Have you experienced a clunk noise when shifting into 2nd? I seem to have this noise and the only way to get rid of it is to double clutch or shift as soon as I press the clutch. I dread going into second with the fear that it MAY make that noise as i pull the stick back
I have the same noise. It’s like a metal clanking noise. I cringe hoping it doesn’t happen and sometimes it does. People on forums have said it’s a backfire and there is no way what I’m hearing is a backfire. Not even remotely close. Sounds like metal on metal within the trans
these cars are very noisy in general, it's the effects of having a lightweight sports car. Shifting at higher revs helps with the clunk, u can also shift slower for the rpms to be at the right spot due to rev hang. If not then u can always shift from 1st to 3rd gear too. You eventually get used to it and u get a feel for how to shift better.
Same here. This generally happens when the car is still cold. It feels like a grinding feeling sometimes. Then after a while it disappears when its warmed up
Im at 10,000 miles now. It goes away after your trans and diff are broken in. Or at least mine did. I think it takes many more miles for the transmission to be fully “broken in”. My drivetrain definitely has smoothed out alot since the initial 2-3k miles.
Hot take: I like the start up wiggle. It's like a dogs tail getting excited to play.
You can get a solid rear shifter mount to get rid of the wiggle
It keeps the throw length but makes jt stiffer? Can you send me a link
If u get the performance package on the wrx it comes with the same shifter

Dude I thought that was a me thing, but first to second always so ruff. Shifting extra fast from first to second has helped tho

Can you give me the exact name of that phone mount? Getting tired of putting my phone in the passenger seat or the door handle.
CtrlAltPrint mount. It's like $30, love mine.
Yeah its a 3D printed mount. Mine has the option where you can put your own magsafe charger so it charges while mounted.
@@mariok4rt314 I bought it, works perfectly
How's that phone mount been?
Still doing very well. My favorite item I've purchased so far. It holds very well.
@@TomVangTV awesome. I'll probably look into getting one myself.
That wiggle is scary bro
Yeah. But it only occurs during start up. Otherwise no issues so far.
I own a gr86 that wiggle is pretty normal in this car
Mine does it as well
