I accidently came across this group when i wanted to study the placebo affect and low and behold , i didnt know there was a band with that name.this was the first video i saw of thiers, then i got hooked. great rock band.
I put this song in a party, some random girl start to sing, I aproched to her and say, do you really like placebo?, she say yes, 8 years later she's my wife.

Been around since there first album 'Placebo' in 1996. I have followed this amazing band since then. I am still in love with them today (2023) as i was back then, when i was teenager. Today i am a father and husband. But when i have the time to listen to any kind of my music from back then, the first thing i put on, is Placebo, ALWAYS. I could never afford to buy a ticket to watch them live, even though it is my biggest wish. But still, i have so much love towards this band. Thank you for the music and the lyrics guys!
Their drummer is a fucking beast. I could listen to him alone and enjoy the shit out of it.

His name is Steve Forrest. When he replaced long time drummer Steve Hewitt there was quite a bit of acrimony amongst Placebo fans. Incidentally, Steve Hewitt wasn't the original drummer either - he replaced Robert Schultzberg. It would seem that Placebo is bad luck for drummers. :)

Placebo songs are so beautifully chaotic... A lot of them have just amazing cathartic endings where the entire band just goes bat-sh-crazy and it just feelks like all ht einner turmoil and complex emotions come out to be understood in that moment. Incredible.

In a really weird way, I think the drummer is the epitome of "Battle for the Sun" it shows that he is the bones you couldn't break. It shows that he will brush off all the dirt. He looks aggressive, confident, focused, but most importantly determined.

One of the best bands in the world. Interestingly, I came to know them in 2001 while sitting in Uzbekistan waiting to cross the border into Afghanistan to cover the war.

i discovered placebo in the 90s as a teenager needless to say they have always stuck around and been my all time favourite band. Intelligent band catchy hooks, great and sometimes dark lyrics. molko is just a genius

An amazing song from one of my most favourite groups. A sad, melancholic and also energetic and happy song, they somehow blend two opposing aspects in their songs, and they are incredibly good at their craft.
Towards the end of the song i feel both like crying and euphoric. The build up to the final part is just amazing.
I was just 17 years old when they released Black Market Music.
Placebo was there in my youth, i always loved them so much. Something in their music, which is unique, so resonates with who i am.
