I hwrd this groupe for the 1st time back in 1996 and it was the 1st song i herd was nancyboy and ther 1st album was due out. I was at collage at the time . Now im 41 and they still my best groupe .
Placebo has never ceased to be adventurous and creative, and most of all, inspired ( and inspiring ) . Bright Lights is a beautiful, sincere song about honesty and overcoming the most difficult things life can present - I've been with Placebo from the very begining, and while so many of their songs have meaning to me, Bright Lights and Battle For The Sun carried me thru the most difficult time in my life - and if you know anything about him, Brian needed to purge a lot of darkness after Meds -

I guess that when you're going deep into your own wounds, into your personal hell, and put a little bit of salt on the wounds to heal it, well, it still hurts, but you can say that you have found in yourself the courage and the strength to heal yourself.

Great band great song and they are celebrating 30 years since forming this year. Still producing great music, last album 2022 ( never let me go) charted no.1, not many bands have that longevity of success which goes to prove how good they are.

Placebo is such an amazing band. I first heard them about a year ago, I was high as a kite and a little strung out. I wanted to clean around the time I got into their music. They have helped me through so much! I have 4months clean now, and I owe a lot of it to their music. 🖤

even though the old times were fucking cool, awesome, epic etc it wasn't healthy and he's glad to see the light of day

Well, they're well known to have awesome lyrics, Brian is a genious artist but .... this is a brand new level.
Since the very beginning, they outdid themselves. Teenage angst is a wonder, instantly dominated by 36 Degrees. And Nancy Boy tops the album.

I don't get a great deal of recognition for the work I do. And that's fine. I don't do anything which really impacts many people. But the work of musicians is rarely paralleled. I try to learn instruments, but really don't have the gift. Good job the likes of Placebo exist, who add so much to my life. I genuinely love you guys. The music you produce is nothing short of superb. Please, keep doing what you do. It's absolutely beautiful.

I've followed them from the very first gig, many many years later I was doing security at Leeds Uni looking after Brian doing a aftershow DJ set, as I stood at side of him, playing his tunes, I thought to myself "Here I am protecting you, and I'm one of your biggest fans" I really had to compose myself from asking for an autograph !! :-)
