We’ve discussed how The Immortal has his roots deep in the past of the Invincible Universe, however when two time travelers approach Mark telling him that they need him to save the future, we see as he travels with them because they’re asking him to defeat their king who has gone crazy after ruling the earth for hundreds of years. Eventually Mark is brought to that man who he realizes is just an older version of The Immortal who seems like he actually has aged a bit over the past hundred years, as he tells Mark that he hasn’t seen him since he took his wife and family off of the planet 3 hundred years ago, but that he’s much smaller than he was then, so he worries if Mark still hasn’t made a cure for.. But Past Mark cuts him off realizing he’s starting to learn too much about the future, saying no he’s just younger now, as The Immortal Gets to the point and actually starts to go a little mad. He tells Mark that he wants him to end his life, because nothing has worked so far and he’s been trying to end it on his own for centuries. The immortal no longer wants to live, and he’s gone as far as becoming the most hated man on earth to try and spark a revolution that could potentially end him, but nothing has worked. When Mark says no, Immortal starts to attack him telling him this is all his fault for putting him in charge, and that as the leader of the Viltrumite Empire he should have.. But in that moment Mark gets Mad and rips his head off saying he doesn’t want to know this

In this part of the comic there are a bunch of robots in the future that take mark into custody and work for immortal, and they all look like Robot’s robots, which makes it a Cool theory that Mark actually didn’t fix the future, and actually made this happen when he left immortal in charge with robot’s brain.

In the last page of the final issue the creator said mark probably created the future we see in this issue by giving immortal robot’s brain. So mark directly caused this future and it’s funny to think Mark is off saving the universe and forgot about Earth by this point lmao
@@joewalsh9571seems cool, but it wouldn’t make sense because if Mark left Markus (his son with Anissa) on Earth, who in the last issue we saw he was alive for the 500 years skip and still the Invincible of his time, then he surely would have deposed Immortal the first moment he showed signs of mental instability.

Mark was between 5'11 and 6'0 at the begguining of the History, crazy he ends up growing to 6'4 or taller. I mean, makes sense since Omni man was like 6'2. 6'4 = 194 CM and 6'2 = 188 CM.

There was peace. He didn't need to be a hero, he just wanted to let it end. Mark promised to find a cure for his immortality and then afe'd for 300 years.

That's sad, he really can't die, he wished he could die as a good man, but he's too mentally Disturbed now for that to happen and he can't die. But now that I just think, couldn't he kill himself by flying into the sun ? That killed Thragg, surely it would kill him too.
@@ruminantdastellar7740 I mean...it would permanently put him out of commission in a technical sense, but as to whether or not that would actually "kill" him is debatable because as far as we know, he's the most literal example of an immortal. A being literally incapable of death, cursed to live forever, no matter the ailment, no matter the grievous bodily harm.
We know he was very much aware the times he was sent into his dormant state via the many bisections he suffered over the series, for all we know he could have his body plain wiped out of existence with no means of recovery and still retain a being...a being who can't do anything and is effectively "dead" but a being left to stew in the suffering nonetheless.
Honestly the only solution I could really see that would be a definitive absolute end to Immortal's torment would be to find a way to take away his immortality (and that would be provided the fact that it would even be possible in the first place which is yet another big unknown that won't get explored because...well, invincible is over)

Possibly. In the final issue editors notes implied that this is the cannon future and mark could’ve changed it if he actually listened to the immortal instead of killing him.

The fact that the show runners CONFIRMED well go way past the comics is so exciting
this fate for the immortal really makes me wonder what his purpose was in the grand scheme of the universe. was his immortality granted from just a freak cosmological accident? was there no grand fate behind it? did it not set out for him to accomplish anything specific?
Cosmic entities and magic in the comic are two things that I’m sad never really got expanded on in the comics. We know they exist but mark never shows any interest. The writer did say that he plans on fleshing out Damon darkbloods fate and hell in the show so maybe we’ll learn more about the immortals past as well.

So it was 300 years after Mark left the planet, but the end of the story is 500 years after Mark became Emperor. Who's to say that he didn't plan for this exact moment in his timeline. The part of the comics that stands out is "If you ever need me, call." That might be a paraphrase, but that's how Mark plans to keep in touch with the Immortal. Ultimately, this trip did infact change the future, if just slightly.
