- I am grateful to have opportunities like this to travel around the world and experience places through the eyes of a freestyle FPV pilot. I had to wake up with the sun at 4am to get in a couple packs before locals began to go for their walks. The other option was to hop on trains and buses to get to more remote locations outside of the densely populated cities. The weather was pretty terrible for the week I was there but that wasn't going to stop me from flying when I could. Japan is gorgeous and I have a huge amount of respect for their culture and I am looking forward to visiting again.

that is some amazing places! love the chill!. the ting is for me is often I don't get how there are no people. how can any place be so desolate.
That was the biggest challenge. The sun rises early af in Japan (4am). I would wake up early to fly spots that would become crowded later in the day. I also did a lot of trains, buses, and walking to get to places that were not crowded and it also helped the weather really sucked. It was incredibly cloudy/foggy and the wind was blowing at gusts of up to 50mph in the "scenic" locations so that also helped to keep people away even though it was terrible for flying.

The heavy winds were definitely kicking the drones ass a lot which made the footage a little shakier than usual.

It's an amazing country that is so rich in culture. It blows my mind how clean it is and there are hardly any trash cans in public. Everyone is incredibly responsible for their waste and everything is recycled. The people take so much pride in their work no matter what they do. To top it off, the food is so damn good.

@@MurdersFPV thank you but I think t won‘t give me any advantage now. I use a gopro 10 and it much heavier than the 8. As well that I use different components on my quad except the apex frame.

You do have to register and request permission before traveling there. They ask for like 30 days in advance.

How do you get permission to fly in Japan?
You have to submit a request to their Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism at least 10 days prior to when you show up. I submitted mine a month in advance and it covered my stay. Other than that they have basic drone laws like:
Do not fly your drone over people or large crowds.
Respect others privacy when flying your drone.
Do not fly your drone over airports or in areas were aircraft are operating.
You must fly during daylight hours.
Do not fly your drone in sensitive areas including government or military facilities.
