For nearly nine decades, the Antong Coffee Mill in Malaysia, has been making coffee in a traditional way, mixing sugar into coffee beans in an ageing machine heated by a crackling fire. The mill, which produces wood-roasted Nanyang style coffee known as “Kopi O” (coffee without milk) as well as Malaysian white coffee, started operations in the northwestern town of Taiping in 1933.

he actually said "the coffee taste become more oomph" while keeping such a straight face in 00.28
It's the fermentation of coffee that brings out its taste and healthy qualities.
And thats malaysian language for you 😂
1 cup coffee , 2 half boiled eggs and 2 pieces of toasted bread with butter yummy. Also tea time now, time to tok kok sing song.
My late father used to fry coffee beans during his younger days in the 50s when he was helping in my uncle's 'kopitiam'. Besides that, they also make their own coconut jam (Kaya) and sponge cake.
Sounds super yummy mhmmm 😋
What does coconut jam taste like?😊
wow these are the ogs ! original yum yum
The sugar will be caramelized together with the coffee, hence the special flavour. Keep it up.
He is very passionate about coffee
like you Ray MAK
Okk
Are you doing this for publicity

@@hms267 that's the point, but it doesn't work on people with dark mode )
True those are kinda loud
More oomph!
This coffee is so much better than that of Starbucks.
Because they have less variety of coffee beans, that's why it taste too bland if you drink coffees there day by day, only if they could sale much more variety of coffee, also has less natural taste of a cup of coffee since they add additional contents such as sugar, chocolate, milk, and etc in high quantity.
@ice the gun Fortunately, that's where I lived, in Indonesia where there are lots of much better coffess and yet local-made, the sad truth is that most of youngster prefer coffess in Starbucks and Dunkin Donut, or just straight marketable instant coffees you could buy in any ordinary stores, however since early 2000 millenia there's already small into big businesses that are utilizing these uniqueness of local products
@ice the gun I know that, that's why it's unfortunate that variety of coffees in markets eventually might be diminished slowly just like fruits and vegetables in the markets, only sold common variety of products, only handful of variety will survive to be tasted. But for Luwak coffee is now already being promoted and brought into more bigger market and tried to expand their marketing targets into the youngsters with cheaper version of the product (instant coffee for example that being priced between $3-$5 in grocery store).
I would prefer to give coffee up if starbucks was the last coffee place on earth
I'm not a coffee gig. But I have it once a while. So got a gift card of Starbuck so I'm like stickin to it whenever convenient. Until recently I try Coffee Bean, and I found there is better coffee out there. I now trying other coffee. This will try too since I'm Malaysian. Cheers.

Coffee snobs like James Hoffmann would cry if he see this.
Southeast Asian tea and coffee are typically low grade and cheap. It's not meant for western coffee drinkers, it's meant for poor workers in the past. I'm sure he'd understand there are different types of coffee elsewhere
@@johannapfelburg6286 I know. Im from Indonesia we even have coffee with corn kernel mixture to cheapen the drinks. But at the same time we have dozens of single-origin coffee varieties (Torajan, Sumateran, Java etc) catering the coffee snobs.
Your words have made me wish that someone would lock up Mr Hoffmann in a cell for a year, with this video playing on repeat non stop, at full volume, for the entire duration.
Now i gotta get some.. i wonder if that brand is available here

@KONG KAH HON thx 4 the info 👍
I can help to buy these if any one is interested
doesnt "Kopi Oh" mean Black Coffee in hokkien
@KONG KAH HON its funny in malaysia and singapore, you guys call coffee as "kopi" from hokkien pronunciation of english "coffee", but in my country in the philippines, the hokkien here like my parents call coffee as "kape" as hokkien and native filipino pronunciation of spanish "cafe" lol
@KONG KAH HON in taiwan, they call coffee as "ka-pi" in their hokkien from reading the chinese characters of 咖啡 thought up in china. the mandarin "kāfēi" and cantonese "gaa3 fe1" pronunciation in china got it from french "café"
@@xXxSkyViperxXx fujian itself have hundreds of versions of "hokkien". We are well aware of the difference between hokkien in say, Penang and in johor. Taiwan's version is just one of the many versions of hokkien dialect branch from mainland. Just like ours.
@@newname3718 yes, i am from the philippines and my parents speak in their own hokkien we have in the philippines, i know how to speak and write in it too
