It was designed by a Frenchman Daly and has been used as a location for Bollywood movies such as "Amar Akbar Anthony". The church is named after Saint Philomena a Greek Saint who was the daughter of a the monarch of a small state in Greece. Refusing to marry Emperor Diocletion he beheaded her in Rome as he was angry and would not take no as an answer. Philomena was considered a martyr by the people and was given a sainthood . - Zábava
All of your work has a quality of timeless tranquility. A seemingly lost combination of attributes. I salute you sir.
Thank you. You make me blush……
Hi Dave! what a remarkable architectural work. Thank you for sharing this with us.
My pleasure! I am so glad you found it interesting.
AMEN 🛐
Thanks Dave, I visited this church in 2006
Thank you Robin it is a wonderful building and I felt an interesting story worth making a film about.
Thank you So much David! I visited mysore and had a great time cause we crossed paths. It’s sad that I didn’t visit the church but the cinematography you went with to describe this, went beyond my imagination and made up for it! I will be visiting mysore again and won’t miss this spot for sure!
Thanks, Dave, I never knew about this beautiful Church.
Thank you Brian.
Beautiful choral music
Was that sung in that church? Who composed it?
Thank you Roger.
I am afraid it is paid for library music.
Those railway workers were indeed very industrious. As I write this, I am overlooking the very first golf course in Thailand, built in Hua Hin more than a century ago by yes, you guessed it, English railway workers.
Yes I am not sure when they had time to make the railways. Happy New Year.
Ah, now I know, I watched the Indian version first!!
Was that to improve your Hindi David?????😸
@@DaveKnowlesFilmmaker hahaha, It was the top of the feed, I thought I could put it into English. Watched both now. Very interesting.
What I find amazing as you travel east is how different the written language is. You certainly know your in a different country!!
