say myself...lol but I'll most definitely in the near future create those items for you. As far as the parsley goes I only use it for color on my plate for a more attractive picture that's all.

I had stopped buying cube steak because it would stick to my pan and never came out right. It was tough meat, You just showed me how to cook it. I went out and bought cube steak and rice , I am gonna cook this dish for supper tonight, keep the videos coming. I will be watching.

Shante this was so good with my roasted green beans! I was at work today watching your channel. I went to the grocery store, got the steaks and made this for dinner tonight. Just a tip to help you save your cookware: a coated skillet should never have a metal utensil used in it, including a fork. The coating comes off and scores the bottom and ruins the skillet. Use a cast iron or steel/copper skillet and it will last longer and not create a "hot spot" on the cook surface so your utensils will last longer and be safer for your preps.
Thank you so much I do know that already but sometimes I'm rushing and forget and grab whatever is closer. But I thank you so so much for the reminder. I'm going to try and remember this so that I won't have to keep purchasing pots and pans...lol
That's the same thing I was thinking, while she was cooking. Although I have the correct utensils for my coated cookware. I aim my stainless steel cookware, so that I can use my stainless still utensils, which I have love!

My wife leaves all the crubs in the pan. It all flavor in those left over crubs. Everybody seems to only use water for their gravy. My wife uses a cup of water and a cup of milk.. Gravy comes out so good.

I just found your channel and Im definitely liking and subscribing. Im now a long ways from being a teen, but I'm like you, I never had much interest in cooking evethough my mom & grandma were wonderful cooks. I cooked my first gravy for Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's house...learned from watching her when I was about fifteen. I surprised my aunt andcfamily at how good it turned out! However, I haven't made it in awhile and definitely never saw anyone make gravy and rice like you do. That looks so delicious and that gravy...I definitely learned something. I never saw gravy as lovely as yours start out with onioms and water. I always thought you had to use milk or half and half...so that cuts down calories just a pinch, and looks so delicious I can't stand it. I'm a pretty good cook and always trying some new thing, but thank you. I definitely learned a new thing or two, and I cant wait to try this out. I just know it will be absolutely delicious! I used to always make my cube steak and throw it in the Crock-Pot with cream of mushroom soup. But the way Shante makes it with all the different seasonings and onions and mushrooms really kicked it up a few notches. So good.
