    I just want to thank you for doing such a wonderful job on this video. Aruba is my favorite island. One reason is that it is not too far from where I live in Philadelphia so it’s about a four hour plane ride. 99% of the locals are extremely helpful and friendly.

Some local traditions etc. are sometimes lost because of so much outside influence. Maybe I just see things differently, I dunno. Thanks for watching!

    First time in Aruba was at the Westin, now Riu Antillas. I watched school children swim out to the concrete pillar and wood decking for gym class, near the police station. In the years since, I have wondered why it has been left to deteriorate. It has been repainted three times but the decking has never been repaired. I'm biased in the beach preference, love the snorkeling around the rock breakwater at the public beach !

    • @LetsgowithHyro
      @LetsgowithHyro  Pƙed 3 lety

      Yes as you mention it's a popular place for swim schools/academies (is that the right term?). It's not in terrible condition shape right now but I agree, it would be the best time to restore it! I was wondering about it's history but could not find anything 100% so I preferred to leave that part out. I heard the snorkeling near the Divi Phoenix is pretty decend right now, might have to check it out again.

I cannot decide which beach I enjoyed better, I love both of them. In Palm Beach, you propabely find more restaurants and other entertainment. I am planning to come back to Aruba soon and I think I will try the Holiday Inn at Palm Beach.

    I appreciate your insider take on both beaches. I will be there mid November 2021 on the Carnival Horizon. This is my first visit to Aruba. What is the distance between the ship embarkation port to Palm Beach or Eagle beach? What is the typical taxi fare? I want to eat local food is there a local café walking distance from Palm Beach? You mentioned a superstore down the road from Eagle Beach do they sell local typical food? Our main goal is to snorkel in your beautiful white beaches. Thanks for mentioning the lockers; that was helpful tourist visiting.

    • @LetsgowithHyro
      @LetsgowithHyro  Pƙed 2 lety +2

      Hello Wanda, thanks for watching too. About your questions... The distance is walkable but not recommended because of the harsh sun. I assume it's around 4km to Eagle Beach (from the port). Taxi's here are very expensive. I don't know the exact fare but would assume around $20 each way. You could take the AruBus to the beaches, the station is right across the street from the port gates. Along the Eagle Beach you can find a white food truck which sells local food. There are also 2 bar-restaurants. As for the Palm Beach I would suggest the Hadicurari restaurant near the Marriott. For snorkeling I would suggest going up to the Boca Catalina beach or Tres Trapi beach where you may spot turtles too.

      Both beaches are really nice! If you like more quiet and wider beach -> Eagle. If you prefer more activities and more choices of restaurants/watersports etc. -> Palm beach. I think for a 12 year old the Palm Beach may be better because there are more activities and the waters are calmer in case she's not accustomed to swimming in the ocean. Un abrazo, feliz semana!

    Hello Hydro,
    Thank you so much for you video. Me & my husband are planning a visit too Aruba around the last of April 2022. I have been completely lost on where to stay. I’ve researched so much over the past year, I feel like I would be the #1 travel agent for Aruba. Then luckily I found & watched your video because I had everything completely wrong and some unanswered questions answered. I thought Palm Beach was quiet, calm and Eagle Beach was busy, shopping stores, crowded and so forth. How WRONG I was, lol. So now I’m just lost again. I also wondered about Arapaho, Boca Catalina & Malmok Beaches? I want the island feel, along with the quiet, relaxing, pool, jacuzzi, patio chilling area with the beach view (oceanfront preferred). So I thought Arashi down too Malmok Beach would fit everything I was looking for but I didn’t see where you mentioned that area. We want to snorkel, swim and enjoy the beauty of the entire island. I can’t be in the sun long so we want too rent a jeep, car a 4-wheel drive vehicle or whatever we need too go off road & enjoy everything the island of Aruba has too offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated from you or anyone with a lot of experience with Aruba.

      Hello Lisa, thank you for your kind message & questions. Palm Beach is indeed the busy side and Eagle Beach the more quiet one. It depends what you are looking for because you can't go wrong with them :-)
      I am currently working on a video of Aruba's top beaches which should be out later this week or at the latest, next week. While the Arashi/Malmok area is expensive, it does seem to possibly check all the things you mentioned including the snorkeling. Renting a Jeep is a great idea and I am glad to hear that you are looking to see other parts of the island too. Recommended is the Arikok National Park which includes the Natural Pool called "Conchi" + the caves etc. Check out my videos on this, I have a few. The other one I like is the Tripod bridge & Blackstone beach near Andicuri (beach). Don't forget the Baby beach and Sero Colorado area which also has a beautiful natural bridge. Hope this helps :-)

    We've been all over the island, to every beach on the resort side of the island and Eagle Beach remains our favorite - hands down! Aruba is one of our favorite places to vacation. My husband and I are returning for our 3rd time right after New Years 2023 and will be staying for 2 weeks. We are very excited to have our adult daughter join us for the first "family vacation" that just the 3 of us have shared in many years. We've traveled together to Hawaii and all over the continental US to popular beach destinations and major amusement parks, mostly in the western and southern US. She has also traveled to Greece, France, and Italy. We're staying at LaCabana Resort which is an amazing place. We own a timeshare there and love it. The short walk across the road is well worth it! Palm Beach and the others are fine too but we are still very glad our resort is closest to Eagle Beach.
