  • LED Bathroom Vanity Light Installation.
Whether you are replacing an existing light or installing a new light as part of a renovation in this video I will guide you through step by step on how to install an LED light. This one is for my basement bathroom vanity but the same procedure would apply for all wall mounted lights.
This is a simple straight forward task and is a great upgrade to any space where you existing lighting fixtures might be getting a little dated.
As always if you have any questions about this task let me know in the comments bellow and I will do my best to help you out.

Lots of light for a small bathroom with this one. Some LED lights are not as bright as others, so it is something that you need to watch out for.

Have you seen those mirrors with the back light? Kinda cool but pricey.

I haven't seen any that don't look like they don't belong in a hotel. I do like the idea of the DIY smart mirror, but I'm not sure how good they are as an actual mirror. Would be a fun project.

Your light has the ground wire coming out of yours whereas the one I have, has the ground wire coming out off of the wall plate. I can’t seem to figure out where my ground wire should be attached to the actual light fixture!?? It seems odd to me. Any thoughts?

Look for a green screw on the light fixture. Typically they have the mounting point for the ground marked with a green screw. If worst comes to worst you can probably use any metal screw that is going into a metal part on the light fixture.

@@ResearchDesignBuild makes sense! Yeah it doesn’t have a green one on the light… just on the plate. My first time actually putting up an LED bathroom light so it threw me off. Especially when I assumed logically it’d have a green screw on the actual light fixture itself versus the wall plate. Thanks for your time and suggestion!

How do you change the LEDs once they burn out??

    • @ResearchDesignBuild

The short answer is that you replace the entire light fixture. Although with a little skill you should be able to replace the leds and the controller. The life expectancy of the lights is such that once they burn out, they are probably out of style and you would want to replace anyways. Maybe 10 years life, maybe more.

You can’t. They are guaranteed for a certain amount of thousands of hours. Once dead, you have to replace the fixture.
