- Sky News host Rita Panahi says New Zealand’s outgoing Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was facing “what looked like certain defeat in the polls”.
“And so this week she announced she's stepping down as PM,” Ms Panahi said.
“After enjoying one of the longest political honeymoons in modern politics.”
Ms Panahi said Ms Ardern had “certainly left her mark on the country”.
“Soaring inflation, child poverty, crime and homelessness rates and a raft of broken and unfulfilled promises.
“And a prime minister that suffers from a chronic case of self-delusion.”
We in Canada would be so lucky. Ardern and Trudeau have much in common. They are a blight on their respective countries. Trudeau must go.

Nah Ardern has one good quality that Trudeau lacks. If she sensed the wind blowing against her and the public was really up it arms about a proposed policy she would very quickly backtrack. Thankfully some bad policy was avoided, unlike Trudeau who seems to double down or lie rather than change course. Oh and she finally left office so I guess that's another good point. Other than that a truly shocking leader

Remember that while Jacinda was dealing with the Christchurch massacre, navigating New Zealander's through a global pandemic (her government's covid strategy was the envy of many countries) and the White Island tragedy, National couldn't even find a competent leader for their party. As a kiwi who has lived in Australia for the previous 3.5 years watching its reign of draconian law unfold on my family and friends in nz , after hearing this glorious news of this swine I instantly booked tickets to fly back to my home country.
