J Lee was a legend when i was a young skater im 48 now still rolling. I took great pleasure in telling my young daughter who he was when we watched Alvin and the Chipmunks together, I felt like i was talking about a big brother who'd made a success of his life. My deck was up in Portland OG with alot of my stuff after my ex dumped me!!
I'm crippled and forced myself to work! And used my stimi to get some of my stuff back! (Shes venomous... shed throw it away or let it sit in rain then ship it back) when I got my deck back! I'm "skating and swimming! The only 2 exercises I do!!! (I'm a musician)

I just started skating again after about a seven year break, no kidding, my dentist got me back into the game. He kept hounding me that I can’t quit, turns out Dr. Nick skates. Probably the best dentist in the world!

Back in the 90s I watched Video Days almost everyday before going out to skate. It's so funny now that most people think of him as just a Movie or TV show actor and have no idea he was and probably still is a skateboarding GOAT. I'm well into my 40s and still try to skate at least a few times a week, and I have no plans on stopping anytime soon.
Haven't skate for 15 years or more and I'm thinking about grabing a board again.
I maybe skated like shit but I enjoyed it so much! The passion stays!
Do it! I got myself a brand new setup off of CCS after about a 10 year break. Used to order from them back in the day. Get out there, you won't regret it. And don't be ashamed to wear a helmet and pads.
I was the same. I got back at it last year at 29 and it is so worth it! It just takes longer to recover when you get older but you learn to deal with it. Keep at it dude!
I'm there too. I suck big time at skating but i enjoy so much that I'm on my way to skate again....got the board and a pair of new shoes (also still have some Airwalk from 1998 probably).
Great to see Jason Lee is skating again! My favourite deck from when I was 16 was the Blind Jason Lee (burger king) deck. It had Everslick! You guys remember Everslick? It was gonna be the future of skateboard technology! All Everslick did was prevent your graphics from getting all scratched up. After that series of decks, I don't think we saw Everslick again. Anyhow, I'm 46, and I may go a year or two without skating, but it never truly goes away! Sh1t it hurts more with each passing decade, when I slam, but that's always been a part of it since day 1. Skate and Destroy!!!!!!🤘

Growing up with a mom that was a huge Kevin Smith fan, I keenly remember Jason from Mall Rats, Dogma, then Clerks 2 and then years later as I was enjoying My Name Is Earl in its like second season; I seen an old Sonic Youth music video and was MIND BOGGLED to see a young Jason tipping throughout the music video😂

Yay, I got back on a board after 25 years (now 45). Started bombing downhill, then switched up to street and pool. Let me just say that after breaking my wrist, then cracking my shoulder and knocking myself clean out dropping into a 12 foot pool, I opened my eyes staring up at a paramedic with my wife on my brother in-laws phone absolutely freaking out.
Now my boards are locked away and I’m no longer allowed to even let my kids skate…So now I stick to surfing cause pavement is hard I tell you.
Lol this is me, only surf now. Skateboarding is fucking DANGEROUS.

7 years away from skating myself, came back at 28 still skating now at 46 skating for mostly after hours at the local indoor park, as it's good to be older, as of the bosses trust us with the park.

I started skating when I was in 2nd grade and stopped skating in middle school after getting made fun of for trying to skate .. I tried again in high school, and I learned how to Ollie and kick flip. After that, I was comfortable and satisfied with just that .. it’s been 2 years since I’ve hoped on skateboard, but now, I’m older and can grasp my mistakes, unlike 10 year old me could lol, and Now .. I want to get back on and really get back into it again .. I always sold myself short, not gonna do that anymore

There are some wicked skate videos and documentaries on CZcams now all for free and you can see some amazing tricks.. If you can imagine skate videos from the past just transitioning and evolving in the same way that the rest of media has some of those productions are done extremely well

Yeah me too, grown more into a bowl and transition skater used to be street only as in the 90s in Britain we did really have parks at all, very few and far between.
Lucky I know the members of the board of trustees at my local indoor park so we mostly skate after hours which was a dream come true for my younger self .

As an elder millennial, I get nostalgic for skating, snowboarding, blading and wakeboarding but my insurance literally wouldn't cover stitches. I think that's what keeps so many (over 26 without access to parents insurance) away from these sports now.
Just go don't to the hospital when you get hurt.

Just learn how to be a solid rider then take it from there. There's plenty of titurials on how to ollie when you get there. It's a lot of fun!
