- In this weeks blog we look at one of the cheapest baits on the market, the chick pea. A step by step tutorial on preparing chick peas safely and then we go bank side to catch some carp on them.
All fishing this blog cost just over a pound to catch, try them yourself.

Great blog Danny, cheap as chickpeas, that last mirror was an absolute stunner, tight lines man :)
nice one mate wasnt a bad one was she makes me wonder what else is in there. cheap as chick peas ;)
Chick peas and corn and bread is all I mainly use, great bait and very cheap,
and so under used mate for the more expensive options that "ALWAYS" catch eh lol, keep up good work mate
Hi Danny. Caught many carp on chick peas but I buy the tinned pre-soaked kind. About 30p to 35p for a 420g tin.
White kidney beans work well too.
deffo, forgot.add it in bout tins!! kidney beans will have to look.i to it!! cracking bait those chicks shocked me how well worked
Lovely fully scaled mirror mate
I can't think who started the resurgence in chickpeas?😂 lovely fully scaled that danny, star of the show that one👍🎣
deffo mate on any bait, stunning fish in fact best carp ever caught. i wonder lol, great bait and so simple preparr will be using again for sure
@@DannysAnglingBlog yeah me too, I tend to use other baits most of the time but if i'm 'between baits' i'll often grab a few bags to keep me going..or i'll use them for a baiting campaign because they're so cheap👍
Acrion-packed!
thats the hope going forward mate try make.em shorter but information and action packed
Greetings from California. Chickpeas are not widely used where I fish. They see corn, corn and more corn. So I would am gving them a go. A question that I have not found an answer for, is how long would you keep the peas after they are prepared. (We aren't allowed to chum or pre-bait, so relatively few are consumed in a session, considering prep time.) Thanks. Enjoy your video.

Mark carp would be proud mate 👍👍😂
lol, good vid wasnt it. madness getting it done though as only on location 7 hours!! n erm chick peas work.too well sometimes
Dannys Angling Blog yeah ,plenty of action mate 👍👍
Great vlog Danny, those runs were awsome.
Do you have trouble with the chick peas splitting when your putting the baiting needle through them ?
Needle in from the side.
Sorted
Great session again Danny, Did you have them all on the Right hand rod?
yeah jason since moving down been hard get another spot going going try into lake next trip
Hey danny, are u fishing them with just 2 hook baits or have u chucked alot of loose ones around it? Great video definitely will give these a try. 👍🏼👍🏼🎣
chucked a lot round spots mate prob 20 to.30, i feed them like i would boilies tbh, they where straight on them
Bro what kind of Lilly pads are those they are very multi colored
Can you freeze these once prepared?
Never used chick peas how would you say they compare to sweetcorn?
hard to compare, as chick peas can lack the visual of corn but as a bigger bait are better than corn for keeping of fish like roach. i will be using them in my mixes from now on and chick pea and maize and tigers seems a great mix in principle offering visual and bigger baits
what about using canned, already prepared chickpeas, or are the too soft to stay on the hair?
be fine mate just have keep eye on drained weight to make sure get quantity for session. some.can be too soft though
@@DannysAnglingBlog Thanks, I will give it a try, and great channel btw!
cheers bro good luck 👊👊
