We're taking one apart now- thanks for this. My friend who uses them said the white square is where she injects the insulin to fill up the reservoir

Thank you so much man. Just had my phone pdm crap out on me today and my pod started blasting the alarm. Took my screwdriver and slammed it into the gold part you said was the speaker! And blaring siren no more! Thanks man

there's a little circle of soft plastic right next to the gold circle (at the back end, near where you fill the pod, opposite to where he indicated for the speaker), if you just puncture that with a needle (like the needle you use to equip a new pod, it's quite easy, not much pressure needed) it stops the alarms! you might already know this already though lol, just thought it might help!!

My son asked what it would be like inside after I replaced his pod. Thanks for your video, we don't have to open it ourselves. We were told that the factory would remove the batteries from the pods, that was the main reason to recycle the pods. So I do believe there should be a much easier way to open it. Of course they must have some special tools to do the job.

I just got done ripping one apart and found this. I can't figure out how the needle is inserted because the spring on it only retracts.

The white square is to balance the air pressure while keeping waterproof. Injecting insulin causes air pressure on the other side of the piston. The motor is actually two shape memory alloy wires which shrink with current. They pull a ratchet back and forth. The thing you initially guessed was a motor is actually a rotation encoder. My guess is it detects when the motor is stuck.

You should pry off the circuit board and check out the wire pulleys. I think that's the coolest part of the whole pump.

Great info, I think I'm old school where everything is powered by a motor 😅 and obviously much safer the way you explained it.

just wanted to see if they still have "pod men" inside of them now that they're harder to take apart, thank you for this!

Is it gold on the chips ?

I think it is, however I would like to hear a second opinion on it too.

Good video. But please... I just want to hear your beautiful voice. The music is very annoyingly. It's hard to understand your comments, even we're not that good in English language. Thank you nevertheless.
