    Great video guys as always, I've been growing to quite enjoy Valiant's universe and their willingness to just go nuts with their creative ideas.

    I love when you guys talk about Valiant! I totally agree that Divinity 2 was the best of the group.
    After reading most of what Matt Kindt has done for Valiant, I am immediately down to read whatever he writes.

    • @ImperiusRex
      @ImperiusRex  Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah- he has some great Dark Horse books- like Dept H and Ming MGMT. Totally worth digging into. And they're fairly short series with endings as well. Always a plus.

    Valiant is the best comic company going right now, imo. I highly recommend you guys read Kindt's run on XO Manowar, it's all great space stuff then he gets back to Earth and has to deal with the characters from Eternity who come to Australia to take back something the former rock climber guy turned zealot stole.

    As much as I love Valiant, I'm ashamed to admit I'm behind. I love everything about it and I'm saving a Valiant-Ultimate Marvel reading list for the summer. I'm excited for that.

      Nice. Love having those epic reads to look forward to. We've been toying with an Ultimate Marvel re-read for years now... I feel like we've only scratched the surface of it on past episodes. There is something coming up in the next month or so that may kick-start it...

    I've read a little bit of Valiant, but not this stuff, though I've been fascinated by the idea and the design of the characters since Divinity 1, I knew nothing about the concept of Stalinverse so now I'm super interested, I enjoy seeing characters you know but in slightly different settings.

    • @ImperiusRex

      I’m not liking Snyder’s Justice League as much as I thought I would im sorry to say, same with Aaron’s Avengers unfortunately. I much prefer the solo books right now - I know it’s only been going for 2 issues but Cates’ Guardians has been really good, Batman Who Laughs is bone chilling, Aaron’s Thor has been amazing (as if anything else was expected). It came out last year but Mister Miracle is probably the best book I’ve read for a long time, I liked it more than Vision. And Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man gets Peter Parker so right in my opinion, the way Tom Taylor writes Peter Parker is so heart warming it became an instant addition to my pull list. Martian Manhunter is pretty great, too.
      What are some of your favourite Big 2 books right now?

    • @ImperiusRex
      @ImperiusRex  Před 5 lety

      @@NTWoo95 I felt the same way about both Snyder's JL and Aaron's Avengers. Expecting a lot better. Haven't read much of Cates, even though he's the Marvel golden boy right now. Troy is loving Al Ewing's Immortal Hulk. We both loved Mister Miracle (and just recorded an upcoming ep on it- so stay tuned). I've been luke warm on Martian Manhunter and Morrison's Green Lantern. Heroes in Crisis has been interesting, albeit a slow burn. Those are the ones that come to mind now

      Heroes in Crisis is interesting to say the least, it’s not in my favourites because I just don’t know how to feel about it. I keep thinking “okay, the next issue will make me love it”, I kept thinking when we get closer to the end and I know what King is up to I’ll love it and I still don’t know what his game his! What’s he plotting?! Maybe when the whole thing is finished I’ll know exactly how I feel about it.

    Hi fellas, haven't seen any of your videos recently, so thanks for (kinda) explaining this series of which I've just ordered the first two arcs off Ebay. Thanks also for making me smile. I was made redundant from my job last week (thanks a LOT, Covid-19!), so it was good to see someone having a laugh, and it was quite infectious! I'm still a bit puzzled, though, about Divinity III, in that there seem to be a whole load of #1's and I'm just not sure which to buy to make up the third arc. I don't buy trades, so do you know of anywhere I can find a reading order for Divinity III - The Stalinverse, please?

    • @ImperiusRex
      @ImperiusRex  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Mark, thanks for joining us! Sorry to hear about your work situation. I went through something similar at the start of the year. I hope it works out for you soon.
      In the meantime- the Divinity series is a blast, right? In terms of reading orders, the first 2 series are straight forward. 1-4 each, respectively. When it comes to the 3rd series, it's 4 issues (Divinity 3: Stalinverse 1-4), along with 4 one-shot issues that expand the universe a little. Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Shadowman, and Archer & Armstrong. I don't THINK they need to be read in any specific order. Maybe start with issue 1 of the main series to get up to speed, then toss in the 4 tie-ins, then read the rest of the main series. I think the 4 tie-in issues were under the banner: Divinity III: Heroes of the Glorious Stalinverse. And like I said, they are only 1 issue each, thus all the #1s.
      Hope that helps!

      @@ImperiusRex Cheers for the empathy, mate! My work situation was caused by a variety of factors, mainly the rubbishness of the British government in NOT dealing effectively with the pandemic, thereby f*cking up the economy til kingdom come, and my employer having no idea what to do apart from running around in a panic and getting rid of half the workforce! Anyway, such is life, eh?
      Thanks also for the reading order. I've now purchased all the DivIII floppies, again, from Ebay (my absolute downfall...especially now I have PayPal Credit!), so your reading order'll come in VERY handy when they arrive! Thanks again, fellas, and keep up da good work (Arggghh, I said the "W" word...waaaaaaahhhh...boo-hoo etc, etc)
