    Looks cool and convenient. Does the table lock steady? Wouldn’t want it to pivot if I’m cooking on it. Thx!

      Good question Robert. Yes, it does. The entire base of the Exo system locks. Pulling a lever allows it to swing, but unless you pull the lever, it's locked and stable.

    I own the whole system with a cargo basket on top and gear locker on the bottom.
    System is great, super convenient however I’m get a lot of bounce on the top tray when I’m hauling gear. Even when I’m within the 80lb limit, when I drive on uneven road it can often bounce to a point I feel may create weak spots that’ll eventually break.

      @@DoritosResidue It won't, the inner dimensions of the basket is smaller than the exterior dimension of the cargo box

      Great video ex except you CAN use this system without a 2 inch receiver. The adapters are available anywhere

      @@michaelhuynh169 actually you can. I called yakima and the gear warrior is the same thing as the skinny warrior roof rack minus the fairing and clamps. Now with the skinny warrior they sell 2 different sized extensions making the skinny warrior longer. In the gear warrior case it makes it wider. You actually have more than enough room for the depth by default for the gear locker to fit in. I won't go that route because if I get the smallest sized extension for the skinny warrior which extends 18 more inches. That would be right at the width of the rear of my SUV. Can result in backing up into someones car. I went ahead and went and purchased the additional shelf .

    The Yakima exo swingbase as one design flaw.
    they forgot to include a lock from the tongue and swingbase since only 2 bolt and nuts were used to attached it.
    Options to secure it is to weld it or use a chain/cable lock to secure it attaching it your hitch receiver and the exo swingbase.
    not sure if there is a bolt & nut which is similar to the size that Yakima uses but longer and has a similar locking key of a hitch lock. (maybe i can get this customized)
    I wish Yakima made one their bolt & nut a bit longer and can be locked with a hitch key or put a third hole (if structurally sound) and provided a hitch lock.
    Does Titan have a solution to secure the tongue and the swingbase? do you sell a bolt & nut with a locking mechanism?

    Does the system lock to prevent the system being removed and stolen from the vehicle?

    • @titantruckspokane
      @titantruckspokane  Před 3 lety +3

      John - yes it does. Yakima uses their "SKS" system, which is their single key system. The key that locks your boxes closed an also lock your EXO system to your hitch receiver. Hope that helps!

    • @dont3222
      @dont3222 Před rokem +2

      @ John Hall: No it does not. There is a key lock to lock the Hitch extender to the hitch receiver. However the system use only two regular long screws to connect swingbase to the hitch receiver. Anyone can unscrew the two bolts and take the EXO system in less than a minute.

    • @DoritosResidue
      @DoritosResidue Před rokem

      @@dont3222 pretty much that lock is useless. I just ordered it but I will be taking it off when not in use. Yakimas designers are kind of idiot's.

  • @DoritosResidue
    @DoritosResidue Před rokem

    I have the whole system. But whos ever selling these arent telling you in a lot of vehicles trucks, vans or SUVs you are gonna have to get something like airbags (like the airlift 1000) for your rear suspension. Otherwise it will squat /sink your rear. The swing base alone made my rear part of my suv just sink like heck. Whats the point of even packing gear into these if it causes that much sink? Dont get me wrong on the quality because the swing base it self is one heavy duty overbuilt piece of equipment and there is no base like yakimas that can compare.
    This is just an fyi because for a lot of people that are looking to purchase this system the cost of the yakima system or anything similar the cost doesn't stop there. Also verify your vehicles tongue weight not tow weight
