- Ice Skating was quite the social event in the 1700's and 1800's. Before dinner and a movie there was skating. It gave the ladies an excuse to go and buy new dresses. They of course needed skaters lanterns to see.

I have been collecting lanterns for a couple of years. I only buy ones that are a real deal.....like I have never paid over $10 for a lantern, including my Hams glass fount. I have learned more from the first couple of your videos than everything else I have watched combined. Thank you for sharing you knowledge. I will be binging every video you have made! lol
