  • Well that's about as sensational a click bait title I could come up with.
    G'day folks. Me again. Almost everything can be improved upon don't you think? Kayak comfort being one such example. Join me as I ramble through another DIY hack project. And stay well as always.
    Cheers,
    Mark.

    First time that I tried my diy raised seat, when I've turned back quickly to grab the fishing rod that was screaming, the Yak rocked and threw me in the water😅🤣😂
    That was enough to get used to the new center mass, there is no way back, far better.

      Well I'm yet to topple over, but I'm still lovin' that boat seat. Makes a great camp seat as well. 🙂

    Ok, so you maybe could have said how you drilled into the kayak, and its ok to do. Enjoyed your video.

      I guess you're right. Well, from memory I think I started with a small pilot hole, then followed up with a standard drill bit tightly matched to that metal tube frame for a tight fit. No water got in there so that was good. But I've now had the upgraded kayak for quite some time and still using the boat seat! 🙂

    You are my kind of guy, I never buy something if I can find something that is laying around and will work. very nice build thanks for sharing! Honestly the video could use a bunch of editing to shorten it up by 10 or 15 minutes but good info and a fun build. Have you had a chance to use it and do you still like the swiveling seat?

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  Před 2 lety

      I love keeping it second hand or repurposing existing stuff. Still using the swiveling seat, love it. I've since upgraded the kayak, same kayak just a model up, but has slightly different moulding in the seat area, so I reconstructed the seat base to fit.
      My editing is an ongoing journey. 😊 Cheers.

      Damn flies. Sometimes we inadvertently swallow them. Apparently they're good for protein or something. 😊

    Where did you find the white clips as seen at 26:32 in the video? Or do you know the exact name of them? I want to try to do the same setup!

      Found in the hardware section where towel or clothes rails/accessories are from memory.
      Brand is Adoored.
      ...Can't for the life of me work out how to put a photo in this comment.

    How do you carry it to the water?

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  Před 3 lety

      I use a kayak trolley to get it to and from the water.

    Why not just bend the metal frame to lower it down? Ditch the cup holder...

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  Před 3 lety

      The cup holder was ditched. I can swivel right round to the side now, getting in and out so much easier. Not sure what you mean about bending the metal frame?
