    For nearly nine decades, the Antong Coffee Mill in Malaysia, has been making coffee in a traditional way, mixing sugar into coffee beans in an ageing machine heated by a crackling fire. The mill, which produces wood-roasted Nanyang style coffee known as “Kopi O” (coffee without milk) as well as Malaysian white coffee, started operations in the northwestern town of Taiping in 1933.

    My late father used to fry coffee beans during his younger days in the 50s when he was helping in my uncle's 'kopitiam'. Besides that, they also make their own coconut jam (Kaya) and sponge cake.

      Because they have less variety of coffee beans, that's why it taste too bland if you drink coffees there day by day, only if they could sale much more variety of coffee, also has less natural taste of a cup of coffee since they add additional contents such as sugar, chocolate, milk, and etc in high quantity.

      @ice the gun Fortunately, that's where I lived, in Indonesia where there are lots of much better coffess and yet local-made, the sad truth is that most of youngster prefer coffess in Starbucks and Dunkin Donut, or just straight marketable instant coffees you could buy in any ordinary stores, however since early 2000 millenia there's already small into big businesses that are utilizing these uniqueness of local products

    • @williemherbert1456
      @williemherbert1456 Před 3 lety

      @ice the gun I know that, that's why it's unfortunate that variety of coffees in markets eventually might be diminished slowly just like fruits and vegetables in the markets, only sold common variety of products, only handful of variety will survive to be tasted. But for Luwak coffee is now already being promoted and brought into more bigger market and tried to expand their marketing targets into the youngsters with cheaper version of the product (instant coffee for example that being priced between $3-$5 in grocery store).
