Love the new addition to your van Lulu. I just had a hit and tow bar added to my bus and I had a hitch grate that will hold my generator and my 20lb propane tank to run my Mr Buddy heater in the winter. I'm so thankful for the guy that I found to do it.
Just a few more mechanical parts to fix and I can finally get out on the road on a real trip.

Always open and close box from the centre. Opening from one end will eventually twist fasteners
fortunately, it doesn't open unless you open from the center!!!!
When the doors are open maybe create an canopy that goes from one door to the other for extra shade. Maybe even a material that attaches with magnets to the doors

I like how it moves out of the way of the doors. but remember to close the doors first! LOL I have to research installing a hitch on my 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan.

That’s a cool cargo box. Love to see these reviews. You really have to be mindful of that box back there but I never had issues when I had a bike rack that stuck out in the back or years ago when I carried a bike on top of the roof and had to be mindful of not pulling into the garage with the bike on the roof. Can’t wait to see you load it up. Seems like a recliner would be too big but you must know it would fit. The one I have looks big. Anyway it’s great, Yakima makes great stuff.

yes, I agree. you just get the extra length in the vehicle but my little van is short so I think it won't be an issue parking!!
Well worth the money! You'll get a lot of loot stuffed in that box. Most items are lightweight anyway, just bulky. You can do some "house cleaning" and put things in the box that are in your van now. You might want to put extra reflectors on the back of the box for added visibility

You may need to have air lifts put on back of van. Because of the added weight? Not sure I heard other people say it’s a good way and some also added larger tires for easier clearance?

Oh Lulu I like using that white tarp over my open back doors. I actually used magnets to hold to roof and on doors to secure. Not bungees. Love your videos.

You can set your chair up against the doors and put your umbrella up. You can anchor the umbrella to the van so it doesn't blow away. You can put an outdoor shower tent between the doors, too.
It's gonna be so handy and, well worth the expense, for your long trips. You will be able to keep some things in the box, from the van interior, too. The more you use it, the more ideas will come to mind. You remind me of a kid with a new toy. I would be just like you. More fun getting your cargo box in the road. You can carry more water, too. You'd think it was my cargo box, for crying out loud.
Don't forget meal preps and leave toying with the cargo box, for after😀

While your at home base you will iron all the kinks out and tweak where you need to. By the time you hit Florida you will be saying...no problemo!

If you weigh it down too much it’ll change your gas mileage, of course but also it will change the handling of your vehicle. it’s very doable. Just want you to be aware of the weight back there. To bad things like your back up alarm won’t work anymore along with your back up factory camera! And there is a sacrifice of parking in tight spots! Maybe you can mount a small inexpensive wireless backup camera?? Maybe around the bottom of the swing out bar??

When I have back doors open and it is sunny I put either my umbrella sitting on top of doors or put a white tarp across the top of doors and bungee down. Actually I prefer the tarp because it gives a lot of shade. Love your new box. Safe travels. Take care.
if the back doors were my only entrance to the van, I would figure it out. but with the other entrance, it's no problem. in fact, I always prefer the side entrance.
You are going to love that new box more each time you use it. But as someone else said, you will need to be mindful when you back up.
You designed your little van for your needs, IMO..$1500. is a good price for what you want, and it will serve you well ..A great addition that will add to your traveling experience. It may take time to get used to remembering it's back there when parking. THANKS for sharing.

I'm blonde and saw that coming..😂 😂 I have a handicap ramp that attaches to my Subaru...I can't lift it so I leave bricks piled up (to back up to when I take it off) that are level with the hitch...easy to back up to to put it on or take it off...just store it there...
