We were young and my wife and I travelled down from Glasgow to be there. It was a royal command performance with the Queen mother there but she was way up at the back of the Royal Albert Hall in the royal box and we were down front probable 10 rows or so from the stage. It was a wonderful concert and like all good things, it flew past too soon. Pavarotti was absolutely stunning, a tremendous voice and glorious to hear him perform live. I’ll never forget the big handkerchief and Hugh smile that came after an intake of air at the end of each aria. We were privileged to have been there.

Un'aria struggente e meravigliosa con dei toni sublimi... Il dramma di un cuore spezzato dal dolore di un amore non ricambiato e del desiderio di dimenticare tale amore. Un'opera semi sconosciuta.
Un'interpretazione da lacrime... Commovente. Il miglior Pavarotti... Quello che esprimeva il sentimento in musica e che ebbe questo infinito DONO fino alla fine degli anni '80. Chi ha potuto ascoltarlo ha goduto di qualcosa che difficilmente potrà ritrovare.... Se amo e canto la lirica lo devo a lui.... Un ragazzino di 14 anni che per caso si ritrovò tra le mani il concerto di piazza grande a Modena del 1985. Quando i miei coetanei ascoltavano Guns e Roses ecc. io ascoltavo lui desiderando di poter essere un tenore. Ed infatti sono basso baritono.... Grazie ancora Luciano.

Beyond brilliant....if you live another 100 years and listen every day to this aria performed by the stars of the day, you will never hear it sung as wonderfully as Pavarotti does here.

Ed un certo Tito Schipa ed il sublime Beniamino Gigli...Big Luciano è un tenore microfonato...Grandissimo interprete nel ruolo di Rodolfo...Nemorino Il Duca di Mantova...negli anni novanta ha lasciato perdere il teatro..per dedicarsi ai concerti più remuneraitivi e meno impegnativi....
Ma per favore.. Pavarotti è il Divino..e tutti quelli da voi citati non sono nemmeno degni di allacciargli le scarpe! Non c'è mai stato nessuno come lui, né mai ci sarà probabilmente.

Jose Carreras, Placido Dominco ,Juan Diego Florez sind auch wunderbare Tenöre mit gottbegnadeter Stimme.
