The atmosphere of a college game is miles ahead of the NFL. Closest thing we have here to soccer fandom
mls is getting there with the tito’s and flares and worldwide recognition. 10 more years to build up the culture and mls will be so much better

I've always liked Arkansas, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, mississippi state, Tennessee, Oklahoma, USC west, and Ohio States fight songs. Tennessee's rocky top is the reason I started loving college football when I was younger. I was watching Tennessee and Arkansas in a competitive raining game and heard the band playing rocky top with rain drops bouncing off the bass drums. First time I ever heard rocky top.

It's funny that everyone thinks "Rocky Top" is Tennessee's official fight song. Actually Rocky Top is of quite recent vintage, being written in 1967 by Nashville songwriters Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. The Tennessee song is actually "Down the Field", an ancient song played after each Tennessee TD (which have become rare in recent years; that's why it's so infrequently heard nowadays).
#17 is the Tiger Rag, originally a fight song for LSU dating back to the 1920s!
Oregon's is only at 6 because it gets annoying after so many scores.

Nice list, enjoyed the video. The 2 best in my opinion are Nebraska and Michigan. Was hoping to see the University of Iowa fight song on the list as I think it belongs in the top 25, maybe next time. Well done!

Clemson’s is really underrated IMO
MSU being 19 is criminal. It's a banger especially when the crowd yells "FIGHT, FIGHT, RAH TEAM FIGHT!"

If you went across America and played 25 fight songs most people would recognized Michigan's, Ohio state, Florida state, Notre Dame , Oklahoma and USC
True but maybe not Florida state.
I am not a Seminoles fan, but just an old geezer. FSU in the late 80’s and early 90’s were perennial Top 5 and unstoppable ~ so their fight song was really recognizable ~ at least to a generation 😊

For the love of god I can never figure out what time signature Ohio state’s fight song is
It is 4/4 or 2/4 (really there's no difference unless you're conducting it) but it does have a lot more syncopation than most fight songs

Texas Tech should have made the list of 25. That song is dynamic and really different. And West Virginia's is quite tuneful. Also Marshall's fight song (at 25) stands apart from the herd. It should be "herd" more often.

Great list! As a florida fan, I was very happy to see them at number 2, I think our fight song is underrated. The only things I would change would be to move USC up and include oklahoma.

Wait, don't tell me. You graduated from Arkansas, correct? While any list of the best college football fight songs would be highly subjective, every list I have seen had Michigan and Notre Dame occupy the top 2 spots.

The Navy fight song is just the anthem of the Navy but still it’s really well played by the naval academy band

I found it interesting that in your B1G rankings you used "Across the Field" for Ohio St., but "Buckeye Battle Cry" for your "all schools" rankings. Both are good but the Battle Cry will always get a better ranking imho (and I HATE Ohio State, but appreciate their songs).

Lets get this straight. I can't stand Notre Dame, and the Victory March is still the greatest fight song ever written. In a league of its own. An easy number two is Army's Brave Old Army Team. SIMPLY MAJESTIC.

My HS used the Washington and Lee Swing, which was unique and swinging. Then I suspect the politically correct wet their pants when they were told who Lee was and the song was gone. Kind of sad.

Great great ranking, I agree with quite a few of these. (Clemson should be ranked higher in my opinion) but this is a legitimately good top 25.

What in the world? How is Michigan not No.1? Hail the Victors is the most recognized college football fight song in the country. Notre Dame should be No.2. Rocky Top; though not the real fight song of Tennessee, should be No. 3. Alabama's No. 4. Air Force's Theme should be No. 5. Navy should be No. 6. Army's Theme should be No. 7. Arkansas No. 8. Florida No. 9. Georgia No. 10. Clemson. No. 11. Auburn at No. 12. And then after that you can have at it because I don't even recognize any of the others really. These are the only ones that ever perked my ears enough to get registered into my memory. And technically Arkansas' is kinda barely there. But I agree that it sounds really good. lol.

Glory Glory is not the official fight song of Georgia. and neither is Rocky Top for Tennessee.
Nick Funke I know, see their individual fight songs on my channel. Most people recognize these as their fight songs
Personally, as a member of Redcoats, I actually like Hail to Georgia better than Glory. I don't know that the fans care as much about hail to georgia cause we play it after the extra point attempt so like the hype has died down by then but its still pretty cool.
