2005年4月22日、愛知県芸術劇場でのヴォイス・ファクトリイ主催「岸田今日子、吉行和子、冨士眞奈美　女優三人が贈るおしゃべりコンサート」でのライブ映像。

奇跡のテノール歌手と呼ばれる、べー・チェチョルの貴重な映像。
韓国の大邱市出身。ヨーロッパの数々の主要声楽コンクールに優勝後、直ちにデビュー。アジアのオペラ史上最高のテノール歌手と称され、ヨーロッパの歌劇場で活躍していた2005年10月に甲状腺癌が発覚。声帯と横隔膜の神経を切断し完全に声を失う。しかしその歌声に心酔した多くの日本のファンから支援の輪が広がり、世界で初めてとなる声帯機能回復手術を日本で受け、奇跡の復活を遂げた。
その歩みを追ったNHKのドキュメント「あの歌声を再び　　テノール歌手べー・チェチョルの挑戦」は日本のみならず、韓国KBSでも放送され大きな反響を呼ぶ。さらにその奇跡の物語は日韓共同制作で映画化され「ザ・テノール　真実の物語」（日本以外では　The Tenor Lirico Shinto）は、日本、韓国、台湾、香港、イスラエル等で上映され、各国で観客に大きな感動を与えている。
病に倒れる年の4月、全国で行ったツアー最終日に残した歴史的とも言える名演。

한국 대구 출신. 유럽의 수많은 주요 성악 콩쿠르에서 우승 후 바로 데뷔. 아시아의 오페라 사상 최고의 테너 가수로 칭하며, 유럽의 가극장에서 활약하고 있던 2005년 10월에 갑상선암이 발각. 성대와 횡격막의 신경을 절단해 완전히 목소리를 잃음. 그러나, 그의 노래에 심취한 많은 일본 팬으로부터 지원의 고리가 넓어져 세계에서 처음으로 성대 기능 회복 수술을 일본에서 받아 기적의 부활을 이루었다.
그 걸음을 쫓은 NHK 다큐멘터리 「그 목소리를 다시. 테너 가수 배재철의 도전」은 일본뿐만 아니라 한국 KBS에서도 방영되어 큰 반향을 일으킴. 또한 그 기적의 이야기는 한일 공동 제작으로 영화화되어「더 테너 진실의 이야기」（일본 이외에서는 The Tenor Lirico Shinto）는 일본, 한국, 대만, 홍콩, 이스라엘 등에서 상영되어 각국에서 관객들에게 큰 감동을 주고 있다.
병으로 쓰러지는 해의 4월, 전국 투어 마지막 날에 남긴 역사적이라 할 수 있는 이름.
Tenor Bae Jaechul
Bae Jaechul is the one tenor in the history of theworld, who continues to enthrall audiences with hismiraculous voice, even though one of his vocal chords in completely paralyzed.
Mr. Bae was born in 1969 in Daegu, Korea. Aftergraduating from Seoul’s prestigious HanyangUniversity, he did his graduate studies at Italy’s Milan
Conservatory. After graduation, he won several vocal competition awards all over Europe. After making his debut, he went on to perform major roles in the great opera houses of Europe, gaining great success and high acclaim. He was proclaimed to be the greatest tenor to have ever emerged from Asia.
However, in the Autumn of 2005, after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, he underwent surgery.
During the operation, the nerves in his right vocal chord and diaphragm were severed. As a result, he lost the ability to sing, as well as the use of his right
lung. When word of Mr. Bae’s condition reached Japan, he received a huge outpouring of support from his Japanese fans. Kyoto University Emeritus Professor and world-renowned Surgeon Dr. Nobuhiko Ishiki, performed a successful vocal function recovery surgery on Mr. Bae, helping him to regain his ability to sing.
After a grueling rehabilitation period, in December of 2008, Mr. Bae returned to the stage in Tokyo, delivering an acclaimed performance. From then on, his amazing and truly miraculous recovery has gone beyond the limitations of medicine. After overcoming great difficulties, once again Mr. Bae’s miraculous
voice can be heard again in concerts in Japan and Korea. His moving performances continue to touch the souls of audiences around the world.
Then, in 2014, a film based on his life "The Tenor. ~ Lirico Spinto" was jointly produced by Japan and South Korea, and was shown in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Israel and so on.
In 2017, Her Majesty the Empress MICHIKO was present at the recital in Tokyo, which has had a great influence on the song between Japan and South Korea.
